Our corgis have been enjoying their time at Woof's, either day-play or boarding for over a decade. Spade, our first corgi was one of the first boarders at Woofs, when it opened. They treat the dogs as if they were their own pets/family. Even when Spade was in a wheelchair due to DM, they accommodated and welcomed him. I continue to recommend Woof's to all my friends. It is a great community resource.
Our dog always comes home thoroughly exhausted and loving life. The staff is very kind and caring. They do a great job of keeping an eye on all the dogs & love on each of them. We were hesitant our dog would come home smelly or pick up bad habits but so far, no troubles at all!
We used to love this place but after boarding our doodle Cosmo here, we won’t be back. He was in their care for 5 days, and he came home with scabs all around his neck and elbow, a hot spot sore on the top of his hand, mats on his ears, and diarrhea to top it all off. We are having to apply antibacterial creams to help heal his sores and clean up diarrhea from fits he’s had around the house. Cosmo is completely not like himself since he has been home. He got an exit bath from the groomer and when I picked him up, no one mentioned to me that he had sores on his body. Also, he was not willing to let them use the dryer so they let him air dry…. He was still damp when I picked him up and smelled musty. I talked to the GM and she did call me back explaining they don’t brush the dogs for the exit baths and that the groomer did notice the “beginnings of a hot spot” but “forgot to mention it”. A free bath was offered to me and if I want to have him brushed it would cost extra. While I do appreciate the call back from the GM, she tried to normalize the condition I received my dog back in. The explanation for the hot spot on his hand and the mats was that they let the dogs play in water and they don’t get dried off afterward. Any person who works with dogs knows that is not healthy for a long haired dog’s coat. There are often 20-30 dogs in each area to 1 staff member. Although I do not doubt Woof’s employees love dogs and have only good intentions towards Cosmo, it seems like maybe there are too many dogs for each one to be properly taken care of. Sadly, Woofs isn’t a right fit for my pup anymore and if you have a long haired dog you may want to reconsider boarding here as you may come back from vacation to a stressed out/sick dog.
I only come here for grooming, and all of the groomers are very talented and patient. Shelly, my groomer has become a close friend over the years! Excellent service and the staff here is top notch. My 3 dogs are anxious but they feel happy and safe here. I drive 30 minutes just to come for Shelly to pamper my pups ❤️ She’s also always been so patient with my sisters Pyrenees mix who has a fear of grooming. You can tell how happy she is after Shelly took care of her!
It has been years since I took my dog to Woof's for a 4 hr trial. I decided not to use their services because of what I saw on camera for those 4 hours. I thought maybe I was just over reacting and reading into things too much but after recently speaking with 2 other dog owners who had similar experiences I felt the need to post this... I have a small breed pup named Piper, weighing about 10 lbs. When I dropped her off the boarding portion of the facility smelled like urine. I thought that maybe they were just changing cleaning shifts but now have realized that it takes time for that sort of smell to manifest. She was brought into the play area and I was told I could watch on camera if I wanted. I watched almost the entire time (and felt a bit crazy doing so). Piper found a space to sit next to the "chaperone" where she perched and watched the other dogs. I was concerned about the sizes of dogs she was mixed with as their energy levels were higher than hers but she seemed to just mind her business and stay out of their way. Towards the end of the 4 hours a new chaperone entered the room, cornered her and forced her to be picked up. It was so clear that Piper didn't want to be picked up and it's kind of a cardinal rule that any animal lover would know about small breed dogs... Or any dog really. Don't pick them up unless they want to be. I had a very bad gut feeling after witnessing this and decided Woof's was not a safe space for my dog. I'm not sure of the hiring process but it appeared that the process did not catch psychopath personalities... And cherry on top ... My dog smelled like urine when I picked her up... Even though I saw the workers spraying down pee and poo spots, it was not enough... Maybe the drainage system below the turf was not installed properly, I'm not sure.
My 2 dogs love their home away from home at Wollfs. Most recently I was very thankful that Kaleb was so kind to help me arrange a late pick up when my flight delayed my pick up time. He was helpful and went the extra mile for my family.
