David and Julie looked after our house and our 20 year old cat, Archie, whilst we were in New Zealand for three weeks. They are a lovely, quietly spoken couple, who exude calm, professionalism, warmth and good sense in their approach, enabling us to go on holiday secure in the knowledge that both our cat and our house would be well looked after and that if, by chance there was a medical emergency (which at Archie's age we had to be prepared for) they would deal with it in the best possible way. Our busy itinerary and a 13 hour time difference made direct communication quite challenging, but Julie and David checked in with us regularly and we were able to relax and enjoy the holiday without worry. Julie is home based which meant that Archie had plenty of company during the day and he was apparently very happy to make the transition from our laps to theirs for his evening cuddles. When we returned the cat seemed extremely content and had even put on a bit of weight (he has got very thin in his old age) so had obviously been very well cared for in our absence. The house was immaculate and Julie had bought us basic supplies to tide us over until we could get to the shops as well as some lovely flowers for the house. I have no hesitation in recommending them for other sits and indeed we would be delighted to have them back to sit for us again.
