Catherine
We very much enjoyed our stay in Troutbeck.
This was our first sit and Catherine made us very welcome, showing us around her home, explaining where everything was and how things worked.

We were introduced to sweet Jinny, who came immediately for a stroke and a fuss. She is such a quiet and gentle little cat, very easy to look after. She spends a lot of time outside but when she's in she does enjoy a fuss being made of her.

Catherine's home is beautiful, very clean and comfortable with a fabulous modern kitchen which has a huge picture window with expansive views down the valley. We had a barn owl perched on the end of her garden fence most evenings, staring in the kitchen window at us, just beautiful.

Troutbeck is a very pretty and peaceful traditional Cumbrian hamlet, we really enjoyed being close enough to visit the busier 'tourist' spots but appreciated the tranquility Catherine's home gave us. We mostly meandered the quiet paths leading off from her home.

We ate out or had takeaway at The Old Post Office for lunch, fabulous food and lovely people, and can highly recommend the Queen's Head for dinner, both within walking distance of the house.

We have no hesitation in recommending this sit.

Thank you Catherine, we loved our time at your place with sweet Jinny 😻 ☺️

Werner
Werner and Nicki are wonderfully kind hosts who went out of their way to make sure we were properly prepared for a two month sit. We were so appreciative that Werner picked us up at the airport, shared a meal with us the first night, and spent a lot of time over a couple of days to make sure we understood the routine. They are experienced as both hosts and sitters and they are very thorough making sure you are comfortable.

The animals were all incredible and a joy to look after. They were amazingly patient with my 2 young boys and love all the attention that you can give them. Werner shared with us all of their incredible rescue stories and we admire them very much for their dedication to helping animals who all came from very challenging situations. We miss spending sharing our days with them now that we are home.

The villa is in a wonderfully tranquil part of Cyprus that is ideally located to explore everything that the island has to offer. We were able to do a lot of day trips and still get back to walk and feed the animals. The villa is well equipped with everything you need for your stay.

We would agree with many of the previous sitters comments that you should go into it expecting a more demanding sit. That being said, Werner and Nicki have a lot of experience and you can trust their instincts if they think you are a good fit for the job. If you really love a sweet gang of animals and you have a can do attitude, it is a very rewarding experience with wonderful people and the sweetest zoo you can ask for.

Kevin and Anita
A delightful sit with the lovely Ava!

Kevin and Anita prepared us a lovely lunch and welcome for our arrival, and gave us a detailed welcome pack (including recommendations for local beaches and eateries) and walk round of their home and duties.

The house is comfortable and well presented, situated in a quiet and friendly street (hellos and chats aplenty and one wonderful dinner with a neighbour!), and has fantastic canal views. Just a few minutes away is the esplanade, where the morning chorus and fantastic sunsets can be enjoyed.

The highlight of the sit was, of course, the sweet and clever Ava! It was a pleasure to spend our days with her, enjoying long walks, playing games, or cuddling. We already miss her!

We would not hesitate to return or recommend Ava and Bribie 😊🐶💛

Thank you!

Melisa
We had a lovely time looking after Rhea and Cleo. They were both very friendly and loved to be petted. We also had fun playing with them. The house was spotless and very easy to care for with automatic feeder and litter. Melisa and Thilo were lovely and made us feel right at home. Would highly recommend 😊

Monica
We had the pleasure of taking care of Monica + David’s “zoo” for about two months! We absolutely adored our time in the grass valley area & especially enjoyed living the farmstead life style! Taking care of the property + animals may seem like a lot of work but once you adapt to the routine it becomes very simple :) As well, Monica provided us with a detailed list for each task which was so helpful to reference/ she was always available to chat with any questions we had. Taking care of all the different birds was so much fun, and we even got the chance to see a baby bird hatch! Also, the cat Pearl is so sweet, cuddly and affectionate- we already miss her! We would definitely recommend this stay to any nature and animal lovers who are interested in the farmstead lifestyle! Thanks again Monica + David for everything!!!