My dog Rosie has been going to Woof's in Merriam since she was 9 months old. She is so excited when she goes and she loves her time there. I've also boarded her there many ties and I always feel so secure and know I don't have to worry about her while I'm out of town because she will be be well taken care of. It's a great place!
My dog Riggs is socially awkward. He's a dogs dog and fits right in at Woof's. I love that they understand and still love him anyway. The cameras are so fun to watch. I can see he's loving his friends there running the yard, playing in the sun. He's getting better every time I pick him up. I'm so thankful for them and what they do. I highly recommend them and I do to all my friends!
I can always depend on the crew at Woof's to take great care of Jessie. As much as I hate to be away from her, I totally trust she will be well taken care of and spoiled.
We cannot say enough good things about Woofs Play & Stay in Merriam—they take the best care of our corgi and she LOVES going to see all her friends every week. Whether it’s Day Play or a Night Stay, we feel comfortable and confident that Gurgi will have a wonderful experience and be loved and cared for during her time at Woofs. Thank you Woofs Merriam!!!
We found Nancie three years ago when our pup was too young to go to dog boarding (she hadn’t been spayed yet) but we needed somewhere for her to go due to a family emergency. We honestly haven’t looked back since! Our Honey Bunny loves Nancie! She gets to play with other gentle dogs and we know she’ll get 1:1 attention while we are away. She also gets the comfort of a home and a backyard. Highly recommend Four Paws! Pics Nancie has sent of our girl, happy and snuggly! ☺️
My Charlie girl always has a good time when she stays at Four Paws. I love the in home atmosphere. Charlie is free in the house all the time. Nancie has a big fenced yard for the dogs to enjoy. I'm very glad I found Four Paws!
Nancie has been petsitting for my dogs for years and she is always excellent with them! I know I can always trust Four Paws to make sure my pups have fun and are well-looked after, especially if they need medication or special attention, and I never have to worry while I’m away.
Nancie is so good to our dog Leo. And I love the fact he doesn't have to stay in a kennel. I highly recommend letting you dog stay with her
Nancie is so so kind! My pug, Hugo, has a great time every time I have to leave town and he stays with Nancie. She's a home away from home. I've been blessed enough to have family watch him usually but moved to Kansas City and needed somewhere I knew he would be safe and loved. Nancie provides that and more. Highly recommend!
Nancie is the best! We like the in-home setting she provides and the love and attention she shows our dog, Charlie, whenever he stays. Nancie is always excited to watch Charlie and makes us feel at ease knowing he is receiving the best care. We highly recommend making your pup a part of Nancie's family!
Nancie recently watched our large lab on short notice after some of the larger kennels said they had no more room for a large dog. She did a wonderful job of taking care of our boy and sent us daily updates and photos of him. We will only be using Nancie to watch our dog from now on! Highly recommend!
We love Four Paws Pet sitters! Every time we take our dog here we know he is well taken care of. Nancie's love for animals is so evident. Our dog was always super nervous to go to kennel boarding places, but at Nancie's house he feels right at home and is always excited to see her! They get to stay in a home environment and get treated very well. We have always had great experiences and highly recommend!
I can not say enough great things about Nancie. She communicates very well leading up to the drop off date and even sent pictures of our two dogs while they were with her for several days. Not to mention we booked the week of Christmas on very short notice, but she was more than accommodating. We got the boys back today and could tell they were so happy to be there. Not anxious like they usually are when picking them up from a boarding kennel. They also smell really good and she sent them home with bags of treats :) Nancie is the best! We’ll be using her again in the future.
Nancie makes us feel like family. She goes above and beyond with the fur babies and makes them feel at home. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to animal behavior and makes me feel comfortable/ safe with my dogs and love that they get to socialize safely instead of being stuck in kennels. She has my trust -I highly recommend!
Toby loves coming to On The Ball for daycare. He’s been a regular since he was a puppy, so he’s made many friends! We feel lucky to have a quality doggie daycare in our neighborhood…especially love to see Mary, Brianne and all the guys who love on Toby each time we drop him off!
My furry ones Baxter and Cyrus love going to On The Ball when I go on vacation. I always know that they are safe and having so much fun playing with their furry friends. I love being able to check in with them on the webcams from time to time to see them playing.
