It was an absolute treat spending some time at this pet sit and home sit. It’s an amazing home, with a beautiful garden in a safe and convenient location. David and Darrel went out of their way to make me feel welcome, and their instructions were really clear and concise, leaving no questions unanswered. Master Obi the Wonder Dog, is adorable. He loves a brush, playing fetch, and be prepared to get your steps up, as Obi loves a walk and nature exploration. Luckily there is a cemetery and Hampstead nearby. I wouldn’t hesitate to sit for Darrel and David anytime in the future.
This was a great sit. The house was very comfortable and the cats were awesome and low maintenance. Instructions were crystal clear and I didn’t have any issues.
We had cosy days with cat Mixxy, Pippa was on holiday too! The communication with Lilian and Patrick was very good, also during the sit we could ask questions. The characteristic house is with every convenience and on a beautiful spot!!
Had an amazing time at Vanessa's in Halifax - a true home away from home! Her place is just lovely, a nice change from the usual city hustle of London, and surrounded by stunning views. Vanessa couldn't have been a better host - easy to chat with and even volunteered to pick me up from the train station. Her dogs, Volare and Leo, are total sweethearts and perfect companions. It's honestly hard to leave them behind! They are very gentle and smart dogs who love to sleep a lot, so caring for them was very easy :) Whether you're keen on exploring Halifax, a nature lover, or simply need a fresh scene, Vanessa's place is a top pick. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
Emma and John are great hosts - they've been house-sitters themselves and have plenty of experience hosting house-sitters from this site. They have an established process, which works well. Communication is efficient and there are no surprises. We especially appreciated their efforts to live lightly on the planet via recycling, composting, solar panels, rainwater capture, etc. Their home is lovely. It is new and functional, cosy, and the right size to feel comfortable in. Their garden and their allotment did not require any care from us, but seem designed for low maintenance. The town is picturesque. We loved how friendly the townspeople were - their friendliness and kindness really helped us through our extremely rickety command of the French language. Generally, the friendliness and kindness of all the people we met during our excursions was a real highlight for us. Henry and Shanti are great cats. Henry is slowing down due to his age, but he takes his medicine without complaining and giving him his medicine does not require special skills. Shanti is playful and energetic. Both are good at communicating their needs. We enjoyed that the cats hopped up and slept on our bed with us most nights - Henry curled up, Shanti stretched out : ) We thoroughly enjoyed our weeklong stay - we're now totally sold on SW France and we hope to return to either this great sit opportunity or others in the area! A highly recommended sit!
