Lisa and I managed to chat on FaceTime where I met the family dogs and fine tuned the sit. On my arrival I was welcomed and shown around the house. Lisa had printed off all relevant info regarding the sit. Home is situated in a great area near buses and park. Easy walking to beach, shops, restaurants and cafes. Had a fantastic stay with gorgeous and cheeky dogs. Wonderful family who made me feel at home instantly from the first meeting.
The most lovely young couple, with the two cutest kitties in town! Miso and Nori were the sweetest cats - Miso followed me everywhere and took advantage of my lap whenever possible. Nori is a little more independent, but just as sweet, and came flying when he heard me getting kitty snacks out. The chickens were easy peasy, just changing water while I was there. I let them out into the yard every day, and brought them veggies for snacks every day as well. Angie and I stayed in touch almost daily, and both treated me to a meal the night before they left. Accommodations in the basement are perfect - your own suite! And the house is close to everything you need - walking is easy in this neighborhood. I would sit for them again in a minute.
Sam and Ryan were fantastic hosts. They provided thorough instructions and maintained a clean home. Ryan, being an artist, has tastefully decorated the house, making it super cozy. The location is convenient, situated less than a 10-minute drive from Piedmont and about 30 minutes from San Francisco. LoupLoup and Paros are free range but always came home at night. Though LoupLoup was initially a bit skittish, she quickly warmed up to my presence. Paros, on the other hand, is a sweet and affectionate boy. Administering his medication was easy due to his easy-going nature. The chickens were also uncomplicated to care for.
We had a very nice time pet sitting Maurice, he really is a lovely, laid back and friendly cat. He liked snuggling and adored the little treats which Mira left for us and snuggling. Mira is a very welcoming and helpful host. We highly recommend this sit and we would very gladly go back again.
Coco is so cute and easy to care for. The place is very clean and convenient. Easy access to restaurants and places of interest.

I am so GRATEFUL that I found Grateful Dog Daycare! I've taken advantage of their overnight and long-term boarding services. As you can see from the photo, Ariel and I have trouble leaving one another. However, she always comes home healthy and happy after staying with the Grateful Dog Staff who are so very helpful and kind. If I could give more than 5 stars, I certainly would!

I take my 40lb doodley dog to get groomed here and they do an amazing job, every time! They even have a little slab with fur lengths so you can visualize ideal lengths for the cut. It helps me out A LOT. My pup comes out looking great no matter which groomer he sees. He’s also quite nervous but they take good care of him while he’s there.

Can't say enough good things about Midtown Mutts! The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely care about the dogs they work with. My dog loves the trainers and enjoys coming to class, plus it's a great way to tire him out when the weather is bad. We've been bringing our dog here practically since we got him, starting with the puppy socialization classes and now continuing with weekly classes to reinforce his training and learn new skills. I really appreciate that they offer classes throughout the week on a variety of topics with different trainers, so it never feels stagnant or repetitive. They make dog training both fun and interesting!
Highly recommend the team at Midtown Mutts! As return to office has added more and more days per week, we searched high & low for a reliable dog service. Driving to one of the various doggy daycare options didn’t fit in with our schedule so we were pleased when we found Midtown Mutts. They offer 30, 45 or 60 minute dog walks which enables Georgia to get out of the house mid day to relieve herself or smell a different patch of grass. The staff is fantastic and we love getting the detailed after visit summary. They know Georgia and are aware of her idiosyncrasies.
The Midtown Mutts team walked and took care of our dear dog for almost two years until we had to say goodbye. Even as he aged and his needs were more complex, the dog walkers were always patient and caring (pro-tip: sign up your senior dog for at least the 30 minute walk so neither the dog walker nor your dog feel rushed). I was enjoying this service with their reports that include pictures and a brief description of the visit until the walker left my back door open on a nearly 100 degree day in a not great neighborhood. My house was unsecured for 4 hours until I got home from work. Would not recommend to others
Cannot say enough great things about Midtown Mutts. We have a 12 year old jack Russell who is a rescue and doesn’t do well with other dogs or boarding. MM comes to our home and takes amazing care of her! Here’s a recent email I sent them: “Just wanted to say a big thank you to your team for taking such great care of our dog, Maggie! She can be a crotchedly little lady and isn’t the easiest to care for sometimes, but I know she warms up to you all whenever you come by for a visit. We have been hesitant to leave her because her health isn’t doing too well, but your team makes it easier! We love how thoughtful the email updates and photos are each visit and know that she is getting amazing care. We especially appreciate the efforts to clean up after her when she spills her water or has an accident in her crate.”
What a WONDERFUL service provider. I have a large Staffordshire terrier rescue that is strong and sometimes reactive to other dogs. Midtown Mutts actually trains their walkers with positive reinforcement techniques. They also have special safety gear to ensure there are no accidental incidents when the dog might get loose and run into traffic or get into a scuffle with another dog. A great system for booking and invoicing and very reliable. I love the photos that I get from the walkers. They are great with dogs providing affection, mental stimulation, and safety. Thank you!

