Tanya and Mary made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. They are so friendly. All the information we needed was in a folder and they showed us around and explained everything. They had even got some provisions in for us. The scones and clotted cream were delicious. Such a lovely welcome. Sage and Scout are the most perfect dogs to look after. We have had the most amazing 9 days with them. They are loving, attentive, well behaved, great company, have fantastic recall and are everything you would want from a dog sit. You can take them anywhere and they are no trouble at all. They came with us to the pub/restaurant and lay quietly by us the whole time. The walks were a dream. They both love going in the water, especially Sage. They are great with other dogs too. We are missing them already and would look after them again with no hesitation at all. The house and gardens are beautiful. It was so relaxing and peaceful to stay here. We felt at home immediately. The location is ideal. You are close to Dartmoor with lovely walks and views, and also not far from Exeter. This has been a great dog/house sit. We will definitely be back.
We very much enjoyed hanging out with Poppy. Though a bit shy at first became increasingly accustomed to having us around. We love the way that he came out to greet us in the morning and when he came in after being out a while. His little meow when he wants something is just too cute. Also enjoyed Cynthia’s cozy artsy house and wildflower garden. It was our pleasure to spend time watering and admiring her collection of plants and artifacts. We managed a great little mini workation. We were able to get to see the superbloom at the Poppy Preserve and attend the Poppy Festival, went to yoga classes, and ate out at a great restaurant. What a great petsitting adventure, we’d be happy to do it again!
Luci and Garry are a lovely couple with two lovely dogs! I looked after Mistok and Pearl for a week while exploring Bretagne in February 2023. What a wonderful pair they are. Of course, all dogs have their quirks. Mistok is a gentle soul who is sensitive to noise and sudden movements. You'll need to have a calm demeanour and soft touch when it comes to him. He isn't reactive at all but can scare easily. Just match the gentle, soothing energy he approaches you with and he'll fall in love with you! Pearl is the complete opposite. Ready to play at all times. Enjoys squeaky toys and football games. She may be small but she's a tough cookie with a vibrant personality. They are both great fun to be around, enjoying walks and spells of affection. Luci and Garry left clear instructions so it was easy to care for them. Their routine is not consuming, so you'll still have time to explore the surrounding region if you want to. The mill is stunning. There is underfloor heating and reliable hot water. I was comfortable spending much of my day chilling with the dogs by the fire in between periods of work. The WiFi was reliable and there is English TV. Luci and Garry made sure that I had everything I needed before they left. All in all, I can't recommend this housesit enough! I would be thrilled to return in the future. Thank you Luci and Garry :)
Scott and Elizabeth's farm is beautiful and bucolic. They are such gracious people. I absolutely adored taking care of Jack who is such a great companion and ever so sweet. The chickens were a bonus! Lots of quiet time yet plenty to do in this gorgeous part of NC. You'll love this sit!
Our stay at Spencer and Allison's amazing home in a fantastic part of Washington DC was phenomenal. Before we go into the star of the show (John), we should say how much we loved the accommodation. A fantastic kitchen and living space comes with a massive back yard and a beautiful garden with lots of great plant life (Allison is quite the gardener!). It was the perfect setting for our experience with John, who is genuinely the biggest, funniest bundle of energy that has tons of love to give. An example of his character is his eating habits. He is a grazer, but when he's just had a walk or a play and is excited, he will go to the food bowl, grab a mouthful, and venture back over to you to eat in front of you, maintaining eye contact. He'll do it over and over again until he's full up. He loves a tickle on the chest and cuddling up, is super obedient and well-trained, and is known and loved by the neighbours - the amount of times "hey John!" came over the fence made us think we were sitting a dog-elbrity. Big props, too, to Spencer and Allison, and their beautiful newborn Lewyn. This was their first go at Trusted Housesitters, but you wouldn't think it. They were super communicative, prepped us thoroughly, and even bought us some dinner on the evening they left. Highly recommend this sit.
My sit at this suburb of Detroit was great! Located 30 min away from the airport (for the travelers), with great restaurants and shops close by. I did the pet & house sitting during winter so I was not able to use the pool, but this house is very comfortable and with great amenities. Bed and pillows were great! The 3 cats are adorable, with different personalities. With them collectively you will have a great balance of snuggles and play. Roman and Lily love to play with laser and wands with humans. Neeka is the snuggle queen. Many things are automated (water fountain/ feeder), thus the cat care was really straight forward. Liv was great communicating, left detailed instructions and was very thoughtful with the snack welcome basket. I recommend this sit 100%
