A throughly enjoyable sit in a wonderful setting! Great communication with Ann prior to the sit. She was the perfect host, cooked a lovely dinner the night I arrived. She left clear instructions on how to care for the dogs and chickens. The location was stunning and Ann's home was right beside the beach. The coastal views were amazing, especially on the hill near the house. Watching the otters feed in the bay was unexpected and an incredible sight! My room was spacious and cosy as was the rest of her home. The dogs were a pleasure to look after, we walked 2 or 3 times a day around the quiet roads and farmland adjacent to the house. They were very well behaved and great company. I would love to go back to sit again should the opportunity arise.
Swyllmers is a beautiful home and Chris and Pippa are truly lovely people who communicated very well in the lead up to the sit. They provided great directions and a thorough handover to the home and the animals. They are very welcoming. We sat for Teddy the adorable chocolate lab and Lola (not the showgirl) the very uber cool and funky cat with attitude. Both animals are very well adjusted, friendly and loving. Walking Teddy was an absolute dream and he was always open for cuddles and playing about as well as resting. Teddy loved lots of resting! We had a truly wonderful time sitting for Chris and Pippa. Their home is beautiful and in an AONB with plenty to see and do close by. We had a wonderful meal in the Old Swan very close by. I would highly recommend Chris and Pippa's place as a sit (although not too much, because we would do it all again in a heartbeat!)
everything was so great! the pets were lovely to say the least, Percy is the kindest dog and hamish a really cuddly cat. the house is beautiful and close to breathtaking landscapes. the communication with nicky was easy and super friendly. couldn't wish for a better sit.

There are some experiences in your life that have a lasting impact, and for us one of these is house sitting at the dome. We expected an adventure when we travelled to Portugal to look after Mikel’s and Evan’s home and we got one. Living off-grid for 3 months has its challenges but with owners such as these your back is covered – any problem you encounter will be met decisively, efficiently and fast; no worries, mate! They never let us down! With high summer upon us dome-life was often hot, but everything is there to make it enjoyable, be it a portable airco, a fan, a pool, a shaded terrace, heath-shielding curtains and, most important, a cool cat. Lidl was as adorable as cats come, and he didn’t care how hot is was – he went straight for your lap. The view from the dome is beautiful and never got boring – each time we looked we were amazed. There are a surprising amount of expats living here, and they were very friendly and welcoming. Most of the time it was too hot for long walks which is a pity; the few times we did went hiking we came to understand the pull Mikel & Evan must have felt when choosing their home location. We will miss Lidl’s escapades on the stairs, the silence, the beautiful views, the heat of summer, the quiet starlit evenings on the terrace. We gained lots of memories to cherish. And should the opportunity arise to revisit this piece of heaven we wouldn’t hesitate. And neither should you! Mikel, Evan and Lidl, thanks for everything. We enjoyed ourselves immensely.
