Matt & Rebekah went the extra mile in caring for our newly adopted dog, Hank. When they first scheduled the sit, we had an older, well trained dog, Indy. However, we sadly lost our beloved Indy a little over two months before they were to arrive. We began fostering Hank, a young, minimally trained, higher energy dog who was not crate trained. When informed of this change, Matt and Rebekah chose to take on the challenge. It was indeed a challenge! They cared for Hank, did an excellent job of monitoring him, and even met several times with our dog trainer to continue Hank's education. They kept in touch with us with photos and updates on his shenanigans. Since Hank was not fully crate trained, we did arrange for a friend to come give them a few breaks so that they could enjoy outings together. After nearly a month of travel, we came home to a neat house, a wonderful home cooked meal, and a well cared for dog. We recommend them highly and would not hesitate to have them sit for us again so they can experience the difference Hank's maturity coupled with continued good training can accomplish.
I really enjoyed looking after Dexter, Fiona's handsome ten-year-old Labradoodle. He is my perfect dog. He’s easygoing, gentle and non-demanding. He immediately adapted to my presence, enjoyed being with me and slept on the floor in my room. I felt accepted and trusted for such was his loving nature. We went for long walks every day. There were lots of local walks. He was a dream dog on the lead and never pulled against me. He was good off the lead too and stayed close. I frequently checked to see where he was, and would usually find him trotting along at my heels as if on the lead. He came when I called and loved his reward treats. He was friendly but sensitive and didn't intrude uninvited into the personal space of other dogs or people. He enjoyed retrieving balls. I loved how he always looked at me and responded immediately to my voice. He was either well trained or a very intune-to-his-mistress dog. Dexter made me look like a dog whisperer. Fiona was an amazing host. Her home was spacious and tastefully decorated. It was warm, clean and well organised with everything I could need. The wifi worked well. Communication was excellent before and during my stay. Fiona provided some written information which was very useful. She kindly picked me up from the train station when I arrived. Before she left they made sure I understood and was confident with Dexter's routine and the house. Fiona was very generous, cooking me a gourmet dinner on the first night, buying me food and inviting me to eat whatever I wanted. Fiona provided food for me, despite knowing that this wasn't necessary. She was such an interesting and kind person and I was sorry that we didn't have more time together. I loved Edinburgh. I caught the bus into town for several days and enjoyed seeing the sites but there were so many more to see that I didn't have time for. I would highly recommend this house-sit to others and would love to look after Dexter again

I have taken my dog BB here for boarding several times over the past few years. She also gets her nails clipped, and glands done monthly. The staff is friendly and the facility is welcoming.
We brought my family's cats here when we were gone a couple days. They took good care of them. We asked if they'd do nails and a wash too but for some reason they didn't do it. My guess is that it's because when we met the groomer he told us he'd try but if the cat isn't going for it they would not force it. So I think they felt they weren't into it? Im not sure. He wasn't there when we picked the cats up so I couldn't ask. Other than that it's a safe affordable option to keep your pet in a space like its own little hotel room.

I boarded my Samoyed at “Tails of Terra Linda” for 10 days in July. I was anxious about leaving her there because I had never left her in a commercial facility before and thought she might have a difficult time adapting. The kennels and group play spaces appear very clean and the staff are quite friendly and happy to answers lots of questions. When I picked her up she had clearly bonded with the dog handlers, she looked great and seemed happy. Now when i bring Juno there for day care, she pulls me with her tail wagging to the front door .
This place is beyond the best! I cannot begin to tell you what great care they give to my dog. He cannot wait to go there and play each day. The "hotel" boarding is wonderful and I have so much trust that he is in the best hands when I'm traveling. Oh- and their groomer is AMAZING!
Our dogs enjoy Tails. They have been going here for four years. The facility is clean, staff is super responsive and our dogs always come home happy. I would highly recommend this kennel.
Horrible experience . I was out of town and my 80 year old mom and 81 year old aunt had to join me. They where manipulated, no written estimate nothing. Bill first started at $1800 . I contacted the owner, his immediate response was his business was with my mom not me. My dog got kennel cough, a severe eye infection even though they supposedly gave Jackson the vaccine for kennel cough. Then they almost gave my mom the wrong dog upon her return.

Patti instantly bonded with our dog and made us feel at ease leaving her under Patti’s care. We received daily pictures of their walks and on hot days the dogs had popsicles in the shade of her amazing outdoor space. We were concerned our dog may not want to come home. Highly recommend!!
I have been a client of Having a Ball for nearly two years now. My Bernedoodle Wesley absolutely loves Having a Ball! Aside from being great with my fuzzy pal, they are professional and communicative with me. After going out with Paul and the crew for a couple weeks I started to notice my "willful" puppy become more obedient. He also learned how to interact with other dogs which made walking him off and on leash so much more enjoyable! In addition to having a great time with his dog friends, Wesley's good behaviors get reinforced and his negative behaviors are expertly corrected by the Having a Ball staff. The only place my dog likes being boarded at. He's typically shy and reserved and doesn't like strangers but when we walk into Tail Haven he runs up to the staff and gives them licks. I can't recommend them enough, they really seem to care for your furry friend. I board here with 100% confidence knowing that my dog is in the best hands.

I have a Great Pyrenees, who is a total love, but a lot of work. The staff at Tail Haven always treats him with such patience and love. Julia, Brian and the rest of the staff make me feel so at ease when I’m at work or traveling and he is in their care. I couldn’t recommend Tail Haven more!
The staff at The Tail Haven Hotel & Day Lounge are so helpful and kind. Both Lili and Mat offered such great customer care when I was looking for daycare for my dog. Lili took the time to get me set up in the system when I called and had a daycare request to make with short notice for the next day. Mat was also very helpful in sharing about my dog's time during the in-take/observation appointment. Thanks, Tail Haven!

***Update 3/27 *** Pictures are being uploaded again! :) _______________________________________ Wish the San Rafeal site uploaded pictures again... We where told we'd have pics during the holidays, but we didn't receive any. But other than that, this place is amazing, my pup is always so happy! Not like WAG Hotels where he looked so sad and super ready to dash out of there! The tail Haven is a great place with great staff for your pup! This is definitely our permanent boarding place :)
I just can't say enough good about this place. My dogs were well taken care of but just as important my worry wort partner was so afraid that one of our three Keeshounds was not doing well that he actually booked a flight from Montana so he could check on her. Nuts right? Well the staff here stepped up to the plate and made sure that we got a few extra pics of Rosie smiling and having fun and allowed him to relax and trust the staff to do their jobs. No place is perfect but I trust The Tail Haven to care for and protect our dogs they were happy and healthy when we picked them up and that's good enough for us.
I have no doubt that my dog was well-cared for on his recent stay but I was distressed that when I picked him up he stank of dog urine so badly that I needed to take him immediately for a $17 bath. My dog is 7 and has boarded since he was a pup. There was only one other time that I had this experience in Baltimore and was told that other dogs were peeing on him. I hope this wasn't the case here but I don't have another explanation.
My dear friend who lives in Fairfax discoverer Tail Haven several months ago. I help from time to time with dropping off Willow and picking her up. The facility is beautiful, clean, and the staff there are wonderfully friendly and professional. They get to know the dogs in their care- little quirks and preferences. I highly recommend Tail Haven for dog day care.
Awesome place and CLEAN! My dog is always pooped when I pick him up and sometimes a little wet, but that's because the staff hose down the yard to keep clean and to manage those crazy barkers... Also nice to know that the building is staffed 24 hours just incase of an emergency which makes me sleep better when I leave for vacations. Thanks Tail Haven!
