Me and my daughter had an amazing time with Fudge and Tibby. They are both beautiful, adorable cats that you would want to cuddle the whole time. Taking care of them was quite easy and did not take much of an effort. The house is absolutely stunning and so comfortable. Going to London for sightseeing takes more or less an hour to get there but public transport is very efficient and reliable. Also, the town itself has everything you might need - great shops, supermarkets, parks and nice restaurants and cafés. We felt very welcome from the moment we walked in, both kids are adorable and it was fun to get to know each other and share a meal together. Thañk you Briony for this wonderful time!
Omg - I miss Daisy so much! Catherine was a great host and organized everything in such a way to make my stay easygoing. She was easy to communicate and set clear expectations! Daisy is such a fluffy little thing! So well behaved, gentle, funny, friendly and great at communicating her needs and wants. There were days she was full of energy, so I even ran with her for some seconds up to a minute. Cutie, cutie, cutie! Catherine's house was comfortable and easy to care for. The community where it's placed wasn't empty, which made me feel safe as well. I loved my stay! Thank you so much Catherine and Peggy!
We loved our time in Bramber, and our host Billy! Our good vibe started with our first interaction with Julia via a video chat. When we arrived, she was generous with her time, picking us up at the train and taking us on a grocery run, along with arranging accommodations for us for the night before- above and beyond and MUCH appreciated. She provided a comprehensive Welcome Guide in addition to a folder of local attractions and restaurants. We loved that the house is steps from the local pub (Castle Inn, highly recommended!) and just walking down the street you’ll see 17th century buildings and lovely gardens. There is a well equipped grocery within 10 minutes walk. The home is spacious and comfortable - sofas are good sized, dining area is wonderful and kitchen has all the conveniences + wonderful extras like cushy outdoor furniture and a dedicated “Billy sofa” in the kitchen! We had a good sized room, with en-suite. Julia was thoughtful in offering items to make our stay especially comfortable. Billy is as advertised- a loving and playful pup, equal parts sweetness and mayhem :) The puppy energy is still strong with this one, yet he is also able to entertain himself in the large garden. There are MARVELOUS local walks within the village area, and Billy knows them all! Our one warning is he is 65lbs (and likely growing!) and pulls HARD on the lead while walking to the off leash walk areas. Toms hand and arms got a workout! That said, once at the off leash area he is delightful- very ball focused and easily comes when called. We had tons of fun exploring the local villages- there is so much history dating back to the Crusades. We highly recommend St Mary’s House & Garden - restored/preserved property dating back to 1099! If you get the chance to sit for Julia (and family) and be hosted by Billy, jump on it! We are so happy to have done so, and look forward to remaining in touch.
This was a glorious Sit. It was an honour and a pleasure to look after a senior and ever so sweet and graceful cat like Willow. Geoff and Kerry were so friendly and welcoming from the start and the ‘heart quality’ of them, their home and pet made it so special and wonderful. Thank you lovely Geoff and Kerry. I loved looking after Hulk and Millie. They are sweet, easygoing and playful. They love spending their time outdoor, but also love getting some attention and especially Millie, she loves cuddling and sleeping in bed with you. I enjoyed looking after them a lot. The flat is very cozy and it is located in a cool area with lots of restaurants, bars and cafes around and also nice places for a walk. Great thing is that the apartment is in the back of the building so it is very quiet. I met Lotte one day before the pet sitting and she is very friendly, funny, she explained to me everything and during the whole time when she was away she was keeping in touch, answering any questions I had. So I definitely recommend this petsitting!
Ash is a wonderfully sweet and friendly cat, and Remy and Dewa are very nice people and very responsive. Their apartment, though small, is comfortable and well equipped. There are lots of restaurants, grocery stores, and shops within 5 or 6 blocks (don't miss Las Chicas bakery cafe). It's a very Hispanic area; if you speak some Spanish or like Mexican, Central American, or Colombian food, you'll be extra comfortable here. Three blocks away are buses that take you into Manhattan; we enjoyed visiting the city often during our stay. A 15-minute walk away are the Weehawken bluffs, site of the Hamilton-Burr duel, with gorgeous views of the Manhattan skyline. Street parking is tricky, and without a local parking pass, we got one ticket during our week of parking on the nearby streets. So you might be happiest without a car here, as you can walk or take the bus everywhere. There are steps up to the apartment and a steep but short hill to the main road, so this wouldn't be a good fit for someone with mobility issues.

