Kelly
It was such a pleasure staying in Kelly’s home. Alla and I fell in love with the 4 cats and were also there to witness the first laying of eggs from the chickens! Olive, Catkowski, Ghenghis and Clio all have their unique personalities and it was really fun getting to see each of them get comfortable with us over our ~10 day stay. We loved playing with them and getting nightly cuddles from Olive. The actual house is very lovely and situated in a very quaint area with lots of beautiful surroundings. We had a wonderful time relaxing, cooking on the BBQ, and going for walks within the neighborhood. We had one issue come up with the locks of the doors but Kelly was very understanding and made sure we felt comfortable. We really appreciate the fast responsiveness and thoroughness with guidance on how to care for the pets and plants.

Kieran
It was a pleasure staying at Kieran and Janelle's - they were incredibly hospitable, and made us feel at home immediately by showing us around the house, giving us recommendations, and introducing us to Penny.
Penny was a dream to look after. She was well-behaved, friendly, calm and a very loving girl.
Wingham is a really nice town with lots of things to do locally. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
Thank you both for such a lovely stay :)

Anand
This was my first sit with Trusted House Sitters. I am so grateful to Anand and Kristin for the opportunity. Benny and Bhindi were such a pleasure, with very different, unique and loveable qualities. Benny is very approachable and followed me around and more consistently slept in my bed. Bhindi was initially cautious but started to approach me for pets and was really sweet. The neighborhood is great, with a convenient corner grocery store and a lot of retail in walking distance. It’s a beautiful. The basement bedroom is clean and nice and the bathroom looks newly renovated. . I hope Anand and Kristin will invite me back again.

Angela
Eden and I had a good time together on our daily walks and playtime in the garden. The chicken and rabbits were easy to take care of and I definitely appreciated the daily fresh eggs. I liked the welcome of Angela and the 3 kids! Lots of nature around and nice walking/hiking possibilities.
Overall beautiful sit.

Kyle & Christine
I first met Christine and Kyle on a video chat and found them to be friendly and caring. By the end of the call, we decided to move forward and arranged that I would arrive the night before their departure. They prepared detailed Welcome Guides ahead of time for both their house and pet. I was happy to have the time to review them and come with a few remaining questions. They were welcoming upon my arrival and we walked through the house and I was introduced to Tiger the cat. Since there was the possibility of them being out of cell range on their trip, they provided a contingency plan with contacts for family and neighbors in case there was an emergency. With an older cat especially, this provided a lot of comfort.

Tiger is a sweet and easy girl. It also turned out we have a lot in common…some annoying arthritis and not being able to move as fast as we’d like…especially on stairs! She was calm and relaxed upon meeting both my friend and me. We both really enjoyed our time with her, and the inclination is to want to have her around you. But because of allergens, sitters of Tiger need to be ok with limiting time with her, for the most part, to her upstairs room where she spends most of her time. Thankfully the weather was beautiful and we were also able to hang out with her outside on the patio and in her catio.

The house is mere minutes from Lake Whatcom and lots of recreational opportunities and a short drive from downtown Bellingham. We enjoyed a bike ride along the Bellingham waterfront, a downtown restaurant recommended by Christine and Kyle, and just taking in the peaceful setting and views from the comfortable patio. We so appreciated the sparkling clean interior and the comforts of this spacious home.

Most of all, these hosts exemplify the spirit of the “exchange” that Trusted House Sitters is based upon. I always come with a list of questions so that I can make sure I am attending to all the needs of the property and pet. Christine and Kyle are one of the few who asked what they could do to make my stay better! They made efforts so that Tiger wouldn’t disrupt our sleep and were very generous in offering up all of their home’s amenities for our use. I also appreciated them allowing a friend to accompany me and providing a second bedroom for her. They were great in making local suggestions, from hikes and rides to restaurants and local events. When they did have cell service, it was fun to swap stories and pictures of what we were up to on our respective vacations! They were just delightful as was the whole experience…hopefully to be repeated!
