All I can say is : What a Star!! Elaine is super friendly and really well-organised. On returning from our trip, the house looked beautiful , the garden had been well looked-after and Meg the C at had fallen in love with her... if we had allowed it, she would probably got in the car with Elaine when she left for her next Sit. There is no doubt that Elaine takes her role seriously; we both kept in touch on WhatsApp and while away, we were treated to Meg-Updates and beautiful photos and videos that let us know how happy she was. We can thoroughly recommend her to both dog and cat owners, as her texts from her previous sitting showed the lovely time that both animals were having. It was a pleasure to meet Stephanie the day before we left. She listened to our suggestions re: pets, managing our woodburner boiler etc and when we arrived home our floors were sparkîing for at least 10 minutes before Astrid arrived home to greet us! Although the weather was awful for her, Stephanie remained bright and cheerful throughout her sit and adventures, being stuck in the mud with our dog and her car at one point. We’d recommend her to anyone, particularly first-timers who can be unsure of what they’re getting in to. We’d like to have Stephanie back next year when we do our two month trip to Australia, but suspect she will have lots of bookings already. Very happy humans and pets indeed.
Portia Caroline came to me with a lot of promise. I had many applicants, but she insisted that she knew Santa Cruz and her son lived here. She will take care of Kim as needed. I told her Kim is a very active dog and loves to be outdoors. But unfortunately, she kept Kim in the backyard and took him for walks at her convenience only in the neighborhood. My spouse and I are very distressed to see Kim's vomit and urine on the living room and family room carpets, and the whole place is stinking. When I requested that Portia take Kim on neighborhood hikes, she feared Cayotes. I asked a friend to take Kim for his favorite hike in the neighborhood, and Portia would not even accompany her. Portia is an urban person and is used to an obedient dog following commands and being on a leash. My dog Kim loves nature and his freedom. She was not the right match for my dog.