Midtown Mutts has been a lifesaver for me. I work long hours in a hospital and always worry about my dog. After doing some research, I found Midtown Mutts. I met with the owner, Cassie, and she was amazing and and made me feel very comfortable. All of the dog walkers that I have had so far are great! They treat my dog like a king! They always refill his water and give him treats! He loves them! I love getting the email everyday with a brief description of the walk and 3 pictures! I would 10/10 highly recommend this company for dog walking.
As a travel nurse, it can be a daunting task trying to find dog care while in a new city. But, I’m thankful to have found Midtown Mutts! I appreciated the email updates after dog walks, and I was spoiled by the flexible schedule Midtown Mutts provides. I was also a fan of how seamless scheduling is via their online portal for clients. Midtown Mutts took care of my cat for 3 days while I was out of town. They sent me daily emails with brief report and pictures after each visit and really gave me peace of mind that my cat is in good hands while I'm gone. They responded promptly to emails and their prices are more than fair. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again.
Took our Golden to the splash pad night. They had the nicest facility!! So much room for the dogs to run around in, very clean and no broken toys/furniture. My golden had so much fun and I will definitely be signing her up for a day care session.
Great place to take your dog for day care or swim fun. I've taken my bullmastiff to day care and open swim. She lived both and came home tired and happy. Bit expensive buy you're paying for good care of your dog. I really appreciate that they screen your pet and have separation of different temperaments. Open swim in wknds is great and pretty cheap at $10 per dog. I highly recommend and will be back often. They have boarding service too, but I've never used it.
We rented the pool with some dog park friends and had a blast. The staff are very friendly and the pool was ready to have our pack of dogs rage. Some seating provided, bring a towel for yourself and wear clothes you don't mind getting soaked because the dogs will shake all over you!

I took my dog, Huffy, to the Animal Den for their open swim. She had a blast! All the doggies loved the pool and I got to enjoy some wine while she played. It was a win all around! My only gripe is the admission fee is $10. The fee is reasonable but it does keep us from going as frequently as we would like!
My dog has been going here for daycare 4 days a week for the last year and is so happy and excited whenever we arrive. Previous places we went for daycare I could see him on camera just sitting by the gate wanting to leave, and he was never eager to walk through the door. I think the staff here have gotten to know him and what makes him happy to be there so he feels much more comfortable. They also do cute holiday activities and dogs of the week which are adorable extra touches. Overall it’s been a great experience!
Such nice and caring individuals! They can accommodate almost anything! Very patient and compassionate for not only the fur babies but the fur parents as well! As for my Meeko he is having the time of his life for his first time. He is literally smiling. Great decision to board him here. I would high recommend this place!

River dogs resort is absolutely amazing! I am a bit overly protective of my dog and I never hesitate to leave him at River dogs resort. He can tell when we’re pulling into their driveway and is immediately excited. He gets to play with lots of friendly dogs all day and I never have to worry about how he is doing. The owner, Dina, is a true dog lover and treats all the dogs as if they are her own. She is flexible and always looking out for what will be best for your dog. My dog is an 85 pound German shepherd mix who has lots of energy and he always comes home happy and tired. You should look no further if you want a place your doggo will love.

River Dogs is a home-away-from-home for our 2-year-old Golden Retriever, Emma. She is always in a good mood after we pick her up. River Dogs is the best! our dog loves it there and the owner is so nice and helpful and loves dogs! our flight was canceled at Christmas and rescheduled for days later after we had already dropped our dog off. River Dogs extended our kennel time so we could spend longer with family and took such good care of her. so helpful and understanding!!!!! will always go there!!!

Yep, a 5 star review for Dina and River Dog Resort! We needed a last minute fun and safe spot for our 12 yo American Foxhound and were so happy Dina had an opening for Chuck. Shortly after arriving, Chuck was adventurous and tried to escape by scaling a fence but Dina did not let that affect her ability to provide safe and loving care for his stay. Upon our return she told us what happened and figured out solutions for his next stay communicating in a professional, caring and understanding way. We are impressed and highly recommend RDR!
Our boxer Abbey LOVES going to see Miss Dina every week! Abbey always has such a fun time playing with her dog buddies. We also board our dog here a few times a year and always know she will be very well taken care of. River Dogs Resort is such a great location and we will never go anywhere else!
Dina and her staff have been taking care of our two large dogs for about 5 years now! They were always responsive and easy to do pick ups and drop offs. The pups were always well cared for, happy to go(could not wait to get taken back to play!!), and exhausted when we picked them up! We were very sad to move away because it was such a wonderful gift to have found such a caring place for our fur-babies! I recommend them without any hesitation!!!
We have always been a let's-find-a-house-sitter type family. We were in a pinch and River Dogs came to the rescue! We have ditched a house sitter completely now, as our rambunctious golden puppy loves to wrestle and play in their large yard while our small dog hangs out, snuggles and shares kisses with Dina. My big boy Bengal, Dezi had a great time here. The facility was very nice and clean too. He got his own two room suite! The staff made him feel safe and loved and he wasn’t stressed when I picked him up. This was his first time away from home and I wasn’t sure how it would go. He will be coming back to visit again.
I have used Best Friends since 2002. All of my dogs have done great and I had a dog with some “issues” and she was handled well. There were never any problems after their visit at the “spa” as we referred to it. My two small dogs just returned from their spa visit and Max was on medication and he did great and our Gracie was happy too. Highly recommend!! 🐾🐾

