We usually do longer sits and it's rare for us to only do a week, but boy are we glad we did in this case! What a blissful place to spend 7 days, living out in the country with dogs, cats, chickens, sheep and even some deer friends popping by the garden. Alison and Robbie were so kind and generous to host us on the evening prior to the sit, and we loved getting to meet them and the animals. They are exactly the kind of people you want to meet when you move between sits a lot: welcoming, intelligent and filled with curiosity and great stories. The house is also a very special place and you'd be very hard hearted not to fall in love with it. Though there are lots of animals they're all really easy to look after and a pleasure to be around. We loved it and would go back in a heartbeat!
It was a pleasure to look after David and Helen's home in sunny Sussex and their gorgeous cat Bernard, while they were away for the weekend. It's such a lovely part of the world with all the National Trust houses and gardens in the area, cute villages, country pubs, and not too far a drive to the coast. I made the most of my stay. Thanks!
It was a pleasure housesitting for Orin, Charlotte, and Sergio. The communication ahead of and during the sit was clear, responsive and helpful, and Orin shared a helpful guide for his home and the kitty instructions ahead of time so I was able to be sure I had what I needed to provide great care. He was especially helpful in working through an alternative handoff plan given a big snow storm. Orin's condo is sunny, comfortable, wonderfully quiet, and unfussy. The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of counter space to prep and cook. The location is fantastic for having a grocery market, coffee, and restaurants within a very short walk, yet it has a nice small town feel. It is close to some walking and biking (and this visit, snowshoeing!) trails, which is a nice plus as well. Charlotte and Sergio are really sweet cats - Sergio adopted me instantly and Charlotte soon after. They have an easy routine and were especially fun at evening playtime. They took turns sleeping near or on me and Sergio would come sit and give me a little "bbbrrrrrrrtt!" chirp to wake me up for breakfast, but was easily convinced to have morning pets for a while in bed and Charlotte quickly joined the purrfest. Charlotte was pretty quiet for a Siamese, getting chatty during petting and waiting for food times, but not as vocal as many, and they are at ease with each other. All in all a great housesit, I'd go again if the opportunity came up!
We can’t say enough positives about our time with Chito at Laura & Joe’s beautiful home. Chito was one of the most-fun cats that we’ve had the pleasure to be around and we really enjoyed our lengthy conversations with her (she’s very chatty, ha!). She constantly kept us entertained, while also providing us with loads of affection. It was a ton of fun playing with her & her toys, and we absolutely dreaded when we had to part ways, as we became fast friends over the two weeks we spent with her, which didn’t feel like long enough. Joe & Laura are such a welcoming and generous couple, who made us feel right at home from the beginning. Their communication before & during the sit was top-notch, which we really appreciated. They also gave us excellent suggestions on things to do in the immediate area and elsewhere around the region, and took the time to show us on the map, as well. We felt like we had a good sense of the area rather quickly, thanks to them. Their inviting home was clean & comfortable, with a lot of Southwestern charm, and in a nice gated-neighborhood with lovely views of the Sandia mountains. It was also an easy 5-min walk to the banks of the Rio Grande and a short cycle away from Bosque Brewing and the Rail Runner station. We really felt like we were able to get settled and spread out while we were there, and it was nice having the office space to do work, with Chito’s help, of course :). We 100% recommend this sit, if you get the opportunity to look after Chito for Joe & Laura. We really hope to be back in the near-future and be reunited with our sweet buddy, Chito, who we miss dearly!
Rachel and Nick were so friendly and welcoming. Their communication was spot on, the house is wonderful and close to all the delights of Emsworth. Gus their cat is super friendly and very easy to look after, and very hard to leave ! Highly recommend this as a pet sit opportunity.
I loved looking after Buddy and Mia, they are the sweetest and funniest little dogs. Thanks for having me Graeme and Julie.
