We thoroughly enjoyed our return visit to Betton to look after Daffie and Dido, who are two of the most friendly, obedient and joyful dogs you could hope to meet. Both are very easy to look after with no medical needs and a mixture of country walks and a garden that lends itself to lots of tennis ball chasing. Dido would chase and retrieve a ball all day given the chance, she brings any stray ball to your feet as a not so subtle hint to play, while Daffie joins in the chasing when she feels like it (about half the time). Sarah and Richard are perfect hosts. The fantastic house and gardens have everything that anyone could need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We had an hour over a cup of tea before they left to catch up on the dogs, the garden and any other specific instructions for the weekend and the same on their return to hand back responsibility. The local farm shop provided meat for a BBQ and the Hinds Head in next village along (Norton-in-Hales) was perfect for dinner (booking recommended). We would certainly welcome any invitation to come back for another stay.
It was a complete pleasure sitting for Cana! Her home is gorgeous and beautiful! Alize, Bacardi, and Kahlua were also loving and big snuggle bugs! Our family had a blast watching them!
We had a great two weeks in Sabadell. We took our car and parked right outside the apartment and then did not need to use it again for the whole time we were there. Everything was within easy walking distance including several supermarkets and local transport to Barcelona if required. Angela had left the best set of instructions we had ever had and so made looking after the cats and apartment very easy. If you love cats and fancy a stay in a very large apartment in a Spanish city near Barcelona then you will very much like this cat sit if it appears again.
Loving dogs in a quiet and comfortable location with great hosts! Liz and Andy were wonderful, generous hosts. They left us clear instructions and were easy to communicate with. Each of the dogs has their own distinct personality and it was fun getting to know them over our stay. Loulou is exuberantly loving and always ready to give affection. With Loulou in the room, you will never sit on the sofa alone ;) Buddy is the quietest and will just come and quietly stand near you when he wants attention. Bertie is personable, affectionate and quite clever. As an adolescent, he can be a bit of a handful, especially as the dogs are working out household power dynamics. All dogs are good at sticking to their schedules, letting us put on harnesses for walks, and generally listen to voice commands. While they had bursts of energy during the day, they were usually out by 8 or 9pm and we rarely heard any noise from them at night. As for the location: The house is well equipped and made for a very comfortable stay. It’s located in a semi-rural setting with beautiful sunsets and plenty of country roads to walk down, most lined with olive and fruit trees. The village of Uzumlu is about 2km away. It’s a very quaint village with friendly locals, a weekly bazaar, and everything you need but not much more.
Kristin was an excellent host! She provided me with all of the house sitting information on an organized google drive. Dinosaur was a joy to take care of—she is sweet and lets you know if she wants to be fed or needs extra pats :). Kristin’s apartment is beautiful and the location in centrs is perfect. It is close to the old town (yet far enough away that it isn’t as loud!), public transport is convenient, and centrs is a hub for restaurants and cool bars. I would highly recommend this sit!
It was a delight sitting for Micha! Mikey, Bella, Guadalupe, and Austin are all sweet animals, and lovely to be around. Micha’s home is a magical place to be, too. Micha’s instructions were clear and Micha was easy to communicate with. Thanks Micha!
