Mel, Tobias and little Emile, responded to our request to look after our two dogs. They arrived as arranged the day before to get to know the house, surroundings and the dogs. Nell our elderly Labrador cross is half blind, half deaf and diabetic. She requires Insulin injections twice a day, 12 hours apart. For Mel and Tobias, none of this was any problem. We were away for 2 weeks and we left for our holiday totally relaxed and confident that our house and dogs were in good hands. Mel and Tobias are the most trustworthy and gentle young people you could wish to meet. The dogs loved them, even Harry our rescued dog who fears everything at first, came to be great friends. While we were away They both, tidied the garden, pruning and making a monumental effort in starting the “Dead Hedge” we had described to them, before leaving. It was such a treat to come home to house seemed cleaner than we had left , and a tidy garden ready for Spring. We ate together on our return, treated to Mel's vegetarian Tapas which we shall copy without shame! We enjoyed their company, our discussions, and Emile's angelic smile. The dogs have moped all afternoon, and we shall miss their company. We thoroughly recommend this charming couple to all members and hope that they can return to us in 2024. To Mel, Toby and Emile, a big thank you, and fond wishes, from Paula, Chris, Nell and Harry

Pamela
Pamela was so easy to work with. She's straightforward and is looking to make this a fair exchange for both of us. I enjoyed meeting her, and she was fun to talk with. So it comes as no surprise that her dog, Belle, was just as straightforward and delightful. Easygoing must be the theme of the house!! That lovely dog is just the sweetest!

We enjoyed exploring Durham mostly on foot, but did venture as far as the Eno River at Pamela's suggestion. It was all grand! Hiking, walking, theater, restaurants, gardens, parks, and more... all accessible from Pamela's gorgeous home and we had a great time. Hopefully we can come back sometime!

Patricia and Peter are a very nice couple. Patricia kindly picked me up at the station and also drove me to the supermarket on the first day! The house is comfortable, in a great neighborhood with many Latinos. It has a large garden full of flowers that I watered a lot during the intense summer. Every time I watered, white butterflies would come to enjoy the water! There are several beautiful squirrels. The main protagonists are Buddy and Earl, who were very pampered! Buddy is a beautiful cat, kind, quite round already with a special shape for hugs and kisses; at first a bit shy but quickly opened up; smart, he hydrates a lot in his electronic water fountain and is always attentive to his rotating food bowl! It seems like he knows exactly when it rotates to go there and enjoy fresh food; he also is too lazy to jump through his mini door hahaha then he meows for you to open it hahaha if you're in the kitchen or nearby. So cute! Earl is a stunning bluish-gray cat, more athletic and with a freer spirit, loves affection, very intelligent, really likes pate, and slept every night with us in bed! I loved the whole experience with these lovely cats! Certainly, these babies will be missed in my heart and will bring back many good memories after all it was 1 month of living together! I would definitely repeat the experience as it was very pleasant! I wish all the best to the family and a long life to the cats! Soon I will print the photos of the trip and put them on the fridge and the photos of the babies and they will stay there too.

tyana
Tyana is very sweet and easy to connect with. She and her partner both made sure I felt at home in their home. The cat, Nooshkie, is extremely friendly and has no warm up time; she was playing with me within minutes of my being in her home. The apartment is well located in Toronto, in a nice neighborhood and only 1 block to a subway stop. Highly recommended this house-sit.