We love love OTB! We've been bringing our dog (Toni) here for a little over 2 years since she was a young pup. We had a pretty bad experience at another local shop and so thankful we found On the Ball. The staff is great and so attentive! Toni is a frequent at doggie daycare, she loves it so much. They also have fun add-ons during daycare - sometimes even a cute photoshoot! We fully recommended anyone needing boarding, grooming, or daycare to OTB.
I have been on the search for a good groomer for my sheepadoodle puppy and after 4 attempts at different locations I think we finally found the place!!! Alana was our groomer and she did such a wonderful job and they were very timely which is nice when you have a “nervous nelly” puppy. We are so excited to have found a place we can rely on.
On the ball is a great place to take your dog for grooming. Russell comes home looking and smelling fresh. They accommodate our specific requests on his haircut as well. We will always chose on the ball for our grooming needs
We love On the Ball and so does Munson! It’s so nice having somewhere to go where they know my dog and take great care of him. I love when they have special days like lick mat, dance party or 1 on 1 time. I love that I can watch him on the cameras and they are always so nice and understanding when I call to check on him 😬 which is probably very annoying but hey, we love our pups! Thank you all!
We have been taking our dog Rick to On the Ball since August of 2019 and we cannot say enough good things about this doggy daycare and boarding! Meagan and her team go above and beyond to make sure Rick is loved, cared for and dog-tired by the time we pick him up. Rick has learned the word 'daycare' and gets very excited when asked if he wants to go. He really enjoys spending time with his dog friends and human friends at On the Ball each week. One of my top favorite features is the live webcams - it allows me to check in on him at any time. We have also boarded him with On the Ball on several occasions and they do their absolute best to make sure he eats (he doesn't like to while we are away) and gets all the love, attention, and treats while he stays with them! We highly recommend On the Ball for all doggy daycare or boarding needs!
LOVE OTB! I'm about as picky as you can be when choosing a location to have my dogs boarded. I love that they require updated vaccines from all boarded pets. The staff is so good with animals that need a little special attention. My dog has a very sensitive stomach and they prepare his food just like I do. It's clean and there's lots of room for play. I also love that there are video cameras that you can watch to see how your dog is doing. I'm really happy with this place and more importantly so is my dog!
Our mini golden doodle, Cheerio, loves going to On the Ball in Prairie Village. He gets super excited when we pull up to the shop. We’ve boarded him, taken him for play days, and had him groomed. We have been extremely pleased with all of the services. The groomer is especially good with hairy golden doodle ears! My kids love to check in on Cheerio via the web cameras. We watch him having a blast with the other dogs & getting lots of love from Meagan & her staff. We’re happy to be supporting a great local business!
The staff at On The Ball is fantastic. They work around the clock to ensure the safety and happiness of your pup. I was always so so grateful for their constant support for my pup. They knew him by name and loved him so much. I highly recommend them for your boarding & daycare needs!
We had been boarding Mochi at this location for the past 5 years. The staff was always easy to work with and communicating either through phone or text was a breeze. There are currently a total of 3 play areas for slow, medium and high energy pups. Great for pups whether they love to socialize or sleep all day. There are also cameras set up for you to remotely view the play areas while your pet is staying there. Drop off and pickup could not be easier and their available overnight pickup/dropoff is a huge plus. This week we said goodbye to Mochi at 14.5 years old. He was always excited to come visit with his friends and I could not recommend this location enough. Thanks Collar Club for everything!
We adore Collar Club! My pups tend to be anxious and the staff all work hard to making them feel comfy. Ashleigh in grooming has been exceptionally patient with them. Jessica is truly a queen with training and handling them in general. I always feel very safe leaving my pups there because I know they’re getting incredible care
Been there since the onset of COVID. The front desk staff is excellent. Our dogs never stop moving after two 2 Mike walks a day. This is our dogs after after today’s Play Day.
The Collar Club Waldo is the best in KCMO - it’s safe, scrupulously clean & really good value for money. The team there however, set us apart from the rest - they’re knowledgeable, they care deeply about the dogs & they’re stable (which speaks volumes about Collar Club culture). We feel blessed to be a part of the pack!
