Lesley and Ivan created a great experience for me when they invited me to care for Babe and Miah. They were lovely and accommodating in making sure I had everything I needed while they were away. Ivan picked me up from the ferry and they hosted me for a few days before and after their travel to suit my itinerary. They made sure I was familiar with the area to find any shops or areas of interest for walks before they left and introduced me to their many English-speaking friends in case I needed local assistance. I had access to their vehicle, which is a right-hand drive, standard transmission, so it was easy to go out for groceries. Babe and Miah are so gentle and easy to care for. They do require a strong arm if they see a rabbit or another object of interest while on a walk since their breeds are trained to chase, but they are full of love and playfulness and are lots of fun to spend time together. They traveled in the car beautifully which made it easy to drive to the local pathways around the lakes and canals. As a Canadian from a dry climate, I did find the house a bit chilly in a damp, frosty winter, so I would recommend good slippers and layers. Lesley bought me some slippers since I didn't know, which was so kind. The wood burner in the kitchen was easy to use, the barn was well-stocked with wood and the heater in the lounge gave off great heat, so most people would be toasty, I'm sure. I never did ask about a hot water bottle for the 3rd-floor bedroom but it would have been ideal. The area is rural, and I enjoyed long walks on the farm roads, away from the noise of the city. The stars were breathtaking at night. I highly recommend Lesley and Ivan's for any future sits. Be prepared for a bit of heaven off of the beaten path in the French countryside.
Mick & Jo's beautiful home overlooks Bantry Bay and is situated on a hill with stunning views that stretch for miles, providing delightful sunset colours. Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed and shown around by Mick & Jo, who explained how to care for the vegetable garden and polytunnel. Tending to the plants and refilling the bird feeders brought us great joy. Additionally, the detailed "welcome guide" provided was a helpful resource during our stay. We were grateful for the thoughtful gesture of the delicious loaf of sourdough and bottle of wine. This house sit truly ticks all the boxes and more for those who appreciate beauty, nature and more. We absolutely loved our stay at Helen’s. Mila was not with us the entire time, as it had already been arranged for her to stay with another friend, but we fell in love with her just in the brief time we did get to spend with her. She is so sweet and gentle and we’d love to spend more time with her in the future. Clementine and Bonnie also won us over immediately too though with their fun loving energies. They love to play and will stop by whenever they want cuddles, before they go off to explore the house, jumping around quite impressively and really making us smile and laugh so many times throughout the day. From the moment Helen opened the door, we instantly felt comfortable and welcomed by her and her family, and even after they all left for their holiday, the house still carried their warm and vibrant essence. We found it very easy to be in contact with Helen whenever we needed and we would be very happy to stay again if ever it aligned with all of our paths.
Hi everyone, pet owners and sitters! To me it is impossible to thank and to give more compliments about Suzanne, Midnight, their house, the city and all related to those days I have spent there. I will try my best, as words couldn't describe this experience in details. From the begining, kindness, prompt responses, great communication, lots of information and the details I needed previous to the sit came from Suzanne. She is a lovely person, always trying to make my stay comfortable, far, far more than I expected. She took me to see her top hotspots so I could reach them later easily for walks and to enjoy the stunning city of Nyon, Lake Leman, the trails through the bush, the roads beautifully surrounding the agricultural area. Offered me rides to the supermaket and even to the next sit in the city nearby (which was so handy to me, as I said, couldn't thank her more) Her house is so shiny, clean, tidy, organised, fully equiped with everything I needed, the kitchen is the must, a chef's kitchen. I was happy and grateful to consume the food from her pantry, cooking ingredients, fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy, spices and good coffee to my excelent meals. And what to say about sweet, lovely, funny, charming, hopping cat, Midnight? She is just a piece of black and white cotton alive, meowing and attentive to your voice and movements in the house. She is independent and self confident as all cats, though, I felt a bit frustrated not being able to squeeze her all day long, as I relly wanted. Ahhahah ! Well, I think I could leave here a bit of my observations, feelings and important information about Suzanne's hosting. Again'again, congratulations and thanks a lot for every single thing!
I already miss my sweet Ziggy 🥹 He is so adorable! Calm, affectionate and really enjoyed my “cafunés”. Hehe I miss his cute meows and our naps together. Elsie is just the best, we had a wonderful weekend looking after her. Dan's flat has everything you need and is in a great location for walks, shops, cafes and town. Dan was kind enough to leave his parking permit and we couldn't have asked for more. Everything was in the notes left by Dan and communication over the weekend was good.
