Alasdair, Christine, Tristan, and Ekat were great hosts, and taking care of their 30+ fur family was an experience to remember. The responsibilities were clearly outlined, and the family has in place some great friends and supporters to assist. Christine and Alasdair were also very responsive throughout our stay. Caring for the indoor pets, plants, and stable animals provided a rhythm of wholesome work that was a perfect fit for us. Depending on the length of time, we recommend at least two sitters, a couple, or one experienced caretaker when considering a sit. Any challenges with caring for the animals, including a particular temperamental rooster and an unforeseen hospital visit for one of their sweet canines, were dwarfed by how much love the family and pets had to give. I loved all the animals but must leave a shout-out to Teena, clever Shadow, and dearest Turner 🐶 who I bonded with most. He is resilient and cheerful and lives up to the adage that "dogs are a man's best friend." We wish you all the best and do reach out if you ever visit Western NC. P.S. consider yourself in good favor if Socks graces you with his presence. 🐱
Can't say enough good things about this stay. Their home is gorgeous with all the amenities to be comfortable and cozy, yet not feel like you are living 'around' someone else's space, it's clean and clutter free. I felt welcomed and able to move with ease. S & B are were generous and very communicative to be sure I had all the information and resources needed at hand, not only to care for the animals but to feel cared for and welcome. I always send daily photos and updates of the pets; occasionally I have to ask if this is desired as some people do not want the distraction while away. However, Sam was very communicative and checked in via text to be sure I had arrived and had all I needed and they warmly appreciated the updates and photos. I never felt I was bothering them if something came up and I had a question. Of course, the best part was the animals! I honestly don't think I've ever sat for such a well behaved and even tempered crew. They clearly love them soo much and have provided them with the training and security they need to have NO behavioral issues. The dogs and cats are sweet, friendly, receptive and responsive to whatever I asked of them. They have really raised the bar for me on the gold standard and as I write this I wish I'd asked if there was a specific method of training they adhered to, other than the consistent love and attention they are obviously getting. Finally the neighborhood is lovely, quiet, very safe, and equidistant to many things if you're interested in exploring the area. 5-stars and highly recommend all around!
This was an amazing sit. Steve did a very thorough job explaining all the responsibilities ahead of time. Tucker is the sweetest pupper that ever lived. What a gentle giant. He has such a fun and sweet disposition, we loved getting to know him. This sit we were able to bring our daughters with ages 9&11 and the home was well equipped with puzzles and games, and our girls loved playing in the yard with Tucker and taking him on walks. He is so gentle with everyone. Scooter was a blast! We didn’t have much experience caring for birds prior to this sit. We were complete newbies but Steve prepared very thorough videos so we would know exactly what to expect and how to care for Scooter and she provided a weeks worth of learning and entertainment…between her vast vocabulary and her fun personality “pretty birdie want a piece of cheese” we had such an enjoyable week in Bella Vista. The home is so comfortable and the hosts made us feel super comfortable in their beautiful home. Thank you for allowing us to bring our daughters and for creating such a warm family environment to stay in for a week. We would love to come back and care for Tucker and Scooter again. We miss them already!!
Great communication with Katja and Bob. They answered my questions about the house and the cat during the pet sitting. The two cats were nice and cute, and are really affectionate. The apartment is in a good location and spacious, it's a nice place to rest and work. I would recommend this sitting and I hope to petsit Sammy and Lalie in the future.
Housesitting for Katherine and Stefan was an absolute pleasure! In addition to providing a detailed set of instructions, Katherine and Stefan also gave me a thorough tour of their home before leaving for their trip. During the housesit, both were quick-to-respond to any questions or comments I had. Katherine and Stefan also appreciated regular photos and updates about their kitty. Keeko is an easy kitty to love. She is very social, appreciating lots of pets and rubs. She enjoyed sitting on my lap and snuggling together at night. I love, love, love that Keeko was attached at my hip. She followed me around everywhere I went -- a true bestie. She's a very smart kitty -- very intuitive and very much able to read my mood and thoughts. There aren't too many kitties like that! Keeko is truly special. Katherine and Stefan live in a lovely home in the Ballard neighborhood. They are within walking distance to all the amenities you might possibly need. Thank you so much, Katherine and Stefan, for sharing your kitty with me. I look forward to sitting for you again in just a few weeks!
Fran was a fantastic host from beginning to end and Muppet was a joy to care for. Communication was great from the beginning, Fran was super friendly, prompt and helpful throughout. Her trip away was very stressful for her but she always took time to catch up and ask if things were going well for me. Muppet is a sweet, playful and affectionate cat. We got along from the start but over the three months I saw his trust grow even more and become super relaxed and contented. Fran has a lovely home which she made me feel very welcome in from the start. She left me lots of information about the local area and took time to introduce me to her lovely neighbours. Her home is in a great location for trains, Horsham town centre, local walks and supermarkets. I can highly recommend this sit. Thank you Fran and Muppet for such a lovely stay 😺