My dog Munich stayed at the Waldo location recently. The employees there were excellent and gave prompt and professional notifications about my dog. The live video of the dogs too were a great experience. I would definitely recommend Collar Club to anyone.
I love Collar Club. We have our dogs groomed there and they always look like a million bucks afterwards. Our dogs have some behavior issues we’ve worked on since adopting them but they still struggle with some things and the staff does a great job managing them, which I really appreciate. The staff is courteous, communicative and everybody there truly adores dogs. Wonderful place.
My dog, Lou, has gone here for years and I have always been thoroughly impressed by the facility and staff. I love when they smile and say his name when we walk in the front door. All dog tenders are extremely attentive and are very in tune with all dogs in the facility. Example below- My dog was in high energy for his first few years as he was extremely playful- Recently, when I would watch him on camera, I had noticed he was sitting in the corner and looked overwhelmed. Without me mentioning this to Collar Club, they informed me they were moving him to the medium energy room-- they too had noticed a change in his behavior and felt he would be more comfortable in medium energy. After a few times in the medium room, I noticed he was playing again and no longer just sitting in the corner. Collar Club once again updated me saying they were really happy with his progress and he was getting back to his normal self. WOW! I am amazed and grateful how in tune they are and that they take time to read individual dogs. They truly care. Thank you, Collar Club!!! -Lou's Mom
We LOVE collar club! I have a very reactive pup who was rescued from a bad breeding situation. She doesn’t like strangers or new places. Multiple groomers haven’t been able to work with her. The wonderful folks at collar club are so patient and gentle with her. She comes back happy and clean every time!
Winston, our corgi, had a great 5 day visit at Collar Club in Kansas City. His visit was good for him to socialize with other dogs, something he needs as a very active and social dog. He came home happy and calm. Thanks Collar Club!
I love this place for grooming, day care, and boarding. My dog is very anxious and fearful of basically every experience but they always take care of her. They do a great job with handling and giving her alone time to decompress when she needs it, too.
Tiffany has been wonderful to work, accommodating and quick to respond. And Daniel gives our big gal Emma lots of love and attention. We highly recommend them for anyone needing pet services and will continue to use them for many more years.
Took great care of our large dog. He loved his time with Tiffany and playing with Tiffany’s dogs. She sent lots of pics! Tiffany is great to work with, accommodative and very communicative.
I’ve been using Tiffany for about a year. I love how she sends me updates and pictures of my dog. She is very reliable last minute. I highly recommend using her ❤️
We have been using Tiffany to watch our little Yorkie for over years when we travel. Tiffany is wonderful and I can tell when return home that our fur baby has been well-loved!
Managing four woofing, shedding, chewing, wrestling German Shepards is no easy feat but TIffany handled wonderfully! We came home to happy healthy pups who barely noticed we were gone.
Tiffany was great with my dog, and made sure the process was as easy and smooth as possible!
I have been sending my goldendoodle to Tiffany for almost a year now. She has been great!
I highly recommend Tiffany’s Dog Sitting! Tiffany is amazing with all dogs and is very thoughtful and caring!
Professional, reliable, and responsive. Dogs were happy and house was as we left it. Can't really ask for anything else
My dog Wagner and I love Dog Pawz! They love the dogs as if they are their own. Their groomer, Vickie, does a wonderful job and the vet staff are amazing and have done a great job of handling my dog's health issues. I highly recommend all of the services Dog Pawz offers!
We love it! We go twice a week for daycare and she has boarded with dogpawz. We have had a great experience with staff and she is excited to go every time.
The people at Dog Pawz have been lovely to work with! I’ve gotten my dogs groomed here and they did a great job taking care of them! We did a tour in preparation for boarding our dogs and they were so accommodating, and worked to ease our concerns about leaving our pups for a few days. Very grateful for my experiences so far!
I’ve been meaning to post about my experience with this place a while back. The communication here was terrible, it sucks when you’re away and calling during working hours to do a quick check up on your dog and nobody answers. I prepacked my pups meals for his days there. The staff either did not even feed him nor change his water because his food was 90% untouched, along with his treats. The bag I put his food and belongings in, only the 1 thing of food was taken out at the very top. They didn’t even bother to get anything else out for him, not even his sleeping buddy toy. Which I stated was mandatory to help with his anxiety since I’ll be away. The last straw was: upon picking my dog up, I walked him to the grassy area in front of their building and my dog took the longest pee break known to man. I had never seen him take that long, ever! It was around noon when I picked him up, meaning he hadn’t been outside to relieve himself for I don’t know how long. I will not be back!