Jenny was a lifesaver when we were re-homing an elderly family member’s dog. We worked with Jenny 5 days/week and she helped us socialize Cashew with new humans and other dogs. We always looked forward to her picking up and dropping off Cashew. She clearly cares a lot about animals and is very responsible with them. It helps if you have a bit of flexibility around timing, as Jenny’s exact schedule can vary given the daily varying needs of clients and pets.
Jenny is so caring and great with animals. She regularly walked our dog bread, and easily accommodated bread’s reactivity with other dogs. I felt like she cared for bread like she was her own dog. Jenny also stayed with bread on numerous occasions. She always left our home cleaner than she found it, and would update us regularly with pictures. Jenny has such a way with animals. I would not hesitate to recommend her. It can be hard to find a person who understands how important your pet is and wants to care for them like you do. Jenny is that person. I wish we could take her with us when we move across country!
Jenny is an amazing cat sitter! We got two kittens in the fall of 2020 so they have grown up to be pandemic hermits. She was very patient in coaxing them to come out and soon enough they were sitting in her lap. Their older sister adores Jenny as well. She was very thorough in her initial interview and is great with communication in scheduling and while we are out of town. She always sends lots of cute photos and gives really good updates. Jenny has been walking our dog Oliver a few times a week for several months now, and we could not be happier. My Hugo adored Jenny - he was always so excited to see her. She was great to work with for me as well and always did her best to help out, even with last minute requests. She was great with communication and sent many sweet videos of their games off fetch or playing at the beach or park. I was so sad when we moved away from her area and Hugo would no longer have the outlet of his walks and play sessions with Jenny.
Jenny is very good with animals and super compassionate. She's taken great care of our beloved cats Nefertiti and Georges. She was very kind and sympathetic when Georges passed away at 18 years. We don't worry when Jenny's at the helm. ☺️
Jenny has been taking my high-energy husky/pit mix on “pack adventures” for 5 months now. Nala LOVES Jenny, and I know the adoration is reciprocated. What would we do without Travelers Pet Care!! My girlfriend and I have a10 year old dog with separation anxiety and a chronic illness that requires regular medication. Marisa and Dominique have been top notch in their professionalism and communication, able to accommodate giving his medications. They give us the peace of mind to be able to leave town. Their website/app allows for quick communication and storage of all of the great photos that they take. Attached is one of the great photos they took of Ranger... Like how did they get him to pose like that!!! One of the true gems of the East Bay!

We contracted with Travelers Pet Care to administer our sick cat's complex schedule of medications while we were out of town for over a week. Our cat has lymphoma and is on a variety of medicines (some injected, some in pill form as well as subcutaneous fluids) with varying frequency (some daily, some every other day, some three days a week.) We were very anxious about leaving our cat Posey, particularly when she needed care from someone who knew how to administer her medications. We needn't have worried! Dominique came over in advance to go over the spreadsheet of medications we had prepared and to get to know Posey in advance. We scheduled extra time during the first few visits so that they would have more time to bond. We also met with Marisa just before we left and developed equal confidence in her. While we were gone, we would receive daily updates on how things were going with Posey along with a picture so we could gauge her condition for ourselves. We could see that during the course of the week, Posey became more and more comfortable with them and more affectionate. On days when Posey didn't need much in the way of medication, they would stay and give her company for the remaining amount of time scheduled for the visit. When we returned home, it was immediately evident that Posey had benefited from their care. She wasn't anxious about our absence (though happy to see us) and even seems to have gained a little bit of weight. Her comfort level was high because there was no interruption in her medical regimen. I cannot recommend Travelers Pet Care more highly, particularly if you have a pet with special needs. Their fees are very reasonable relative to the care our pet received and the peace of mind they afforded us made it possible to leave Posey in their care in confidence. We are so grateful to them! I highly recommend their services and we will most definitely use them again.
