I haven't been looking forward to leaving this review. When I came home, there was a lot to clean up and that was a super bummer. I spent my first morning googling/watching YouTube videos on how to fix my dishwasher, which is brand new and wasn't working. I also discovered that a brand new Green Pan that I'd put on a tippy top shelf in the pantry so it wouldn't get used was grease stained and covered in food. (I still can't get the stains out, try as I might.) The upstairs heat had been left on 70 for an extended period of time even though it was in the 80's and 90's outside. (Still awaiting my electric bill.) There was also a marble and wooden cutting board that got broken; totally fine bc these things happen. A & W said they would replace, but did not replace. The dog was fine, although I'm not certain he got a lot of exercise, per my next door neighbor who let him join for some of her dog walks and also told me there was a day when he was left alone for a long time. It felt like there was a lot of wear & tear on my house and belongings. This experience makes me inclined to just pay a dog sitter next time.
Lena and Alex were delightful. I felt I was leaving my home and animals to friends. The house was clean and tidy on my return and the animals were cared for and happy. Our time overlapping to get set up and all animal care and house information clear and questions asked and answered was enjoyable even to my adult children who were accompanying me on my trip. We felt we had received a gift in meeting Lena and Alex in sharing some meals and stories with them.
Annie is amazing! My four legged babies absolutely loved her! I think they were kinda sad to see me back because she spoiled them so much. She was extremely responsive, provided me with adorable videos of the pups while on my trip, and kept my home neat and tidier than when I left. She was such a pleasure to have, easy going, responsive, and genuinely care for my doggies. I was so nervous because this was my first time having someone I didn’t know watch my home and my pups. She made the process very easy. We FaceTimed, and it was clear that she would be the perfect fit. She will always be welcome back at my home. She’s top notch!