My dogs love going to daycare here. The staff is friendly and attentive and I love checking up on the pups on the dog-webcams.
They were very nice with my pitbull and made her feel at home. She came out very happy from her visit. Plus affordable also, highly recommend.
We had a great first experience! From the moment I dropped our puppy off they were so kind and accommodating. I especially love how she got to play at day care while waiting for the groomer. They communicate so well with their customers and I would highly recommend to anyone!
I dropped my dog off for 9 days as a first time boarder. He is 10yrs old and has never been boarded in his life, needless to say I was very worried. My dog has separation anxiety, especially when he is dropped off places and he is a very sensitive pup. He needs lots of patience and understanding. I called every day for the first 2-3 days to check in, they were very nice, helpful and I didn’t feel judged for my calling so much, they actually encouraged it. The girls at the front were so welcoming and just honestly a joy. So up beat. I also felt like when I dropped him off she listened to all my needs and worries and write down exactly what I wanted so they could take care of him the best way for the dog. They wanted to keep everything the same that they could. I boarded in the standard boarding package for 9 days, he was to have outdoor time for potty and daycare. He also had medicine that he needed to take. There was a bath that was complimentary but my dog is reactive to baths so I requested he not have one in which they did honor. One thing I was worried about is what happens if there is a dog fight. Dogs fight just like people fight and they can just plain out not get along with a certain dog just like us. They said they watch the first timers much more closely and if anything happens they assess if it is one dog they aren’t liking or maybe the dog isn’t fit for daycare. They try to put your dog in a daycare with different dogs and if the dog still doesn’t do well they don’t do daycare but individual time out with the dog and outdoor time instead. I was able to view my dog via the camera in all rooms but the outdoor area. They were awesome enough to put him in a kennel that was camera view as there are kennels that are not in camera view for standard boarding. (Also note that the next package up dogs are not viewable on camera, the kennels aren’t set up for front view, I looked at all the rooms.) I was able to see my dog leaving his kennel and I also caught him getting his morning meds as I requested. I was never able to catch him in the daycare area, it’s possible I wasn’t looking at the right time, next time I will call and see when he is scheduled to go in so I can watch him. I also watched the employees handling some the dogs on the camera with such care and needless to say my pup can be a bit frustrating, he likes to run through legs, especially if you’re putting him in a kennel. I watched as a caretaker was trying to put him away and he kept running out, they never got frustrated with him and forced him into the cage aggressively, they just patiently kept setting him in there until they could get the door closed without smashing him with the door lol. When I picked up my dog he was calm, not stressed, he wasn’t cowering or acting like he had a terrible time or like he was petrified from his experience. He was very content and happy. That impressed me and I was honestly surprised with how bad his separation anxiety can be. They gave me a run down of his visit, how he did from start to end and let me know he was involved in zero altercations. I would absolutely board here again, without any question. I would also highly recommend this place to everyone. They truly do care for the dogs and they want them to be comfortable. They also understand that this is scary for them so they try very hard to nurture them through the process instead of herding them like cattle and get frustrated with them when they are scared or don’t want to do something. Thank you Dog Pawz!!! :)
We have been bringing our Pug, Mabel since she was a puppy to Dog Pawz. The Staff is so nice and always greets you with a smile ! It is a clean, and wonderful place for your pup! We love Dog Pawz and so does Mabel❤️
I absolutely recommend this place the staff was very friendly and treated my puppy with love and care. I talked to one of the groomers for a while she explained how long I should expect him to be there. She also gave me information on the day care services as well. He looks so handsome when I picked him up. I’m very satisfied
This place is fantastic! Our girl, Freya, was staying here while waiting ever so patiently to be adopted. Christy answered our questions about Freya and genuinely seems to love what she does. She even saved us when we needed a last minute daycare for the kids and we picked them up completely tuckered out. We will definitely use them for doggie daycare and boarding needs. Anyone that's able to run a facility with a multitude of barkers and still greet us with a smile is a saint.