Dominique and Marisa were instrumental in guiding us as first time dog owners. Our “pandemic puppy" was able to socialize and learn to walk off the leash with them. Our dog looks forward to every time they come by to pick him up. We are lucky to have this 5-star service in the East Bay.

From the meet and greet, they made me feel confident to hire them. The way they would ask questions about your pet making sure their needs are met. Marisa has been the cat sitter for my fur babies since May this year. I'm grateful to have found her and Travelers Pet Care. She has been very reliable and she takes good care of my fur babies. There was one time that my senior cat was really sick while I had to leave out of country. Absolutely recommend Mau House Cat Hotel! Our senior cat, Alice, stayed there for a week, and we couldn’t have been happier with the care she received. The owner stayed in constant communication, sending us pictures and updates to ensure Alice was comfortable throughout her stay. It’s clear that everyone at Mau House adores cats and goes above and beyond to provide the best possible care. We’re extremely grateful for this wonderful experience and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a safe, loving place for their cat.
I had a very good experience here. I knew the cats were very well taken care of. They were nice enough to share some photos while we were away. Both Kona and Zelly didn't really want to leave, haha. The price is reasonable. A lot better than a lot of cat hotels in the area. It was nice to know that our kitties were with people who love animals and they had a good time there. All in all, I would recommend it and return.
Absolutely love this place! We boarded our car there for the first time a while ago and it was amazing. They treated her so well! Also, the rooms are super roomy! Staff is kind and very responsive. Looking forward to boarding with them again.
I can't say enough good things about Mau House. The owner Julie is responsive, compassionate, and clearly very experienced with cats. Lizzy the cat had lost her human, and we needed to board her until we could find her a new home. She had been through a lot, but came to feel safe and comfortable at Mau house after the most difficult of circumstances. Julie treated her like family, and sent us pictures to reassure us that the cat was adjusting ok. At one point, Julie had some concerns about Lizzy's health, and she offered to take her to the vet for a very fair hourly rate, if we were unable to. We were concerned about how to find kitty a new home. As it turned out, Julie and Lizzy bonded to the point that Lizzy got adopted as the Mau House mascot. Mau House really does love cats! The whole experience couldn't have been any better. I've been volunteering in animal welfare for many years, and the care Lizzy got is as good as it gets.
We boarded two cats here for the first time. It was important for us to find a secure and safe facility as one of our cats is an escape artist. We were able to tour the place beforehand. The place is clean, has lots of natural light, and the rooms are well appointed. We were happy with the experience and will likely book at Mau House again in the future 🐱.
This was my first time having to board my cats so I was more nervous than anything and worried about finding a caring & clean place for my babies. Last minute Julie was able to accommodate my two cats for the days I needed. The room was spacious for the both of them to board together. I really liked that it was cats only. One of my cats isn't keen on dogs so it made me feel better she wouldn't have to smell dog scent or hear barking that would make her anxious or uncomfortable. Julie is very kind and you can tell she just loves cats and animals in general. She spoiled my kitties and I came back to them healthy, clean and happy! I will definitely be using Mau House Cat Hotel again if I ever need my cats to be cared for while I travel. Great price, great service, great space!
This place is amazing! If you need to board your cats I highly, highly recommend this place! In the past we had a neighbor come by to feed our cats, but noticed they would do things like pee on our bed as what I assume was a sign of stress that we were gone. At Mau house Julie sent photos and updates daily reassuring me my babies were in good hands. The cats have actual room with windows to hang out in and she let's them roam around the facility if they are interested. Our cats got great care and plenty of love. Totally recommend if you need cat boarding!
I have three bonded, shy cats and have never boarded them before because of my concerns about them being too shy and nervous to deal with a boarding situation. What a relief to find Julie and Mau House. Julie let me chose a room for the cats-and it was a room-no small kennel for them- but a large, bright, sunny room with windows. She let me bring their cat tree and anything else that would make them feel comfortable, blankets and beds from home. The building is clean, quiet, calm and smells good! Julie was great at giving up dates when we were away and took pictures as well. The girls did fine while we were away, no one lost weight or spent the whole time hiding. They got plenty of attention and love. I highly recommend Mau House to anyone looking to board their cats while they are away.
