Diana
As seasoned housesitters with a passion for pets, our recent stay in Diana and Dave's beautiful home in Corral de Tierra, CA was truly a rewarding experience. Nestled amidst rolling hills and overlooking the Santa Lucia Mountains, this idyllic retreat provided a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our primary responsibility was caring for Ollie, a delightful 2-year-old golden doodle, who quickly became our beloved companion during our stay.

Diana's comprehensive welcome guide ensured a smooth transition into our housesitting role, leaving us well-prepared for our responsibilities. Ollie's energy and loving nature brought us immense joy throughout our stay. We enjoyed playing with him in the fully fenced yard, where he would energetically chase his toys and engage in spirited games. Ollie's love for walks enabled us to explore the picturesque surroundings, with paved roads offering stunning vistas and occasional encounters with friendly neighbors. We especially appreciated the nearby swim and tennis club, which Diana kindly provided passes for. It was a great option for relaxation and recreation, offering us an opportunity to unwind and soak up the beauty of the area.

Diana's home, a spacious haven with four bedrooms, three baths, and a lap pool, provided us with all the comforts we needed. The panoramic views from the living room offered a constant reminder of the natural beauty that surrounded us. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to indulge in our culinary endeavors, and the comfortable bedroom provided a peaceful sanctuary to recharge after our daily adventures.

Our communication with Diana was seamless, reflecting her generosity and accommodating nature. She ensured we were well-informed and supported throughout our stay. The trust and warmth we experienced from Diana and her family made it clear that they truly care about their housesitters and the well-being of their home and pets.

Beyond the rewarding experience of caring for Ollie and the property, our time in Corral de Tierra provided us with an abundance of activities and attractions. Just a short drive away, the charming towns of Monterey and Carmel offered cultural experiences, art, and delightful restaurants. The allure of Monterey Bay and the majestic Pacific Ocean beckoned us to indulge in coastal hikes and appreciate the serenity of the surroundings.

In hindsight, we reflect on our time in Diana's home with immense gratitude and fulfillment. The combination of Ollie's playful nature, the awe-inspiring views, and the close proximity to captivating attractions made this sit one that will be cherished in our memories. We highly recommend Diana as a homeowner, and we eagerly look forward to any future opportunities to return to this remarkable retreat.

Tim
This was a wonderful sit. Tim and Heather were hospitable and provided everything I needed to be successful. The dogs are fantastic and so fun! Cody is a little cuddlebug who is happiest curled up on your lap. Kaya loves to romp around in the yard and play catch.

The house itself is secluded and beautiful. There are lots of plants and flowers. The surrounding area is gorgeous with lots to explore. I was able to meet Tim and Heather beforehand and review all the details, but they also left a thorough guide.

I'd highly recommend this sit to anyone.

Frances
Frances was a wonderful host and Hester and Leila were the cutest company for my weekend in Nashville! The home is located in a super cute and safe neighborhood with all the east Nashville charm with plenty within walking distance or a short car ride. I truly appreciated having somewhere quiet and comfortable off the hectic Broadway strip for my stay while still being close enough to get everywhere I needed to quickly and for low cost. The pups were very easy and low maintenance and Frances was communicative and flexible with any questions that came up. Definitely would stay again and recommend!

Susan
Sue and Rod's place is a dream! Based right by Killeenaran Pier on the West Coast of Ireland, the views are truly breathtaking with a 360 view of the water from the living room. We were very lucky with the weather and were able to take the kayaks out and go sea-swimming - it feels like a retreat away from the rest of the world!

Sue made a delicious meal the evening before their holiday and did everything she could to make me feel at home! The annex is a great spot - you have everything you could ever need - including your own kitchen and bathroom.

As for the pets, Freya is the lovliest girl with a very calming and gentle spirit. She likes cuddles and going swimming. I had great fun with her - she makes excellent company and I will miss her! The cats are fab - Clio likes to sit on your lap and purr. Theo is more independent and likes to sleep smooshed into a cardboardbox in the sun.

Overall, I had a fantastic stay at Sue and Rods. They are very kind hosts who will leave clear instructions, communicate well and make sure you have a great stay. Freya also, will ensure you have a great time! Thanks so much for having me and I hope to see you all soon :-)

Wing
Wing invited me to start off my December sits at her place. I’m so glad I got to meet Sophie, Ollie, and Chewy! They’re such a cute bunch. Sophie followed me at all times which made me feel special, she even curled up on my lap (and shoulder a few times) during work hours. Ollie was the most playful of the three but had his cuddly moments as well. Chewy was the main cuddler. He’d crawl under the covers to be right next me. Feeding them was pretty easy, as was kenneling them when I needed to run into town. I didn’t meet them before Wing and Max left but all three were very excited and friendly when I (a stranger at this point) barged in to hangout for two weeks. We immediately bonded!

The guest room was nice and clean when I arrived. The bathroom has lots of counter space which is a huge plus for me! The pantry was help yourself which could be a big appeal to someone less picky than I am but very much appreciated! I didn’t get a chance to utilize the gym but it’s bigger than any other home gym I’ve seen in person and I appreciate being allowed to use it! As a full time sitter sometimes it’s hard to get good workouts in. I also appreciate them having a cleaner come in after I left so I didn’t have to do a super intense cleaning routine before I took off. The location is beautiful! I loved my daily visits from deer and all of the birds.

The down sides are that I have Verizon and I had no service there. Luckily there are phone apps and the WiFi worked so it didn’t mess up my remote work at all. I’d recommend planning on using an app and you should be good! Other issue was that I wasn’t prepared for so much inside doggy messes during my stay. My current outside circumstances for the specific two weeks of the sit didn’t align for extra cleanups (and Ollie has big spit ups, the poor guy). If this had been communicated I would have passed on these specific dates and sat for them in the future when I was feeling better and given them an opportunity to find a sitter who could have handled all that easy peasy and not had to pay for outside help like I did on one of the days (which Wing was apologetic and allowed the extra person to come by and recommended someone for the job). As someone who used to sit for pay, it was a big twist to get so desperate I felt the need to pay for help on my sit.

I definitely recommend the sit, just maybe not when you’ve recently had the flu, food poisoning, it’s a certain week of the month, you’re pregnant and/or can’t stomach it. Luckily there’s hardwood floors and they have tons of cleaning supplies and even had a box of gloves which I was super grateful for so that helped! I tried buying potty pads to help but they’d move their spot to right next to it so I wouldn’t bother spending money on those to try to help. I took them out every 30 minutes- two hours and ended up just working right next to the open door for them. That seemed to help with Ollie’s spit ups but Chewy walked by me one day to go inside for what I assumed was water but then realized he pottied. There didn’t seem to be a full fix to the frequency but I’d recommend working fully out back if you’re able to and any time anyone moves inside, take them out just in case. And keep an extra close eye on them because Sophie tries to immediately eat her own poo and Ollie does the same with his spit up. They’re weirdos, but lovable weirdos! I wish I had been given the chance to take the sit at a more opportune time but we’ve all lived and learned.

I do recommend checking out the cute gift shop about five minutes down the road and if it’s Spring-Fall then the Skyline Drive In Movie about twenty five minutes away. They’re both a good time!