We brought our Golden, Lola, here for the first time for a full grooming experience. She is terrified of loud noises--the girl who met us at check-in was extremely gentle with our dog, calming, and got her to settle down. We knew immediately that Lola was in good hands. They brought Lola out looking better than she ever has at any other grooming appointment--complete with a fresh bandana and bow. We loved our experience here!
First time with Best Friends over the Christmas holiday. She was pretty excited to go with the staff and seemed great when we picked up. We had a long delay on our return train ride and the staff was very understanding. I felt very comfortable with her accommodations and would definitely use them again next time we travel.

I cannot recommend Cha Cha's highly enough. My dog, Penny, has been going to daycare for a couple of years now, and I continue to be impressed with the staff's enthusiasm and care for my girl. The minute she realizes where we're going, she'll start her happy vocalizations in the car, and as soon as we arrive, she is DRAGGING me through the front gate to go play with her friends. Something I really love about Cha Cha's is that the staff doesn't just sit there and observe the dogs - they actively engage with them - enrichment activities, snuggles, etc. It makes my heart so happy to see my pup so happy there. For me, having separate spaces for big and little dogs is a huge plus, as Penny is very nervous around high-energy/boisterous big dogs. The staff really goes above and beyond to make sure every dog is comfortable and well-taken-care-of. In addition to daycare, I've also used Cha Cha's boarding services and more recently, their grooming services, and have been really happy with all of it. While these services aren't "cheap," everything is priced competitively/reasonably and frankly, the care your dog will get is worth ten times what you're charged. And I feel good about supporting a small business that gives back to its community, supporting many of the same groups and organizations that I do. Bottom line: Penny and I love Cha Cha's and know you will too! ❤

My little Jackie loves Cha Cha’s, and so do I. I can check in on Jackie during the day via the live cameras and I see a happy dog. The staff is always helpful and pleasant. They seem to really enjoy the animals. They provide a safe environment for my dog to socialize and play with other dogs. At the end of the day, I pick up a tired and happy dog.
Cha Cha’s is the best! I’ve been taking my little rat terrier here for years- not only do they love her, but they always do a fantastic job! Julie is an amazing groomer and Heather at the front desk is always friendly and accommodating. I was even able to make a same-day appointment
We love Cha Cha's! We come here 2x a week for daycare, some grooming and lots of boarding throughout the year. The staff, literally everyone, is always so welcoming and kind to my guy. Arthur, my Boston Terrier, has a unique personality and can sometimes be weary of new people. Everyone knows this about him and they all give him his space and time to warm up when he comes in. The staff communicates well with me and go above in working with Arthur to break out of his shell. He comes home happy and exhausted. Having Cha Cha's as part of Arthur's routine has been so great for him!
Our rescue dog, Marty, has been going to Cha Cha's since she was 2 years old in 2019. She goes multiple times a week for day care, gets monthly grooming, and boarding occasionally. We absolutely love the staff and greatly appreciate the care they provide. We know she has a blast every time she is there and wouldn't trust her with anyone else!

Romeo and Friends is the best thing that happened in our lives. Bailey is a large puppy who did not do well crated. Now I know he’s safe and gets to play with his dog friends. Bailey was recently boarded when I had a procedure and he gets picked up for daycare since I can’t drive at this time. I don’t know what we would have done without Sarah at Romeo and Friends.

Was assured by owner that staff would respect and secure my home and they did not. Front door was left unlocked while walker was out with my dog and back door left unlocked and open when they left. Staff also forced my fearful dog into a harness before earning their trust, sent me a report photo of her looking extremely uncomfortable in my kitchen. I let them go after four days and would not recommend them to anyone
I have trusted the care of my furry friends to Janet and her team for 16 years now. They have been through a lot with me and my cat crew - saying hello to new furry faces and some goodbyes too. I realize as I begin to think about traveling again, that using Janet and Lucky Buddy to take care of Finn while I am away is critical to me feeling comfortable. When it comes to the pets who depend on me, I have a hard time assuming that "no news is good news", so I really love the daily photos and updates. The staff is really proactive about the pet's comfort, and I know I could count on Janet to do anything needed. That's really important to me when I am out of town and sometimes very far away.

Janet and her team are really in love with animals. I’ve petsat for friends and colleagues and the overall vibe from this small group of dedicated part-timers is an appreciation of your home and your animals’ comfort in it. They also are mindful of bro gong in packages/mail and watering plants, so bonus. Also, they include pictures and little fun reports on the pets’ “state of mind” Worth it every time.
