Oliver and Kerry are the most amazing pet owners. Their communication was exceptional and their home beautiful. They left us some wonderful treats and beautifully made up beds, and clean towels. Ted was a big bundle of joy. He is extremely friendly, but also young and lively and needed a strong hand, but Kerry and Oliver were upfront about that. He loved to go for walks and any time he was over zealous a little time out in his cage or a lively walk helped. Ted was very happy to go into his cage at bedtime and any time we were going out. The family said we could leave him for 6hrs, but we never did need to leave him for that long. Ella, the tortoise, was very easy and loved to go for a stroll in the back garden/patio area. Ted was rather fascinated by her which was funny to watch. The area itself has so so much to offer. We visited the beach, crazy golf, the arcades, the swimming pool, the very very cheaply priced and lovely cinema and even considered a day pass to Butlins. The Jacuzzi back at the house was a real added bonus. I would highly recommend this sit and this lovely family. Thankyou so much once again for allowing my son and I this very special mother and son weekend away. Caroline and Ben
We found Mike and Mandi to be wonderful hosts, with huge personalities, and our thoughts are mostly echoed in the comments made below by Mandi and Mike’s previous sitters. They have a lovely large home with beautiful sea views, and a huge garden. So future sitters should understand that properties of this size do require some work and come with complexities; however, a visiting gardener and pool man do help, and the HO manuals (which amount to the welcome guide) are brilliant. There are even videos to assist one with Sydney (the lovebird's) care. It is advisable that future sitters have experience of, and are confident with, big dogs, as here our views do differ from previous sitters, in that we did think the dogs' recall needed to be continually worked at, not that that mattered in any instance. Using treats did help a little though, haha! That being said, their home is in a lovely hillside location, with few neighbours and passing cars, so making it super-easy to exercise the dogs off lead, whilst enjoying the birdsong and stunning views. We absolutely fell in love with the Zoo crew, and found them to be lively, loving, and very lovely, and we would be thrilled to be invited back.
Rio and Luna were extremely sweet pups. They were just happy to be near me and were very affectionate and loving. They did great on walks and are well trained. Mowgli is very vocal about when he's ready to eat and when he wants to lounge on the deck. All the animals were great company.
It was a pleasure to stay in Kate and Peter’s lovely home with the gorgeous Scrumpy! Scrumpy was a delight to spend time with and we all felt very lucky to get to know her. She was very well behaved and we could see she’s been well trained in lots of commands, she knew exactly how to wait/stay at gates/road crossings, where she was/wasn’t allowed in the house and Kate was clear with her guide so we could also use the same commands/words with Scrumpy. The location was a bonus as we were spoilt for choice with walks, lots of options from the house itself (and Scrumpy certainly knew the way!) and slightly further afield. Kate’s house was clean and comfortable and a great stay for us. Scrumpy was a star and we all enjoyed her company, including our two boys. We took her along on all our walks and outings, she responded well to her whistle and was such a good girl out and about on her lead too. Kate and Peter were so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed as well as clear guidelines for caring for Scrumpy. We hope any future sitters will be able to enjoy their time as much as we did!
I had an absolute delight house sitting and looking after Winnie! He is super friendly, loves a good cuddle on the sofa, and makes the pefect hot water-bottle when it's time to sleep. There's a lovely, spacious park nearby that quickly became my favourite spot for taking Winnie on our daily walks. Jenny and Wil are a lovely, warm couple, and I felt instantly at ease when meeting them. They were incredibly hospitable, making me feel right at home. They provided fantastic recommendations for the area and were well-prepared with a handbook about the house and Winnie. Their communication was excellent throughout my stay, and they were always available to answer any questions I had. I enjoyed our chats! Their home is cosy and inviting, with plenty to see and do within walking distance. The location offers easy access to train lines and buses, as well as cool cafes with great coffee and friendly locals. I hope to have the opportunity to sit for Winnie again. Thank you both for such an enjoyable stay! 😄
I loved sitting for Reilly Roo (dog) and Julie (the pet owner)! Roo is very sweet and loves to sit next to you. Very easy dog to take care of and deserves lots of love! Julie was great to work with in that her instructions are clear and her house is clean and in a great location. Would highly recommend!