We’ve had the pleasure of using Melissa’s Menagerie services for day care and now as our wedding attendant most recently. We have used daycare at least once if not three times a week for about a year. I started looking into who I wanted to take care of our dog, Kevin, about 8 months before our wedding. I knew Melissa’s did outside work besides daycare. I just wasn’t familiar with their services. When I first began approaching them, Heidi and Melissa made me feel so comfortable that I knew I wouldn’t go wrong. There were some complications with my venue that day. Heidi, bless her heart, made sure that I was well taken care of as the bride. She ensured me that she would stay no matter what to get all the pictures I wanted with Kevin. She took pictures along the way (even though I didn’t have my phone with me that night). She has a such a sweet personality that makes you feel calm and that everything will be okay.
My puppy LOVES coming here. I can't even drive to the dollar store next door to them without her losing her mind from excitement thinking she's going to daycare. The staff works very hard to monitor their playgroups at all times, and puts forth immense effort to rotate the pups that can't be with other pups to make sure they also get quality time out. I've worked with dogs just about my whole adult life (including many boarding facilities), and I'd say this is the only facility I would ever feel comfortable boarding my dogs at.
I’m so sad for those of you who entrust this place with your dogs. They are left alone from 5pm till morning sometimes. Most are sitting in their filth in the morning. many are left in their kennels for too long without potty breaks. Also no on site night staff. The employees are poorly treated. Ask for an inside tour. They seem to play favorites as well. They are always short staffed due to the poor conditions, meaning less adequate care for the animals. There are better places.
I adopted my little fur monster from Melissa's Menagerie Second Chances in March 2020. I live in an apartment, and it didn't take long to realize that he's got infinite energy in a small package. He loves to run and jump and play. Luckily, since I had adopted Archie (my pupperino) from MM Second Changes, they already knew and loved him. They treat him, and me, like family. Each staff member that I interact with seems genuinely excited to see my little man as he runs to them every morning. Archie is the best thing to happen to my life in a long time, and there's no way I could keep him happy and healthy without Melissa's Menagerie.
Very tough situation with a deceased friend and finding relocation for Rocky. This is a Godsend of help towards this beautiful canine. Thank you to all who make this organization of a super great team. I can't thank you enough for helping Sharon and my heart.
So I am typically not one to leave negative reviews on places, however this situation I do feel warrants it. So like other people have said, I have been bringing my dog to this place for years before the owners changed. I’ve never had a negative experience before now. So I did make a mistake and misread their hours of operation. I thought they closed at 1pm, when they actually close at 12 PM, which was my mistake. However, the way the situation was handled really rubbed me the wrong way. I and another patron arrived roughly 25 to 27 minutes after closing as the owner was walking out the door. I approached the door let her know I was here to pick up my dog, and she very rudely informed me that they had been closed for roughly 25 minutes. I understand that they are closed. It was my fault that I misread the hours. However, the way the owner spoke to me, was not okay. She began yelling at they were closed and had been closed, and when I responded that I misread the hours, I thought they closed at one she rudely responded “It has been that way for a while now”. With rudeness and condescension seeping from her voice. I can understand her frustration, however, I and other patron continued to be yelled at by her saying she has to be somewhere, and she can’t deal with this right now. Like I said, I realize this was my mistake, but there is no reason that she could not have politely said I am closed. You will have to come back tomorrow. There was hostility and rudeness in her voice and she yelled at the other patron in front of her young child as well. I will NOT be giving her my business again.
