Linda and Tony were absolutely fantastic! They left the house in great shape and took excellent care of the kitties. Good communication before and during! I hope they will be free during our next vacation; would love to have them back anytime.
Daryl, Chris and Jazz are pros at this. The home and location are perfect.Daryl and Chris are super warm and welcoming and Jazz is a dream. Such an easygoing old boy. He loved his walks, his plays with the ball , his little treats and evening snuggles. He got on great with Chase and they played on the park. The house and welcome back was explained throughly and we met Daryl and Chris before the sit. An absolutely perfect sit and we hope our dates fit another time.
Adored my time in Echo Park with Woozle and the cutest creative house. Woozle is one of the most chill easy to care for and easy to love pups I've ever met. We had a great time going on walks around the nearby Echo Park Lake, and enjoying the cozy bungalow in the evenings. The only hard part was having to say goodbye to Woozle!! Highly recommend!
This sit was a lovely experience. Kenai is a sweetheart. We got along well and his little dig-in cuddles had me smiling. He was most excited about his walks and food time! We also played a bit of ball toss, which worked best for him off the grassy areas so he could see the ball better. He could be a little skittish at times, but calmed quickly with a gentle voice and reassuring pets. If you sleep in the downstairs guest room, know that he’s too small to jump on the bed and may get upset, so help him by putting a chair next to the bed and guide him to hop on the chair and then to the bed since he prefers not to be picked up. He’ll be your little shadow most of the time, but he also goes off on his own a bit, too. I enjoyed meeting Kate in advance and she showed me the house and garden and all I needed to know for sitting for Kenai. The house is beautifully designed and intentional and quite peaceful. Kate was communicative, available for questions and a gracious and understanding host, especially when I was (more than) concerned about over-watering the plants in the garden. The heat wave was on my side, but I also took measures to ensure it turned out well. The neighborhood is super ideal for walking with lots of green space and sidewalks on every street. For travelers who love the arts, several galleries are open on the weekend near the train station. There’s a bus, but it’s also very walkable. This was a lovely sit! Highly recommend.
Cathy and Jerry’s home is a wonderful place to stay. I walked into a clean and well appointed home, and of course, to their sweet dog, Leonard. Leonard initially barked for all of two minutes, as well he should, since I was a stranger entering his premises. I sat down away from Leonard to give him space, and happened to grab his dog walking harness, at which point he lit up right away, and we became fast friends. Cathy and I kept in communication every day. I sent short 30 second video clip here, and there, along with photos and apprised of where Leonard and I were adventuring. All went well. Leonard sleeps well, behaves well. He likes to travel in the car go into stores, and walk on soft dirt trails. He is a cuddle bunny; loves his belly rubbed, kisses and hung out with me on the couch. The only caveat is that if Leonard happens to get out past the gate, it can be hard to get him back. That never happened to me. He never got past the gate. You just have to stay very aware to keep the gate on the deck closed at all times. Leonard is very good at listening to stayed back from the gate when I was coming and going. You just have to keep an eye on him when going in and out of the deck gate. The house is very comfortable. Just love all the stonework throughout. Everything was easy to find and use. Very clean. A nice king-size bed with soft sheets, and air-conditioned. Plenty of parking. This home is located in a secure gated community, which made me feel even more safe. There’s a beautiful lake and a golf course, a Clubhouse. I really enjoyed sitting out on the tiled deck lanai in the evening to enjoy the warm summer nights. The teakwood furniture, sofas and chairs were so comfortable. I would be honored to come back and housesit with Leonard again in the future. My stay was highly pleasant. Woof.
