Alejandro and Teresa have been a sweetheart to us, unfortunately we have not been able to meet Teresa in person, but we have been in contact with her every day with her sweet messages, and it has been as if we had met her, they have resolved all our doubts through during the stay. The house is cozy and beautiful. The location is quiet and enjoyable to disconnect from the city and let yourself be captivated by its charming dogs Nanuk and Kenai, but don't miss out on Mia, she's a sweet naughty. Don and Langui will accompany you in the afternoons and let you touch their soft woolly backs, the "cucus" chickens will leave gifts all over the porch and accompany you on your adventure around the house. It has been a great warm and pleasant experience, we really want to go back and see the whole furry family, we have left a little piece of heart there ✨✨✨
We had a wonderful two-week stay looking after Jess, Mia, Rosie and Poppy in Chris and Anne's beautiful home. Anne kindly showed us around the house and explained everything before she left. Communication before and during the sit was prompt and easy. We fell in love with all of the animals and were sad to say goodbye. The dogs are impeccably behaved, gentle, and friendly, each with unique and adorable personalities. We loved walking them through the surrounding countryside. The village itself is great. It has a small shop and a fab pub where Jess and Mia are very much loved. The house is truly special, and we felt very comfortable there. We had plenty of space to work, the bed was comfy (made it very challenging to get out of it in the morning! :D), and the shower was great. We enjoyed spending time in and watering the garden during our stay, and we got to enjoy all the lovely fresh veg that was growing. We really enjoyed every minute of this sit, and we would return in a heartbeat! Thanks so much Anne and Chris!
Thibault and Gabrielle were amazing! They have a lovely home and Bana is the sweetest dog you'll meet. They clearly explained everything and happily answered any questions I had. It was great to spend time with them after they returned, they are extremely kind and just all around wonderful people. I would take another sit for them in a heartbeat!
This sit was on my top of the list for one of our favorites. I was able to meet Mike ahead of time to go over home and pet details. We arrived to a beautiful and clean home with a gorgeous views of Bellingham bay and the Islands. But what made this sit exceptional were Luna and Gracie. They were adorable and soo much fun to watch with each having their own unique personalities. Bill loved to play fetch with Luna and her myriad of toys and he usually tired out before Luna. The interurban trail was nearby and the dog's loved to walk there. I would recommend this sit without hesitation. (Also the hot tub was divine.)
I had a very enjoyable stay at Belinda and Christian's lovely home, on the edge of woods, caring for Jack their cat. Jack is independent and comes and goes as he pleases, very much appreciating attention and his tummy rubbed when he appears. I met Belinda before the sit and was left with great instructions and sent video's of how to use the washing machine and dish washer, I took my own bedding and towels on this occasion. Great sit, thank you both.

We have used Riverside twice now, and each time we have been so impressed with how lovely it is and how welcome both dogs and their humans are made to feel. Our dog can be nervous at times and was uncomfortable at another kennel that we tried, however, she was very happy to return to Riverside, where she had been once 4 years before.

Just picked up our 2 boys after a nine day stay and they looked like they had a wonderful time. We have a GSD who has a bit of an attitude problem but no problem at Riverside, everyone seems to bring out the best in him. We can now go away and know they are safe and well looked after. I’ve just picked up 4 very happy and well looked after dogs who’ve enjoyed at long weekend at Riverside. The kennels and lawns are superb, clean and the attention to details seems to be reflected in everything Maria & Co do. Probably the friendliest kennels we’ve ever used.
Riverside Kennels is an amazing place to leave your much loved pooch Maria and Aiden are brilliant with caring for their charges. l have a large German Shepherd called Max not an easy dog but they have been brilliant with him especially over the past year - thank you Maria, Aiden, Lynn, Lucy and all the rest of the staff for giving him such wonderful care.
Very welcoming company. Lovely grounds for the dogs to be exercised. Had a great reception from drop-off to pick-up. Would happily use again and recommend to others.
Amazing. I can't praise Maria and Aidan and team enough. Our two year old Slovakian Mountain dogs had the time of their lives at Riverside. They came back to us happy and actually better behaved. Thank you so much for your professionalism, compassion and true love for animals. We went through a really tough time after a serious diving accident that almost took my partner's life. Maria and Aidan were our guardian angels when they offered to look after our two girls. We'll forever be grateful for your support and kindness. A happy dog is a smiling dog and ours were grinning ear to ear!