This wonderful home away from home for our cats is a Godsend. Cats literally get their own "hotel" room. There are climbers and windows, with just enough privacy for them and enough visibility to be monitored. Julie fed my senior cat Fiona a warm water mixture of her food and she has not vomited since. I was told by a vet to add chicken broth which obviously was causing her stomach problems and vomiting. Thank you Julie...sometimes the simple things are the best solutions. I got my cat about a year ago and in the past when I was away, I would use a pet sitter. My cat showed a lot of anxiety with me being gone, even though she was remaining in her own space, so I wanted to try something different. I decided to look into cat boarding. The only places I liked were in SF, which is far and expensive. At one of the SF boarding facilities, they mentioned Mau House had recently opened and maybe I should check it out since it's closer to me. I was impressed by the sizes of the rooms and the natural lighting. Some facilities have a lot of built-in bells and whistles like cameras, scratchers, or fancy cat trees (you can purchase a scratcher and some other things for a fee). Mau House does not have that, but they do allow you to bring anything you want of your own, which is nice because you can bring your scent as well as your cat's scent into the place. I think the most important thing for me was the fact Julie is clearly a cat person and is understanding. My cat took some time to adjust and I was worried about her getting the attention she needed to get comfortable. While my cat was never 100% at home, Julie still remained understanding and tried to keep her happy. The only thing I would change is maybe more regular updates because there isn't a built-in camera I can just check on my own. Julie was quick to provide when I reached out and asked though.
We just moved to the east bay this fall and needed a pet sitter to watch our kitties over the holidays. We felt very lucky to find Rebecca! Rebecca does a free meet and greet where she comes to the house to meet you and your pets and make sure it’s a good fit. This gave us the peace of mind to know our pets would be well taken care of while we were traveling. Rebecca also sends a very thorough questionnaire and will take care of bringing in mail, watering plants, etc if you’d like. We loved the daily update with pictures of our kitties and are sure they were much happier in their own space, seeing Rebecca, than at a boarding facility. Thank you Rebecca!
Rebecca's team took excellent care of my cat while I was away for a week. They had no trouble accommodating my last-minute request for care or my service area (Richmond CA). Someone from her team came by for 30 mins per day to feed, cuddle, and play with my cat and sent me a handful of pictures to show he was doing well after each visit. When I got back he was happy but didn't seem at all stressed or attention starved like he had in the past with other cat sitters (not from Rebecca's team). I will definitely call Rebecca again next time I plan to travel and need some care and companionship for my cat.
I had thought about hiring a dog walker for my girl Penny Lane for years but I didn't feel comfortable handing over the key to my house, and my burglar alarm code, to just anyone. I met Rebecca at a friend's party and she mentioned her pet care business. I needed a dog walker and I loved her instantly and knew I could trust her. Long story short, Rebecca has been walking my dog Mondays through Fridays for over a year and she has changed my life and Penny's life. I feel relieved knowing Penny gets a break when I'm at work and away from home all day, and right away I noticed Penny was more relaxed when I came home from work. Did I mention I have two cats? They are very shy and reserved but warmed up to Rebecca instantly. Rebecca has stayed with my pets several times when I travel and it's such a relief to know I have someone I can totally trust who will take care of my pets! About a month ago I was home while having flooring installed and Rebecca came to walk Penny. Penny saw Rebecca and immediately started leaping in the air when she saw her and it warmed my heart. I didn't exist at that moment! I highly recommend Rebecca as someone who will care for your pet as if it is her own pet! She is the pet whisperer!
My dog, Gigi, loves Rebecca! She connects so well with her. My dog has some unique issues and Rebecca is watchful, observant and ready to respond when needed. Every time I get a message from Rebecca that they've completed the walk, I'm relieved to know that Gigi is in good hands. She also a great communicator, so if any issue arises, she lets me know right away. Thank you, Rebecca!
