Catherine seems to be a dog whisperer. When she arrived my dog took to her immediately, which is very unusual for him. She took great care of him as well as my home. Everything was clean and orderly when I returned. And sent pics each day of their outings to the dog park and walks. I would definitely recommend her to take care of your fur babies.
We heartily recommend Ali and Jacob as house sitters and caregivers for your beloved pets! They are an honest, reliable, and very independent couple who go above and beyond before, during and after our sit. They were very amenable to working with our time frame for arrival/departure and very kindly provided transportation to/from the airport for us. Jacob sharpened all our knives and helped us diagnose our failing vacuum while we were away. They also generously replaced a set of bath towels after their departure when one of the towels inexplicably went missing. We are planning on staying in touch with them and hope that our paths will cross again when travel becomes less restrictive.
Susan and Miranda were truly amazing sitters! We have two dogs, one of who needs daily medication and is pretty anxious, and they did an exceptional job taking care of them for our trip. Beyond the basics, they were both great communicators throughout the stay and shared lovely photo/video updates, as well as taking perfect care of our house. You would be lucky to have them for a sit, and I definitely hope they're available the next time we're away!
We have known Terry & Kate for many years and they are awesome! They have a lovely small holding/holiday business near Helston, which they have been working hard on for several years. We had a great time looking after their 5 goats, chickens, ducks and Verity the barn cat. We were able to visit prior to the sit starting, to get an idea of what was involved which was very helpful and Terry & Kate did a thorough handover before setting off. They are both very hospitable and we had a tasty meal the night before they left for a month in NZ. We did need to call the vet for Bertie (one of the goats)but it was quickly sorted & Kate & Terry were very good at staying in touch despite the time difference. This is definitely a sit for two people or someone who has strength to lift bales of hay, push wheelbarrows, clean out the goat shed daily and the chickens once a week. Daily chores took around an hour in the morning and around 30mins in the evening. Terry & Kate have a good routine to follow and after a couple of days, we were soon into the swing of things. After the animals are fed and the goat shed cleaned out you will have plenty of time to visit all the great spots around the Lizard area of Cornwall and beyond. All the animals are great characters and very friendly. We particularly enjoyed getting to know each of the goats and giving them their veggie treats at the end of the day. Verity the barn cat, is very affectionate and liked the occasional snooze on our lap but is also around to keep the rodent population under control, which she does very effectively! You may find the odd 'remnants' left in one of the out houses which might need clearing up. There were some people staying in the holiday accommodation when we sat but they are quite separate and other than answering the occasional query and having a friendly chat, it was all very straightforward. If you want an authentic farm/small holding experience and a fabulous holiday in Cornwall then this is the sit for you! 🙂