Can't thank the owners and staff enough for looking after our 2 Patterdale Terriers while we were away. We are really fussy about choosing where to board our dogs, we have tried quite a few places but this is the best by far and we will be using it again. Can fully recommend!! Thank you Riverside!!
This is a brilliant place to leave your much loved pooch! Our cocker spaniel puppy is a nervous boy to new sorroundings, but Riverside looks after each pooch to there individual needs. Barney had a immaculate kennel, kept nice and cosy. Brilliant grounds for walks, and when we picked him up he was wagging he's tail and clearly made a lovely bond with the owners and staff there. Highly recommended!
My dog is absolutely ecstatic when Nina arrives. He has been so happy and energised to be able to be exercised with his new crew of doggies, especially important when this is currently his only opportunity to be with other dogs. For me they are flexible, reliable and have made a huge difference to my life. They respond at short notice and work around me and my ever changing work pattern and changes week to week. Knowing that on the days I can not take Maverick out for a substantial romp, Nina will take care of this, is far more than a dog walk, for me it’s a guilt free day, worth every penny!

Lex visited our home to re-train my dog who had become aggressive towards other dogs. Within one session, Lex had found a solution. He helped me with training and within a day I had put his advice into practice and it worked! My dog was much calmer and easier to control. There's still some way to go as I need to work hard to reinforce the training but I now feel much more confident in handling difficult situations. So many thanks to Lex - I can highly recommend him.
We adopted Black, an older rescue dog, who had suffered many years of abuse and neglect. He has completed our family but we have all had to adapt and learn things that don't always come naturally. We tried a number of local (French) trainers but nothing seemed to be working... until What's Up Dog! They worked with us remotely via calls, videos and emails and although there's still a long way to go, we can definately see progress 🙂 Nina and Lex are kind, caring and passionate- going above and beyond to help dogs (and owners!) be the best they can be. I recently had a training session with Lex and my 5 month old puppy with the aim to give me some confidence and to check I was on the right path. Lex was so knowledgeable and my puppy responded so well during the session and loved his first time off the lead (something I wouldn’t have had the confidence to do without Lex). The session was so informative and really boosted my confidence, giving me the tools I need to keep the training going at home. I would 100% recommend.
Nina and Lex were fantastic with our little dog, he loved going to them and learnt so much. After our circumstances changed and he was unable to go to them for two weeks they suddenly out of the blue doubled what we agreed to pay and said we shouldn’t of had a dog we couldn’t afford! Then blocked us as we stood our ground. We had previously recommended them to friends who used their services and this is how we have been treated! We will not be recommending them in the future. Not a professional way to treat regular customers especially being a new business. We wish them well in the future.
WhatsUp dog have been walking our dog Blu for the past 3 months and moving Blue from our previous dog walkers was the best thing we have ever done. Our dog blue loves the walks with Nina and Lex and they have helped so much with the training of Blue. Blue is a completely different dog since being with WhatsUp dog. We can't thank them enough for everything they do for blue and us. Hightly recommend them! Best dog walkers we have ever had!
Gold star service through and through. Hollie my Bernese mountain dog absolutely loves her walks with Whatsup dogs. They really are lovely people who care about you and your dog, going above and beyond for you. Flexible, friendly, professional with a personal approach. I honestly couldn't ask for more. Seeing Hollie so excited when Nina arrives is pure joy. Hollie can be shy but they became besties after about 10 mins of their first meeting and the bond grows stronger every time.
Nina is fantastic with my pooch! It's the highlight of his week going out for walks! He's been to the beach! The park the woods!! He's out more than me! Top quality though, very happy with the service, would highly recommend!
Both Ghengis and Bob always come back from their walks with Nina knackered but incredibly happy. It's clear that she has an affinity with animals and I would 100% recommend to anyone that loves their dogs but just doesn't have the time to get out and about with them.