I am so happy to have found Rebecca to walk our dog! She truly is a gem! Rebecca regularly walks our dog and I always feel relaxed knowing that he is in her responsible, caring and safe hands! I depend and trust her implicitly which is saying a lot! She sends me pictures and updates every time they have been together which always puts a smile on my face. Rebecca is awesome! We recently had her check in on the cats twice a day while on vacation for a week. Our three cats were very content when we returned, even the most sensitive girlcat who tends to sink into depression when I am away. All the little tasks were done as we asked and she sent many photos and texts to keep us updated, asking questions as needed along the way. The kitchen was kept very clean and there was minimal post-vacation cleanup needed. We will definitely be having Rebecca catsit again in the future and highly recommend her services.
Finding Rebecca Marlin was the best thing I could have done for my dogs. I’m neurotic when it come to them, and I have always been afraid of allowing someone else to take care of them. Rebecca is kind, caring and truly loves animals. The best part is, my dogs adore her and I don’t have to worry, I know they are well cared for. I recommend Rebecca to anyone who wants their Animals taken care of, better than they would take care of them themselves.
Rebecca did some pet sitting for me...she was good at communicating with me when necessary. She responded in a timely manner to questions. I appreciate her no nonsense style, she came on the days I needed here, the times we agreed on, and did what had to be done. I couldn't ask for anything more!

They provide attentive and loving care for dogs - I've used their day care and overnight services since 2021, and my dog (Enzo) absolutely loves it and everyone who works there. The MD center is clean, thoughtfully organized and run, and a place where Enzo feels safe and has a ton of fun.

My dog Josie loves Metro Dog. Their staff are kind and patient with her, and she's always excited to see them on her daycare days. They have early and late drop-offs, which accommodate my busy schedule. They also have been educating me on how to better care for my dog, from grooming to behavioral insights. Metro Dog has been the perfect boarding option for my dog, Willow. She has some anxiety but does better when she is around other dogs while we are away. The staff at Metro Dog were incredibly thoughtful and intentional about assessing Willow's fit for the social program, and they always centered on what was most responsive to her needs. They guided me through a process to get her ready to be boarded with them, resulting in a successful boarding experience. Whether I have her in daycare or being boarded, I trust Metro Dog and their judgment about what will help her be most successful and comfortable, which keeps my mind at ease.
Amazing staff, very attentive to your dog’s emotional state. During the assessment, they will determine your dog’s ability to interact with other dogs and group him/her appropriately. Socialization is magic for your dog’s public behavior. Would give ten stars if possible.
I can’t say enough good things about MetroDog. They’re so knowledgeable, professional, and organized. It’s clear how much thought and effort they put into making this more than a place for your dog to stay but a place for their social development. My pup can get intimidated by new dogs, but she LOVES going to MetroDog probably because she feels safe there. She’s also become so much more comfortable in groups of dogs since she started attending daycare regularly. The staff are all amazing, the owner is great. So grateful to have MetroDog :)
The team at Metro Dog are amazing. They have been a part of our family for over 8 years. Metro Dog helps us with private boarding since our girl Kani needs special care. She's so loving and gentle to us but is not a fan of other dogs. The Metro Dog staff have taken wonderful care of Kani. She is always happy when we pick her up. We've been part of the MetroDog family with our dog Xavi for over 6 years. They've been a game-changer for us. Whether it's regular daycare or occasional boarding, Xavi's always super excited going in and coming out - all wags all the time! Diane, the owner, is incredible. She shows care for both dogs and owners. The staff is always very friendly. The way they handled the pandemic was top-notch, balancing health concerns and keeping everything smooth. I didn’t want to put one star ⭐️ for me to ask questions and get a review . I tried Tuesday to check the facility out because I want to board my dogs 🐕. This young man met me at the door didn’t let me in. Did explain how it’s work. Need to make an appointment online you have to wait until Saturday or Sunday to be able to check it out! I wasn’t impressed ! Why charged $85 per dog? If you have three or four dogs 🐕 they want to stay for three or four Days, figure how much that will cost. It’s just as much as my trip. .I need to make sure that they’re in a safe environment people who does care not standing around and talking, I would like to see the people who is caring and safe. thank you. ... I know there’s poor reviews. I would like to see them.
