Lauren was great. We were out of cell phone reception for the time she was sitting and she did a great job of communicating with us before our trip so we knew everything would work out well while we were gone. She sent us pictures and updates that all came through when we had service again and made us feel grateful that everything had gone well during her time here.
Rupert and Jo were very welcoming and provided us with all of the information we required regarding their beautiful home and the adorable Charlie. This is a fantastic location for walking and when not out exploring with Charlie we were relaxing in the garden and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Charlie is a very gentle and easy going companion. He was a joy to be with. I would not hesitate to return at some point if we are able.
Andrew and Philippa are a lovely couple with a gorgeous home. They were very kind, helpful and attentive, leaving plenty of clear instructions for the house and for Hugo. Hugo himself is a delight and such a happy, well behaved dog. We couldn't recommend them more.
What a lovely sit! Lucy was such a fun little companion and a pleasure to look after. The morning outings on the roof were such a great start to the day, and her personality kept each day together fresh. Oh and Kim’s a wonderful host! Her effortlessly clear manner made it really easy to take care of Lucy and keep in touch with. I loved my time in her thoughtfully curated space — a perfect environment for creative outlets. Would definitely sit again!
Staying at Marti's place and taking care of Hudson was wonderful in every way! Hudson is a super-sweet dog, and really fun to be around. There is a dog park just down the street that he loves to go to where he can sniff around off leash. He is great on walks provided that you steer clear of other large dogs, which is easy to do. Marti's house is super clean and neat, and extremely comfortable. Communication was great from start to finish. And the area is a lot of fun to explore, with great sites to visit (I highly recommend the Carl Sandberg Historical Home tour), hikes, cideries, bakeries, live music, etc. etc. all within an easy 10-15 minute drive.
We had a nice stay over the weekend in the house from Polly and her family. We had everything that we needed and the cats had been very nice. My son loved it when they were both lying on his legs. We really enjoyed our stay.
Jenna's house was wonderful and as described. I was able to set up and work in the office as if it were my own and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Jenna was a prompt communicator and I appreciated her efforts to ensure I'd be comfortable. The cats were very easy to care for and Mr Snickers, the black cat, was impossible not to fall in love with. Lavender (the dog) was also as sweet as promised despite breaking her toe just a few days before the sit. Overall my sit at Jenna's was a positive experience though I was surprised to learn about Lavender's appetite for paper goods after the sit was confirmed. This detail was noted on the care instructions but because it wasn't mentioned previously, I didn't imagine that it would be a habit that would require the kind of awareness that, while probably automatic in the long run, was an adjustment for an outsider staying for a short time.
