Carole & Robert were lovely hosts who invited me for dinner and to stay the night before they left for their holiday the next day, so we had a relaxed and thorough handover. Their home is a beautiful old house with stunning views. Monty and I spent a large part of our time in the large well-equipped kitchen – me working remotely on my laptop, and Monty curled up in his bed close by. Monty is very affectionate and up for cuddles and belly rubs. He also enjoys nothing better than playing chase with his toys around the large hall and up and down the stairs. This came in handy, exercise-wise, when the weather wasn’t so good. Monty will guard his toys and perhaps the odd biscuit that he hasn’t got round to eating yet. A couple of times he did get quite growly and grumpy when he wasn’t in the mood to go out for a walk. On those occasions it was easier to just leave him to it – although the cheese trick did work too! Once out on a walk, however, Monty is very happy - he has good recall and doesn’t go too far away off the lead. Nearby Petworth Park is a fantastic place to walk and explore, as is the Shimmings. The town has plenty of interesting shops and places to eat and I would love to return if invited – perhaps when the weather isn’t quite so inclement!
I really enjoyed my time with Lola and Oreo, they are lovely, well-behaved dogs who love a cuddle on the couch. It's a beautiful house in a quiet area, with nice walks and still with easy access to London. Sarah is a great host who met with me briefly before the sit and kept in touch throughout. I would absolutely recommend her and look after them again.
Maria was a very kind and welcoming host! She was able to meet me at the train station, before we headed to her apartment. Luce and Amor are lovely cats who like to play and cuddle! The apartment is located about 25 minutes from Basel SBB with the train, and it can take 5-8 minutes to walk to the station. I had a great time, and kept in contact with Maria while she was on her trip!
Nora was very lovely, she welcomed me a day earlier and we had dinner together. Elsa and Gina were absolute dream cats, Gina would sit on you if you laid down which was adorable. The house and location were great too, absolutely recommend 🥰
Greg and Beau have a beautiful quiet home in a peaceful neighborhood with a beautiful view. The highlight of our sit was Beau though. I have never fallen in love with a little dog more. Beau is such a little gentlemen except when he is being your guard and then he will tell you and the world to watch out, because he takes his job seriously. He has a lot of energy for being a bit up in years, I would never guess he was older because he doesn’t show it. He can jump really high and he doesn’t jump ON you he just jumps to show his excitement when you walk in the door and it’s hilarious and endearing. One time I came in with some bags I needed to put on the counter so I did not bend down and pet him immediately when I walked in and when I turned around I felt him tap my shoulder! That was a huge jump!!! I was impressed! As soon as my daughter and I greeted him well he would settle down and lay about again. If I was sitting he was on my lap, if I was sleeping he was curled up beside me. He is a great companion and very sweet. He was really easy to care for and I recommend that anyone who is a dog lover consider sitting for Beau and Greg. I’m sure Beau would quickly win your heart too ❤️. The only issue I had the whole time was that my phone service did not work in the area at all. So when we were not in the house on wifi I was not able to communicate via phone but inside the house the wifi worked fine so it was a small price to pay. Luckily my daughter has a different carrier and her phone worked ok there so I know it’s not a problem that everyone would experience, and it can be mitigated by downloading the directions to Greg’s house before heading there. The beautiful area’s perceived remoteness (while still being 20 minutes from the city) was worth the lack of cell service for me! Overall, everything went well and we would be happy to spend more time with Beau, he is quite the character and super fun!
Jeni has an incredibly beautiful and well-kept home, and Oscar is a sweetheart. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here!