Wanted to give a big thanks to the staff for taking care of my dog. This place is awesome, my dog has really bad separation anxiety. They were very patient with her and gave her great treatment. Thank you Metro Dog staff.
Melissa is an amazing cat sitter. She was recommended to me by a coworker and I am so glad I found her! My cat is definitely finicky, and not the most friendly with strangers, but Melissa knew exactly what to do and how to take care of my cat. She's even able to pet her now!! Melissa was also there with no questions asked when I had to go to the hospital unexpectedly and gave birth to my son 7 weeks early. Without hesitation, she offered to just continue going to our house until we needed her to stop. It ended up being close to 2 weeks that she took care of my cat. I was so relieved to have her there so I didn’t have one more thing to worry about. Melissa always stays in constant communication when she's caring for the cats, sends updates and photos daily. She even offered advice and brought different types of food for me to try when my cat wasn't eating. I highly recommend Melissa to anyone needing someone to care for their cat!
Melissa has been amazing to work with and takes such phenomenal care of our two cats! We are so pleased and highly recommend her to others. She has been flexible when our plans have unexpectedly changed and is happy to add on days if we need them. Melissa and Finicky Felinz are the best! I am a devoted and anxious cat mom and I never worry about leaving my kitties at home when I travel because I know Melissa loves them and takes great care of them. She feeds them, gives meds, plays with them, pets them, and sends great photos every day so I don't have to worry! We've had Melissa cat sit our two cats for several years now, and we love her! She's super reliable, fast at responding, flexible, and best of all, she understands everything about cats! She has also helped me with their behavioral issues when they were going through rough patches and not getting along, or were stressed out. She would go the extra mile to ensure they were okay, and it was a huge relief to have them in her care. I often consult her when I have concerns, and she's always been really helpful! I have been using Melissa's services for the last two or so years. As a frequent business travel, I appreciate her flexibility and ability to work in visits with my two kitties. From the videos and photos she sends me, they clearly love her visits and she brings them special treats from time to time! I am so happy they are in good hands when I'm gone.
Melissa is TERRIFIC. She is reliable, resourceful, punctual, and a great communicator, sending us daily updates and pictures of our dear Tomboy. She is able to anticipate problems in advance and to deal with the unexpected. Once, after we had left on our vacation, we found out that our house keys had been stolen. We didn't know what to do and thought we might have to come home. Melissa took the initiative to contact a locksmith and stayed until he came to change the locks. This seemed above and beyond the call of duty, and is just an example of her resourcefulness. We trust her implicitly and recommend her without reservation. You will be lucky to have her on your team.

EDIT: We are coming up on our five year anniversary being with Doggy Lama! Wow time has flown. We do have two new walkers that tag team, Joe (who is our primary walker) and Vero (who provides backup), but all the previous statements in my review are still valid. Joe and Vero are always communicative, respectful, and Warren can't wait to go on adventures with him and his pack. You can tell how much they each love and appreciate their dogs. ---- Our boy Warren, a border collie mix, LOVES his time with Kristen & Michael's packs. They're some of the most exceptional and trustworthy dog walkers we've had. Warren will wait up by the window for Kristen or Michael to come every morning - tail waggin a million miles an hour and whimpering from excitement. It makes me happy to see Warren get to play out on the trails, learn new skills, and socialize with his pals every day. Finding a trustworthy and professional dog walker is not easy. But Molly runs a tight ship, and the team she leads at Doggy Lama shows just how much she cares for and loves animals. Vanessa is pure gold. She has been walking my sweet husky-pit mix Margaux since she was a year old and forged an incredible bond not only with my pup, but with our whole family. We feel so comfortable with them, and often lean on their guidance and advice for taking care of our dog Rory. Our walker Jeysi feels like a member of the family. Every weekday she reliably arrives at our home, Rory runs to greet her, and off they goes with a pack of 5-7 dogs on a beautiful East Bay trail. A few hours later Rory comes home happy and tired. And then Jeysi sends us a written summary along with beautiful photos and videos from the day. It seems like such a fun pack. We're so, so grateful for Jeysi. Attaching just one pic here. Molly and her team at Doggy Lama are the best! Our dog Toby always returns from his off-leash walks with Jordan having had lots of fun with his pack buds and tuckered out. It’s been a huge relief to know Toby is getting the exercise and stimulation he needs, especially during the work week when we can’t provide that for him to this level. This team is also amazing at communication, from day-of logistics to general awareness of seasonal considerations on the trail.

