When we received a number of applicants for our summer trip, we chose Meagan and David based on their many great reviews. Boy did they live up to those reviews! We couldn't have been happier with M & D. They took fantastic care of our three babies, our home and our plants. Meagan was a great communicator the whole time, and both of them were really kind people who we felt comfortable with immediately. Since our flight was canceled due to storms and rebooked for the following day, we "moved" back home and we all very comfortably stayed at the house together. They were so considerate of our stressful situation and gave us more than enough space to relax and regroup. Our super shy kitty warmed up to them right away and we felt we were leaving our puppy, two cats, home and plants in really good hands for the three weeks we were gone. Our place was immaculate when we came home, and days after our return, we're still texting photos and friendly messages to our new friends.
Loved taking care of these two pups. They are charming, funny and well-behaved. Brian was welcoming enough to pick us up at the airport and to leave us dinner for our first night's stay. The house and gardens are lovely.
Marlene met me with a nice dinner the evening before she left on holiday. She provided very clear instructions on how to look after both her property and most importantly "Mr Gus". Mr Gus has been around long enough to know what the routine is and is very easy to look after. The property is in a quiet subdivision with river walks nearby.
Anne Marie & Matt have a beautiful home in a great location and were very clear on instructions. They printed out the welcome guide which was very helpful to refer to throughout the sit. Captain is so friendly and well mannered. He loves playing with his toys and going on walks. I had a wonderful time watching Captain! Thank you for having me!
Gayle and Kim are wonderful people and the dogs are super sweet and easy. I was given the use of their car, so I was able to see many places in and near Cairns that I wouldn’t have seen.
The communication was excellent prior to my arrival and they were easy to contact while they were away for the few questions I had. I arrived the day before their departure so they could show me everything. I stayed an extra day just in case they had flight delays. Gayle was kind to show me a few extra places I hadn’t seen during my stay.
The dogs are super sweet and very well behaved. The feeding is very easy because their meals are prepackaged and frozen, so you just pull them out of the freezer in the morning and feed them later.
Cairns has so many things to do and see. It’s absolutely beautiful and very easy to drive, even for me, who is not used to driving on the opposite side of the road. There’s a grocery store within walking distance, so you don’t have to drive if you don’t want to.
This was definitely my favorite sit. I feel fortunate to have had this time here with these lovely dogs and their awesome owners.
Matt and Susú were such great hosts and I love their dogs, Nacho and Blue! They were very clear about how to take care of their dogs and communicated frequently during the sit. Their house is beautiful and clean! I felt very comfortable housesitting for them and would do it again! Thank you Matt, Susú, Nacho and Blue!