In the 41 years of living on this earth, I don’t think I have ever been spoken to and treated with such attitude and rudeness from a human being. The new owner came completely unhinged on me, as I showed up to leave my dog in her care before directly heading to the airport to catch a flight. I was informed upon arrival that she needed current paperwork on my dog’s shots and immunizations to board him. I told her that I would have gladly provided this paperwork had that been communicated to me prior to arriving. She stated that it is common procedure that ANYWHERE you board your pets, you need to bring their paperwork EVERY SINGLE TIME they are boarded. I had stated that I had been bringing my dog to Melissa’s Menagerie from when the first owner started 7 years ago and that was never the case and if she expected things to run differently, then she needed to communicate her rules and expectations clearly to her customers. The previous owner, communicated prior when current paperwork was needed and it was brought and all was fine. I had also brought my dog a month prior to board him and her rules were not communicated to me at that time, nor when I picked him up after he stayed there for 6 days. It was not indicated when I booked his appointment online. There was no communication after my appointment was confirmed that I needed current paperwork. There is nowhere on her website that states this expectation. She huffed, laughed, and belittled me for not understanding that this is commonplace in this industry. She begrudgingly called my vet and said she was making the phone call that I should have made. I once again told her I would have gladly made that phone call and gotten all the appropriate information and paperwork if there had been communication that I needed to bring them. The time to spring this on someone is not the day they are headed out of town and catching a flight. This is when she completely became unhinged and said how she just loves how people tell her how to run her business and people know nothing about running this tough business. I told her the rumors that I had heard are apparently true; that this establishment has gone downhill ever since the ownership changed hands. She laughed and belittled the previous owner and stated how her place is better and cleaner than it ever has been, and she is the best thing that ever happened to this place. I thanked her for being such a kind and delightful person and for making me miss my flight and weekend plans. I walked out with my dog and got in my car, shaking, and had to quickly problem-solve if I could find a friend to watch my dog on a dime’s notice and if I could make my flight. While in crisis mode, she called me twice and left a vm sternly telling me to bring my dog back, that she talked to my vet, and they got all the appropriate paperwork sent over. I will NEVER EVER bring my dog back through those doors again and I will share my experience to anyone who has pets and is in the community to stay clear of this angry, belittling woman and the so-called business that she runs. Shortly after I left, she posted on FB a “friendly reminder” about making sure to bring appropriate paperwork EVERY YEAR after your pet’s annual vet visit and they will help to remind their customers to bring the appropriate paperwork prior to boarding. Funny timing. Nothing about this woman is friendly and her messaging doesn’t sync up with what she had just told me were her rules. My parents were business owners and as this woman was belittling and yelling at me, the paper that was tacked up in the back of their business came into focus. These quotes were on there. “Exceed your customers’ expectations. Give them what they want — and a little more. Make good on all your mistakes, and don't make excuses — apologize. Stand behind everything you do.” “There is only one boss: the customer. And he can fire everybody in the company from the chairman on down, simply by spending his money somewhere else.” – both Sam Walton quotes. She will gaslight you and have false rebuttals. Just watch.
Melissa's is awesome - our dog loves it so much, she knows when she's headed "to play!" Pup always comes home worn out from her time playing with the other pups, which is a welcome relief for owners of puppies. Melissa and her team do a great job of separating the dogs by energy level and keeping all dogs safe during playtime. We regularly do daycare and have also done boarding. If you follow Melissa's Menagerie on Facebook, you'll get several daily photo updates of what dogs are there and how much fun they're having.
I was always hesitant on taking trips because it would mean that someone had to watch Oakley for me. I found Melissa’s Menagerie’s Pet Daycare and Boarding services by my sister-in-law, who also brings in her dog when she goes on a trip. I’ve never felt so comfortable leaving Oakley in someone else’s hands while we are gone for a few days. The staff here was very welcoming. I was walking Oakley up to their front door & we were greeted by a very friendly young lady who held the door open for us. She was very kind! Since this was Oakley’s first time staying, I just had to fill out some paperwork, which included everything they needed to know about my buddy. I just handed my dog’s food, leash, & proof of vaccinations to the staff. The process was very easy and fast! They also post pictures everyday on Facebook and it warms my heart to see all the dogs playing together. When I got back from my trip, I picked up Oakley as soon as they opened at 7AM, which was perfect timing. Again, the staff was very friendly and I was even told they bathed him. To tell you the truth, I don’t think Oakley was ready to come home. I think he had a great time there. He is a labradoodle, so he is filled with energy & loves to be around other pets! I know I did the correct thing by trusting Melissa’s Menagerie & her staff. As soon as we got home, Oakley slept longer than usual. I will continue to trust Melissa’s Menagerie! Thank YOU! ❤️ Attached is a photo they posted about Oakley on their Facebook page & I could just tell he was having a good time!