Everyone at Doggy Lama has been so good to my pup, Rosie, since I adopted her over a year ago. Rosie has arthritis so Dorothy takes her to the park to sniff about at her own pace or just lay in the sun. It's clear that she loves her time with Dorothy because she always comes home with a huge smile on her face! Kendrae is super communicative and responsive around scheduling, too. Highly recommended!!
Kasper and I we both LOVE Doggy Lama; obviously for different reasons - Kasper loves the walks, treats and keeping his brain working while practicing recall on every walk. I love it that the Doggy Lama team is super reliable and feels like extended family. After I broke my foot they were able to immediately schedule Kasper for walks every day so I was able to rest. This is the best daycare in Berkeley. The staff is always so friendly and accommodating. My husband and I work long shifts and we are at ease knowing that Lola has a place to hang out. Thank you Barkmont!
We love Barkmont and so does our little pup! Barkmont staff are incredibly responsive, communicative and flexible when we've experienced emergencies. Big bonus to their location is it's proximity to Berkeley Animal Hospital (right across the street), freeway and street parking for quick drop off and pick up.
Our large chocolate lab spent some quality time at Barkmont. We loved it there. The staff are THE friendlies, love their guests, and are so communicative. Our last time at the Barkmont, our lab was just there for the day this time around. He, unfortunately, was too excited/anxious (and admittedly nearing the end of his life) and his heart and lungs couldn't take the excitement. The staff cared for him in the best way possible while he was a bit in distress and they kept us in the know of his status throughout the day. They told us what their plan of action was until we got there and kindly asked if we wanted anything done differently. The Barkmont and its loving staff....ya can't beat it. Thank you Barkmont for showing Jaxon a good time (several times) and caring for him with so much love while he was in distress. We love you!
Friendly service and great care for your dog or dogs. I really enjoyed the helped from Liliana. Her service was great and she quickly got my dog in the day care the next day safe and sound. Price is good and they offer many different services for your pet. Overall great dog day care!
Update 4/30/24... I was called to fly to Beverly Hills first thing in the morning. I called after hours to set up boarding for Willie and was approved immediately. Shout out to Amanda and Kirk for their steadiness in accomodaring Willie when I travel on business. Another plus, is he has a best friend that's on the same boarding schedule, named Charlie. Every time I drop him off he is super excited to run into the FUN room to play with him, and all the staff talk about how their friendship is so cute. I recommend The Barkmont to everyone I know who has a pet. Forget about wag, rover, and all the other places, Barkmont is the best boarding facility in the bay, hands down. Update 11/23/22... I had a late notice work schedule change on 11/22/22 and needed a place for my dog to stay overnight. With Thanksgiving around the corner, The Barkmont was full and had no available reservations. Shout out to Kirk for making an exception and boarding Willie for me. I picked him up moments ago and he was all wags; I could tell he had an amazing visit at his hoke away from home. 5 stars all the way. I had to get my middle aged dog neutered and spent a week before his surgery looking for a dog sitter or pet hotel to watch him while I was at work. I work 70 hrs per week and couldn't find anyone who could commit that type of time, and furthermore had the ability to take care of a dog post surgery. I tried Rover, Wag, and various dog hotels... set up multiple meet and greets and wasn't happy with the customer service, vibe, ability, availability etc... Finally, the day before Willie's surgery, I found The Barkmont. I called to inquire, and was given an email address for Kirk, the owner. He responded late that night. He genuinely cared about my dogs situation, and put alot of energy into finding a pet sitter to come to my house, but wasn't able to find one. He offered to set me up with a special space onsite, with reliable staff to watch, walk, give meds, and care for my special little guy Willie. Furthermore, this place operates 24/7, amd allowed me to pick up and drop off any time day or night. I noticed Willie was happy every time I picked him up. The greetings I received when I came inside were always pleasant from every staff member, and sensed that everyone who works at The Barkmont feels a special connection with animals... they treated Willie like a member of their pack, and I am forever grateful for the experience they offered. Willie will be allowed to take his cone off tomorrow after his post surgery checkup, and I am excited to make regular reservations in the future so he can play with the happy dogs that stay at the luxurious Barkmont Hotel, Spa, and Day Care on a regular basis when I am at work amd out of town. Big props to Dre, Kirk, Amanda, and the rest of the staff for running the most reputable and capable dog hotel in the bay area. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU ❤️ 💙 💜 💖 💗 💘
The Barkmont is very accommodating and professional. Never been turned down for same day reservations. I love the employees there. My dog Gou Gou definitely loves them. Can’t wait to get out of the car.
