It was indeed a pleasure to look after Ben and Tara. We were blessed, if that is the right word, with lovely weather and on several days the cats and myself found the cool of the downstairs of the house more to our liking than the heat of the outside. I am relieved that the beans survived the heat, much assiduous watering once the day had done its worst. Ben is amazing, he has a good appetite which Tara likes to think she is copying but is a mere shadow. I would love to be invited back Best regards Val
I loved this house sit and was grateful that Scott and Susan not only gave me the opportunity but allowed me to bring my sister-in-law (Tracey) along to experience her first house sit. The house is modern, welcoming and cosy. The dogs can make you feel a little nervous at your first meeting simply because all 6 try to say hello to you at the same time. But once you know all their personalities, each one is funny and loving. The garden has a great outdoor space for the dogs and you can take a coffee and have a sit down and watch them as they play. The dogs either slept in the main bedroom or in one of the bedrooms myself or Tracey were in. They definitely know when it is breakfast time and think it is a great idea to start play fighting on the bed, which is comical to watch. All of the dogs liked a snuggle, Ice likes to have a howl every once in a while to let you know she is there. And Maurice is a gentle soul who needs time and space to get to know you and then he’ll surprise you by joining you for a cuddle on the sofa. The dogs can be left for a short period of time so we had lunch out in Durham and breakfast in Bishop Auckland as they are both close by. Communication with Susan throughout the weekend was very good and she answered any queries I had. If you love dogs then this is a great house sit and one I am hoping to return to in the future.
My time at Elizabeth and Greg's home was just for a weekend but it was great! Their home is comfortable and in a great location but the highlights were the pets! Forrest was laid back and mellow with me and slept at least part of the night with me along with the two pups. Those pups are so well trained and easy to care for and really great on the leash! This was a great experience but too short so I hope we can arrange to meet again in the future!
Oh, sweet little Sara - I love this dog so much. Cassie was really transparent about Sara's separation anxiety but overall, she was a pleasure to watch and just needed lots of cuddles! Cassie was so communicative, flexible, and accommodating every step of the way. Cassie's place is right on the park next to the B/Q so there's really no better location than this. Can't wait to hang with little Sara again someday!
Helen was lovely, really friendly and welcoming, and gave us all the info we needed for taking care of Roscoe. We really enjoyed getting to know Roscoe, he's such a sweet cat, very chatty and affectionate. The house was lovely and we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend!
Watching Minga and April was quite a pleasure! They are 16 and still have a lot of spunk in them. They are very independent, loving and fun. Mirium was awesome! Very friendly, communicated well and her house is very cozy and in a beautiful location. I really enjoyed sitting on the porch listening to the river and going on small walks in the neighborhood. I'm looking forward to staying again with the kitties.
