Leslie
Leslie and her family are absolutely lovely and welcoming individuals. Their house is stunning, boasting several amenities that, unfortunately, I couldn't fully enjoy due to my winter visit. They mentioned the heated pool and sauna weren't functioning during my stay. However, the dogs, besides being absolutely beautiful, were incredibly friendly and delightful companions.

As someone unfamiliar with Madrid, I received the address and confirmation just the night before the sitting day. I noticed the distance of the house after accepting the sitter confirmation. From the outset, our communication seemed slightly misaligned. They expected my constant presence at the house, but I had communicated earlier that my intention was to explore Madrid daily, planning to venture into the city center. They assured me there was a direct bus to the house, yet it stopped running by 9 pm. Given the long, steep hill to climb, my only option was to rely on a car—their car, to be exact.

They were always understanding. When I expressed feeling bored being confined at the house with nothing to do, they explained their vision was for those staying to enjoy the house. While I believe this could be fantastic in summer, it didn’t quite fit the winter season.

Regrettably, I made the mistake of inviting some friends over for video games and board games without informing Leslie. I was contemplating ways to avoid leaving the house and at the same time, have a pleasant time.

I am genuinely sorry that it had to end this way. However, I believe it was for the best as I felt quite confined, and as a traveler, I seek freedom and connection with people. I appreciate the opportunity and wish Leslie and her family all the best.

Imogen
Matt and I loved looking after Tino and staying in Imogen’s lovely home. Tino is such an entertaining character who also seemed to enjoy our company. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend TIno and Imogen and are looking forward to another sit in a couple of months