We truly consider the Barkmont part of our dogs family. I am so thankful to have a group we can trust when we go out of town to take care of our dog. She always runs right into the door when we drop her off and comes home exhausted from all the fun she has. They are very communicative about policy changes and we respect their choices they make to keep our dog safe. With the increase in kennel cough this winter we were nervous boarding her but they assured us they were consulting with vets and made decisions to protect our pup. We really like that we can see the dogs playing during the day on the webcam and that they also seem to make good decisions about when to put them in quiet time to nap. Our dog does often come home smelly from all the playing, but we've just started adding on a bath to her reservation and she comes home smelling fresh and ready for a long nap. When we have had issues where our travel plans are delayed they are very accommodating and kind and let us pick up later than we expected to. It's just so much less stress knowing we have this understanding group of amazing people taking care of our dog when we are gone. Truly love the Barkmont and so thankful we found them.

My dog Astor LOVES the Barkmont! I began bringing her there at just 4 months old for both daycare and over-night boarding. The facilities are clean and well-maintained. The staff pays close attention during playtime to ensure the safety of all pets. I also love the doggy webcam :) They also have bathing on-site, so after a stay, I get to pick up my Astor tired & clean. Rates are affordable compared to other Bay Area options, and the service is unbeatable!
Artie does such a good job with my Fur babies babies. I would recommend him to anybody hes trustworthy easy going and knows how to work with animals. He also loves his job You can tell by how he is excited to meet you and him and the animals. He goes above and beyond what most other pet sitters and walkers do you can't go wrong with booking with him. He sends pictures and texts updates of what's going on to keep you included which is a plus.
Art has been working with our dog, George, for the past few weeks and has quickly become a favorite. Our dog, who is usually shy around new people, took to Art almost immediately. Art's natural rapport with animals is evident and genuinely impressive. It's a joy to see how excited George gets whenever Art comes by. He was great! Super friendly and despite my dog being usually very energetic he said she was mellow for him, which in my mind is a testament to his skill with animals. She had a great time and despite having a very long drive after she slept the whole way:) (pictures are ones he sent me while watching her, which I appreciated!)

Art is wonderful! I was very happy that my dog, Taz, instantly liked Art; and Art was able to include Taz into the group on the first day! He sent me several pictures, so that I could see that all went well, and Taz was having a marvelous time! So now Taz goes for a walk with Art every week. Hello everyone. I have four Guinea Pigs that are very dear to me. I would like to thank Emily for being reliable and sweet with my pets while I was away. She followed my instructions correctly and always kept me posted. She did an excellent job.The result was that when I got back home, I found my guinea pigs like I was hoping: happy, properly fed and their cages were clean. I highly recommend Happi Dogs.

I was kind reluctant to hire someone off line for dog walking, but Emily and her husband Manish came over to our home for a free consultation and made us feel at ease with their calm demeanor and kind words. The services are also priced well and they are reliable. Now, I love arriving home after work because our dogs are calmer and have had some outdoor time. I highly recommend their dog walking services!!
