We had a fantastic time in Lucinda's large house and garden. The three dogs, 2 cats and 3 chickens were great to look after - all with their own individual personalities. It was a delight to sit in the garden with our wine on a beautiful summers' evening. There are wonderful walks around on the Pewsey Downs and along the banks of the Kennett and Avon canal, that we enjoyed, keeping us and the dogs fit. Highly recommend staying here. My stay with Kim and Geoff was absolutely fantastic 😁 They ensured to pick me up from the station and took me to the grocery store before arriving at the house (a gorgeous house 😍) to make sure I had enough food for my stay. Kim was kind enough to prepare a delicious meal the night before and both Kim and Geoff showed me around the ropes, allowing me to feel well-prepared for my stay! 😀 There was also a bus just outside their home that goes to Tesco in Royston (and is near Royston station) so if you don't have a car like I did, you can still be alright. Pickle and Merlin are such good and sweet dogs. They're very easy to take care of with just 1 or 2 walks around 20-30 minutes. The walk is lovely in a field. Pickle and Merlin love to follow you around, cuddle, and nap! 😍 No problems with them barking although at night they can bark but from where they sleep at night and where the bedroom is, you can barely hear it. You'll love them to pieces 💗 I loved this family. I felt like a part of their own family and even spent a lot of time with their other family nearby. I'll miss them so much and hope to sit for them again in the future 😊
One of the most organised houses I've ever been too. You've literally got everything you need in the beautiful leafy suburb of Molesey. Tracey was always available for support, and Beau & Stacey were fantastic to be around. I hope to be back soon.
This sit was outstanding. Hadley & Parker are very charming cats and like a fuss. They took a day to get used to us but by the end there were tummy rubs and chin scratches all round. Elspeths’ home is so beautiful and very clean and tidy. There is a very cosy living room, big kitchen completely equipped and the bedrooms are a lovely size (and very comfy too). The gardens were a highlight for us as we are garden people and we were very lucky with the weather. The garden and grounds are stunning and a perfect place to sun bath or stargaze. Elspeth communicated fantastically, any question we had were answered and we were made to Gee right at home. Overall, a great weekend spent! Thank you for having us ?
Grizzie's is a great base in town for anyone wanting to explore Cheltenham. I arrived 24 hours before Grizzie and Dave set off and they put me on their parking permit so I could park right outside. After showing me around they went out to dinner and I managed to lose Phlotus before the sit had even begun! We all thought the cat flap was locked but Phlotus decided to test his new sitter by going awol and despite calling him, no Phlotus! Unfortunately I couldn't reach Grizzie or Dave so after leaving a few messages I reluctantly went to bed. You can imagine my relief the next morning when they told me Phlotus had met them on the back lane to escort them home! It turns out that although they prefer him in at night it's not a disaster if he stays out longer than he should and you can set the catflap so it locks behind him when he does return. The next day Grizzie showed me the routine with Tortellini and we walked into town together before she and Dave went out for lunch. On their return they packed up the cars and were off and the sit began! Phlotus is a handsome, charismatic cat with the fluffiest tail I've ever seen. He's fairly independent but enjoys pampering and might join you in bed in the morning for some snuggling. As for Tortellini, well to my great surprise I was really smitten. Tortellini enjoys company, a shallow bath, a leg stretch and believe it or not, a stroke and a chin rub! Watching Tortellini devour dandelion flowers and kale with such passion was a joy and now every time I see dandelion flowers Tortellini springs to mind! Grizzie's comfortable townhouse is arranged over 5 floors and you'll use all of them, so it's great for getting some steps in! It's in a leafy square and has an enclosed courtyard garden fully covered by security cameras. As you'll see from their listing they are very security conscious. If you crave more green space Painswick Rococo garden and Batsford arboretum are a drive away and both highly recommended if you have a car. Grizzie doesn't use the THS welcome guide preferring to share the details with sitters on their arrival. Other than that it was an enjoyable sit and it's undoubtedly a great base for exploring Cheltenham.
I could have used a little more info about what was where in the house,, the kitchen especially. Lots and lots of cupboards and drawers.
