Jenna and Jay
Jenna and Jay were an absolute dream to communicate with! Everything was so easy from the beginning - and they were so hospitable - even leaving a little gift for us as a thank you for minding Cava! Cava is such a sweet little thing, she loves cuddles and playing and it’s great as you can bring her around with you anywhere you go because she loves her carry bag and she will let you know when she wants to go out - we were able to enjoy lunch in a dog friendly restaurant with her without issue! I would really recommend Jenna, jay and cava and would happily sit for them again :)

What a slice of paradise Claudia and Mike have lovingly created on beautiful Bainbridge Island! From the moment I was warmly greeted by handsome, happy Nookie, Claudia and Mike's kindness and hospitality made this a memorable stay in the best of ways.
Claudia is a seasoned host and provided a comprehensive 'farm' tour to ensure my stay was safe and enjoyable. Care instructions (and printout) for the chickens, bees, gardens, home, Virgil and Nookie were clear and easy to understand. Mike and Nookie showed me their walking route through the park to the beach which never ceased to be an interesting place to walk, especially at low tide. Nookie loved any and all walks! He wore an electronic collar when at home and I kept him on leash at the beach or on one of the local trails where he was well mannered around other dogs and people. He settled quickly in the car. I couldn't have asked for a more agreeable companion than this charming snow-white pup who loved a belly rub and sleeping on the floor next to the bed. Virgil ventured in and out as his leisure, liked pets and attention. They make an excellent pair!
Communicating with Claudia was a breeze, any questions or concerns I had were addressed quickly and updates from the farm and island were fun to send...the difficult part was which highlight to share!
The home was clean, comfortable, full of interesting art, books, family photos, two! art studios to explore when not siting in the garden or on the deck with Nookie and soaking in the beautiful water view. I enjoyed using the kitchen-with-a-view to cook most of my meals although the island offers many options for dining out. Shopping was easy as I knew to go at off-peak times as well as using the visitor-friendly local library.
The peaceful routine of watering, visiting with the clucking chickens, gathering eggs, picking raspberries, sugar peas, tending to the bees with Nookie by my side and Virgil close by made the days pass too quickly. Having lived in the Puget Sound area for years I treasure these opportunities to experience a more personal side to what makes a place like Bainbridge inviting and unique-kind homeowners like Claudia and Mike, beloved, entertaining pets and welcoming home surrounded by natural beauty. Thank you for the hospitality, til we meet again!

Anyone who has spent time with staffys/bullys knows there’s a certain kind of love and affection only they can provide: An overwhelmingly wiggle butt, sit on top of you, pressing their forehead into you, woo-wooing, sassy, big headed, emotionally exploiting land seal puppy eyes,l and exceptionally excellent cuddling love. Margot and Leo fit this 100% I loved every minute with these two. They are so distinct in their personalities, with definite big brother/little sister energies. Leo is friends with everyone and everything, he does great off leash and is a total goof. Margot is the sweetest angel in the house but will keep you on your toes when you go for a walk. Janine and Ewen were so kind, communicative and welcoming, making sure my stay in their lovely home was comfortable. The house is conveniently located near transport with easy access to whatever you need. There are lovely walks direct from the house as well. I would absolutely recommend this sit to anyone, though they might have to fight me for it. I already miss Leo and Margot. Thank you again Janine and Ewen for your warm welcome and for letting me experience so much joy from the pups.

Thornton
We thoroughly enjoyed our short sit for Thornton.

Their very comfortable home is within easy access of SH1, the city centre and the spectacular Hamilton Gardens. There is a large park 5mins away where we took the dogs for walks, and there is a good selection of cafes and food outlets nearby. We slept in the cosy self contained Airbnb area and also had full access to the main house and pool.

The best part of our sit was most definitely looking after Stan the cat and the delightful dogs, Miss Daisy and Master Mac. All three of them love human company and readily show their enjoyment of belly rubs and cuddles. In the evening, all three of them would snuggle up with us watching TV. We certainly enjoyed their company too.
Daisy and Mac look forward to their walks and Daisy, in particular, jumped up and down in excitement when we reached up for the leads. While Mac, as an older dog, did slow down after 15 or so minutes of walking (especially in the searing heat on those days we were there), Daisy has boundless energy.

We can highly recommend this house sit and would be very keen to help out again.

Jenn
Izzy is an absolute delight - the sweetest kitty you can imagine, extremely friendly right off, and a joy to spend time with. She required some oral (syringe) medication during our sit and she was easy going each time. Izzy loves chin pets, cuddling, and sitting under the trees in the front yard.
She also loves treats, but to keep her hydrated, it was good to limit treats and blend in a syringe of water with her food.

Jenn is a fantastic host, generous and kind, with a wonderful home in a great area. She was also fast and easy to communicate with and extremely helpful.

There are many restaurants, shops, markets, and cafes all in short walking distance, and it's a short train or ride to attractions like Stanley Park, Grandville, Yaletown, etc. 😊
