Dog Sitters in Sibton

I have had many many pet sitters over the last few years and unfortunately this is the first time I feel the need to write a less than 5 star review. Evin has lots of good reviews and when we met her everything was fine and I felt happy to trust our cats and apartment with her. My biggest disappointment was that 3 days before the end of the sit she messaged saying she was leaving the next day as she had some ‘unexpected news’ and hoped we could ‘work around’ it. They are not plants. I expect a level of commitment for what you agreed to when you are trusted to stay and care for someone’s pets. When we came back the apartment was not as clean as we left it (I really make an effort to make sure everything is really clean for house sitters.) The litter trays were also completely full (more than a couple of days worth). Our bin in the kitchen, which is rather new, had 2 deep dents in the top which Evin didn’t tell us about. There were also some odd things, like it seems like my shoes had been used, as the laces were tied up and pulled tight, and I don’t take my shoes off with the laces done up. And my wardrobe was left ajar, and it was closed when I left. I was really surprised by our negative experience as Evin has lots of positive reviews. She had been travelling for a year and ours was the last sit before she was going back to the US. I can only assume she didn’t have the same commitment to what both sides agree to and expect during a house sit anymore.

This is the third time that Wendy has sat for me. The dogs love her, are very chilled after she has been, and I can relax knowing that they are well cared for. She was a bit unlucky with the weather this time, it was either too hot or too wet, but hopefully it will behave itself next time! As usual, house was left clean and tidy. The best! It was a real pleasure to meet Carolyn and Jonty and we were so impressed by, and grateful to them, for their wonderful care of our home, garden and pets while we were away. We received lots of lovely pictures and messages showing four very happy cats who were being showered with love and attention. It was also great to see how Jonty and Carolyn enjoyed being here in Holbeton and the surrounding area and we liked hearing about their trips out and about. Retuning home to a clean, tidy house (with laundry done!) after a tiring day’s travel was wonderful. Thoughtful, personal touches, like fresh flowers and a lovely handwritten card, were much appreciated by us. Thank you so much Carolyn and Jonty. We couldn’t have asked for two kinder, more enthusiastic sitters and we really hope you’ll come back!

So lovely to have Sue & Adie to look after Daphne and our home again (2nd stay). We really enjoyed catching up with them for dinner the night before we left. As ever, we enjoyed regular messages and pictures updating us on Daphne’s exploits. She seemed to have a ball with lots of lovely long walks, ball games and swims in the pond. We greatly appreciated Sue & Adie staying much later than they had planned when our flight was very delayed and also leaving the house immaculate with a very kind personalised note and a “pick me up” after a long day’s travelling. Sue & Adie went way above & beyond. We would have no hesitation in inviting Sue & Adie to sit for us again and we would be pleased to recommend them to others.

It was our first time using this website so was worried I had done everything right! Heidi and Simon are just the best house sitters! We have 3 dogs and one of them are blind so I was a little worried, I absolutely shouldn’t of been Heidi and Simon just excelled my expectations they loved and cared for my dogs as if they were there own! Such lovely people turned up on time and made me feel really happy leaving them, highly recommend Heidi and Simon and can’t wait to have them back! Thank you both for loving my pets whilst I was away ❤️

Andrew and Jennifer are delightful and love our home and our dogs (very nearly) as much as we do! I would have no hesitation in recommending them, except for the fact that, like all best kept secrets, I don't want to share them too widely!!

Hannah and Chris were delightful and felt very relaxed leaving Brandy with them in our home. They were very efficient with communication prior to the sit and made a special effort to arrive before we left to have a handover. They sent us regular updates and pics ! We came home to a lovey tidy home ! We would most definitely recommend them and would be delighted if they wanted to sit for us again! Thank you both

Deb and Gray were fantastic sitters and helpfully communicative from the start. They looked after our dogs extremely well and left our house immaculate. They are friendly, responsible, kind and reliable. Would heartily recommend them.

From the moment we met Ellie and Sean we knew they were going to be very conscientious and caring whilst looking after our dogs . Major, their own dog came to stay also . He is a well trained , easy going dog who blended easily with ours . Ellie and Sean have strong attention to detail and gave us confidence that they could manage Cillas medication and both her and Douglas’s routine . The videos sent regularly and photos illustrated how content the dogs were and how they had bonded with Ellie and Sean. Our home was respected and cared for . All my house plants were healthy and they helped to store our large crop of apples. We do hope to see Ellie and Sean again and think they are great house sitters !

Cindy communicated very well and was able to pop by before we left which made the process very easy. Both boys loved her, even the shy one! The house was left clean and tidy and the boys were happy. Would highly recommend and invite to sit again.

Isabell took wonderful care of Venus. She was quite attentive, and won Venus over quite quickly which is always a good sign. We got updates almost daily show a very happy and content kitty. Isabelle was easy to connect with, happily joining an initial video chat, and very responsive with texts. We felt confident in her ability to care for Venus and apartment- regardless of what happened. We would gladly welcome her back again.
