Candace was a very reliable and conscientious sitter. She asked important questions before the sit, such as whether meds needed to be administered. She was willing to give my dog her arthritis supplement, which showed her RN experience. She also checked with me to ensure she was giving the correct food, as I had too many choices on the counter. I appreciated all the care and questions she asked. She kept in touch with me to provide updates with pictures. She even made the extra effort of washing and putting clean sheets back on the beds. Her pleasing nature and pleasant personality made the whole experience feel safe and comfortable for all of us.

Christopher

Watching Wilco was great. He is such a sweet boy! Was very easy to care for. Couple walks a day and he loved to play outside in the yard. Loved to cuddle on the couch and being brushed. We would watch him again no question. 

Chris was also great with communication. The house was very nice. Big and open layout. Comfortable living room and great kitchen. Just like or better than the pictures.

Claire

This was my first cat sitting with trustedhousesitter and I couldn't have had a better experience! 

Claire and Jose provided me with all the information I needed, including pictures and videos since we unfortunately weren't able to meet up in person before they left. We also communicated while they were away, and Claire was always quick to respond if I had any questions.

Caring for the three cats and home is really easy, I did not have any problems.
Pepino, Pintxo and Palomita are very affectionate and will cuddle up next to you to be petted. They love to get lots of attention so be prepared for some serious playtime! :)

The appartment is in the most perfect location I would say, a short walk from different parks and only about 30min by foot from the city center and the train station. There is an Underground and S-Bahn station close by too, as well as various supermarkets. The appartment itself is spacious, with high ceilings and uniquely furnished and decorated. It is really cozy and I felt instantly at home. 

I can only recommed this sit wholeheartedly!

Stephanie

Introduction
When my partner and I embarked on our week-long house-sitting assignment in the picturesque French countryside, we were filled with a mix of excitement and curiosity. Stephanie had left us detailed instructions, along with a warm welcome and a home-cooked dinner. Little did we know that our stay would be a rollercoaster of delightful moments and unexpected challenges.

The Positives
1. Warm Hospitality
Stephanie’s hospitality was heartwarming. She greeted us with open arms, sharing stories of her life in the French countryside. The cozy dinner she prepared on our arrival was a thoughtful touch, making us feel instantly at ease.

2. Feline Companions
Ah, the cats! Stephanie had four of them—each with its unique personality. They were a delightful bunch, always ready for cuddles and head scratches. Their purring provided a soothing soundtrack to our stay. Kenny, the older cat, had a penchant for mischief, but we forgave him for his endearing quirks.

The Challenges
1. Isolation and Connectivity Woes
The idyllic rural setting came with a price—the nearest neighbors were three houses away, and civilization felt miles apart. Our digital nomad hearts sank when we realized that the internet was slower than a snail on vacation. As an IT professionals, we needed a stable connection for work, but the constant dropouts made it nearly impossible. Streaming Netflix? More like buffering Netflix.

2. Heating Drama
The house relied on an oil boiler for warmth. Twice a day, it hummed to life, providing a cozy respite. But the rest of the time? Well, that’s when we became amateur lumberjacks. The fireplace became our best friend, but it heated only one room. And here’s the kicker: when Stephanie left, the boiler decided to take a vacation too. Resetting it meant braving the elements and venturing to the barn. Windy days turned into boiler-resetting adventures.

3. Power Outage Surprise
Stephanie had given us a heads-up: on windy days, electricity might decide to play hide-and-seek. It was a rare occurrence, but we took her warning seriously. She left us with candles and portable lamps, hoping for the best.
One windy morning, we woke up to a darkened house—the electricity had vanished. No internet, no boiler, and definitely no light. Our options? Huddle by the fireplace for warmth or brew tea on the trusty gas stove. We chose both, hoping the power would return soon. Four hours later, it did—a celestial nod, perhaps. 

4. The Litterbox Dilemma
In February there is still going on a hunting season. Stephanie asked us to keep cats indoors, which meant managing six to seven litterboxes. Scooping duty became our daily ritual. Kenny, the notorious urinator, also tested our patience. Keeping him confined to the kitchen helped, but he still managed to sneak out and christen our shopping bag. Thanks, Kenny.

Conclusion
Stephanie’s kindness and thoughtful gestures were undeniable. She even surprised us with presents upon her return. But as we packed our bags, we reflected on the highs and lows of our house-sitting adventure. Would we do it again? Perhaps—with a backup Wi-Fi hotspot and a Kenny-proof shopping bag. Stephanie, if you’re reading this, consider it friendly feedback from two weary but grateful cat wranglers.

And so, our French escapade ended—a tale of warmth, cats, and the occasional power outage. Stephanie’s house would forever hold a special place in our memories, alongside the faint scent of wood smoke and the distant hum of the oil boiler. 🏡🐾

Emma

This sit was my first sit in the UK, and it was a wonderful first experience. Emma is kind, welcoming, and was really easy to communicate with. Her home, and in particular my room, was comfortable, clean, and cozy. Mao Mao is the sweetest, cuddliest dog I've had the pleasure of taking care of, and Alfie is a sweet, curious, adventurous dog who I enjoyed getting to know. I would definitely recommend Emma as a host!

Christian

It was an absolute pleasure to look after Rhino and Theakston. They’re both gorgeus, loving dogs. They enjoy playing and going on walks, and we really warmed to them. Christian and Letty’s house is wonderful, and they gave us a very warm welcome. We hope to be back!

Karen

I had a wonderful time going on walks with Kikki,  Jessie and Max and having Kikki snuggle up whilst I watched TV. They are all rescue dogs and very loving,  even Jessie who barked at me when I first arrived! And a lovely home to stay in for 6 days. Karen and John are lovely people, who showed me around and left great instructions. I was able to keep contact every  day and they even got neighbours to help out over the weekend  so I could go see  London properly. There was even a car for my use, but I prefer walking and buses  into busy areas such as London. All in all a very successful  week!
