What a lovely sit! Such a peaceful, rural setting which was glorious even in the rain! Jeanne and Juan were so well organised and welcoming, we really enjoyed chatting and getting to know them a little as well as understanding about the set up for water and power and the animal routines before they set off. It was a pleasure to walk the dogs, especially Elsa who is so joyful on her outings. If you fancy a detox from modern day life (but with TV and good WiFi!) then this is the sit for you! We loved it!
I had a great time with Duke and Remy, the dogs, in Sins. They so sweet, cuddly and just a pleasure to be around. If you don't mind they will even sleep with you. Exploring Lucerne was just awesome and you reach it in appropriate 30 minutes drive or by train. Walking around Sins was nice too and the supermarket is only a 10-15min walk away. I was lucky to meet the whole family and i like to say they all are just lovely and beautiful people. It was easy to communicate with and I got even picked up and drop off at the station. Thank you all for the hospitality you showed me and I can only recommend this house sit. I definitely would come back if I am around.
Lily was a dream to look after; gentle, affectionate and eager to play. She walks easily on a leash and - if you have a tennis ball handy - very easy to please! Our hosts' two bedroom apartment was immaculate and easy to keep clean (Lily hardly seems to shed), with a breathtaking view of the St. George's harbour. The Old Towne is only minutes away by foot, with a number of interesting walks (both for dogs and without), and a number of good restaurants. All in all this was a lovely housesit - Lily was great company, the flat was very comfortable and the walks along the Railway Trail and through the town were pleasant and interesting.
Loved sitting with Gato and Chilli, both gorgeous kitties with lovely characters. Chilli is very affectionate and is always up for a good belly rub and while Gato takes a little longer to warm up he's still very sweet and also clever and he loves to play. Renato was great and communication was smooth - would recommend! The flat was great in a part of London i'd not explored before. A walk across to Trinity Bay Wharf to see the 'singing' lighthouse was fun. Looks like there's an interesting nightlife around there too, just as an observation.
Michelle was very communicative at all times and made things very easy for us. She left everything in the appartment ready and let us feel like home. She even gave us lots of tips on what to do and see in the city. Looking after Stu and Mishka was a true pleasure. They are so cuddling! Thanks for trusting us to take care of them!
Polly was worried about traffic to the airport so decided to leave before we got there so we never actually met physically other than a WhatsApp call months prior to the sit. The dogs were very vocal and Mara initially unsure (naturally as 2 strangers came into her house 🙂 ) Polly had What's App'd most relevant info re the house but there was no welcome pack which I think would be beneficial for future sitters as we had no Emergency contact details nor any vet details. The dogs themselves are so lovely natured in the home. Their characters are so cute and individual - Mara has a cheeky smile when excited and Murphy is just so loving and craves cuddles. Mara was quite aloof initially but warmed to us after a few days when she realised we were there to stay. Murphy - such a sweet boy. Both of them got on really well with our 2 dogs (also Labs) which Polly kindly let us bring along so the 4 of them had such fun. For future sitters it is best to know a little bit about their character and behaviour out on walks which we learnt as the days went by. Murphy tends to run off on his own and comes back when he feels like it. Mara is in a world of her own. They both have a tendency to run towards people which we found challenging because they have no recall and Mara tends to bark and growl as she runs which can be quite scary for those people. Because of this I would advise keeping them on a lead because once they get sight, that's it, they are off. Having the fields on the doorstep makes the nighttime relief easy - although each day we took them out in the car to the mainly beautiful Ashdown Forest, Winnie the Pooh land, Mark Stakes Wood, Duddleswell Area, Malling Down Nature Reserve - All lovely walks - paid parking through the App RingGo. The wet and windy weather didn't detract from the fun with M & M - Thanks for having us
