Zelda is the absolute sweetest! We had a wonderful week with her at Whitney & Sasha's, super conveniently located off the Joe Rodota trail and across the street from the Barlow. Zelda got a gazillion compliments on her stunning good looks from practically everyone we passed on every outing and walk and most everyone was eager to pet and say hi to her. She was well-mannered and very gentle and tolerant with our 5 year old. We all had a great time with her and will surely miss her!
It was a pleasure to sit for Carl & Jenny and look after George & Max. Carl & Jenny have a lovely home and were very welcoming upon our arrival. George is an extremely friendly, energetic and adorable dog. Max is a bit more timid but easy going and once he gets to know you is quite affectionate. We really enjoyed looking after them both and highly recommend this house sit.
Hemley Hall is a really spectacular place to stay, the house is something else, and Flossie and Rosie were lovely dogs to care for. The walks nearby are idyllic, and the dogs can pretty much be off lead the whole way which is nice. Rosie is very well trained, and Flossie potters along in her own time as she’s very old. The pool guys, gardener, electrician, plumber and cleaner were all lovely 🥰 The chickens provided lovely tasty eggs and are easy to care for. 🐓 My only note would be that I found it a bit odd that there were Airbnb guests while Amanda and Simon were away. I wasn’t made aware of this until two nights before the sit and it did worry me as I really don’t have much free time outside of work and animal care. The guests were lovely but unfortunately had a few issues which they needed help with. As I work full time from home it was a bit stressful, because of course I wasn’t going to leave them in the lurch. Unfortunately nipping people to the train station when they lose their car keys and are unable to get a taxi is an hour round trip in this area… but that’s the countryside for ya! 😅 All in all, Amanda and Simon are lovely people and they made us feel at home in The Hall. We would absolutely return as long as there was no expectation for managing the Airbnb. ❤️
I've now cared for six dogs through Trusted Housesitters and have fallen in love with exactly one of them: Stella. She is the most wonderful dog! Her love of water is my favorite. I got so much joy seeing her get so much joy out of swimming, wading, and even just getting her belly into the nearest puddle. If you have the opportunity to spend time with her, don't pass it up! Lloyd and Margie are great too. They'd have to be to have a dog like this!
Caroline and Stuart are kind and welcoming. Caroline's communication was clear, and she provided detailed instructions. Their home is beautiful, clean, and conveniently located. It's so nice to have a fenced in yard for quick potty breaks. Pinto Bean is such a sweet dog and an excellent hiking companion. Baloo is a silly cat who loves being brushed while he eats. Highly recommend sitting for them!
I had an absolutely amazing housesitting experience at Veselina's place. She lives in a cosy apartment in a private and peaceful area, just out of the city centre but still easily accessible by public transport or on foot. There are beautiful walks through the (enormous) forests and along the river right by her place. Veselina made sure to check that I had everything I needed and clearly outlined to me Simba's needs and care. Simba is a cat full of character, who knows what he likes and doesn't! He is very entertaining and enjoyable company, I even played fetch with him! He enjoys company and often came and sat next to me when I was sitting down. Veselina was very responsive if I had a question or needed any help with anything. I found Luxembourg a refreshing and restorative retreat, I would happily housesit for Veselina again. Thank you!