Our boy had an amazing time last week at Johnny Whiskers. Lou updated us everyday with videos and photos reassuring us that Copper was happy and settled. He really enjoyed his time there with Lou, her family and doggy friends! He had lots of walks, days out and lots of cuddles 🥰 We highly recommend Johnny Whiskers and would not hesitate sending our boy there again. Thank you so much Lou for taking good care of him ❤️
Lou is absolutely fantastic! She had our spaniel Ruby for the first time for 6 nights in October and its clear from the lovely videos and photos that Ruby had the best time. Lou spent extra time with Ruby trying to get her recall better! She is a magician as now Ruby doesnt need to be on a lead with Lou and recalls to her with ease. Ruby was a little off colour at one point during her stay, but Lou loved her as if she was her own and gave us constant updates. I am forever thankful! Knowing Ruby was in safe hands and having the best holiday was a weight off our minds. Lou truly cares about the dogs she looks after and has amazing facilities and grounds to allow them to have the best time. Ruby will become a regular visitor!
Our little Cavvie, Beau has just come back from his 2nd stay at JW and he loves it. Lou is great with him and he loves to play with his fellow doggy guests. Regular pics and videos have us in fits at his antics so we have no worries at all about him when he's in her care. She's also a really good groomer and Beau's returned bathed and trimmed, looking great and totally worn out ! Highly recommended 😁
I have a 14 year old dalmatian. She is very precious to me. I don’t like to leave her. I had to take my husband to a family funeral in London and really didn’t know what to do with Millie. She needs lots of care and special attention which a normal kennel setting wouldn’t be able to provide. She also needs to be protected around young and more boisterous dogs. I had almost given up when I heard about Lou. I could not believe that she was fully prepared to take Millie on, especially at such short notice. She took Millie into her home and gave her very special care, even getting up one night to check she was comfortable! She sent me lots of reassuring photos and videos so I didn’t have to worry at all. It really was a home from home. I still can’t believe my luck. Thank you so, so much Lou 🥰
Lou is a marvel and our dog Nell loves spending time with her and the extended Whiskers family. Lou knows just the right way to spread her love, kindness and care, equally among all the dogs she looks after, whilst being able to make individual dogs (and their owners😄) feel special, irrespective of their needs or personalities. We always leave Nell at Johnny Whiskers knowing she’s in very safe hands xx
Lou is an absolute 5 star wonder where dogs are concerned, and there is no one I’d rather leave our dear Dr Watson with for daycare or holidays. He simply loves her, having been cared by Lou from a pup, and justifiably so - she knows dogs well and is 100% attentive to their every need. She even made him a Christmas stocking!
We have a first generation rescue Foxhound with a massive prey drive. It goes without saying he is not a "regular pet" Lou and I spoke at length about his needs and on our first meeting she took time to show us around her incredible set up and socialize Beau with her dogs. Lou has spent time building a fantastic relationship up with Beau gradually over time to the point where we all felt that he was ready to trial an overnighter. He passed with flying colours and is as at home with Lou and her family as he is with us. The pictures and videos she sends are a true joy to watch and we can see how happy he is with her. Her attention to detail regarding his needs and ensuring that the mix of dogs she has at any one time are faultless. I can honestly say she's the best dog boarder we've ever had and I'm so glad we found her.
Our almost 5 year old spaniel Mara had never stayed with anyone before so we are so lucky to have found such an amazing home from home for her with Lou. Mara settled in with her and her family and was so relaxed and happy, which meant that we were able to leave her with no concerns. We know that she had plenty of exercise and stimulation and Lou kept us up to date with all that was happening with texts and photos. We would have no hesitation in recommending Johnny Whiskers and Lou for the very best dog care.
Lou is an absolute wonderful person who loves my girls as much as I do. Rada and Willow get so excited when we are on the way to Lou’s for their weekly daycare and when I collect them they are happy tired girls. I wouldn’t trust anyone else but Lou and her amazing family of humans and dogs to look after them. Thank you for loving Rada and Willow so much.
We couldn't ask for a lovelier place for boarding and grooming for our Rosie.Lou makes her feel totally at home and she starts getting excited as soon as we turn into the lane.Lou always keeps us in touch with photos and videos which is so lovely to see.I cannot recommend Johnny Whiskers highly enough
