Melissa and Shyam were ideal sitters! We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. First, this wasn’t a normal sit. Because we were on an extended trip we had multiple sitters lined up and Melissa had to coordinate the pick up with the previous sitter as well as the hand off to the next sitters. All went off without a hitch. Second, they had a few unforeseen challenges to handle at the house and we were not easily reachable because of our boating adventure up the west coast of Vancouver Island. They unclogged a gutter downspout during a sudden downpour, fended off a sudden assault of sugar ants in the kitchen without using nasty chemicals or having to call the exterminator, and they were extra loving and supportive of Jetsam, who was exhibiting a little separation anxiety (or at least that’s what we think he was feeling when he was caught nibbling on her computer power cord). We were told by our next sitters that they left the house in immaculate shape and had not only spent time getting them up to speed on what to expect, but also left great suggestions and a checklist that they had created to help keep them on track with all the household and kitty duties. During our travels, we always had a detailed update and adorable photos of our kitties waiting for us every time we could get internet service. They kept our anxiety levels as low as could be hoped for, given our time away and distance from our babies. We were incredibly lucky to have had the chance to have Melissa and Shyam take care of our kitties, house, plants and the wild birds. The only downside to their stay is we didn’t get to come home to thank them in person. We hope they will stay for us and Jets and Flotsy again soon. Cheers!
We were so pleased Angela was available again to stay with our senior kitty Chanel. Angela is very dependable, friendly, tidy, and communicative. We always know Chanel is in good hands. Turns out our house was in good hands as well. Angela suspected a gas leak and contacted the gas company. She was so helpful to meet the gas company rep and also our plumber in our absence. We offered to return home early to deal with it ourselves but she assured us it was no problem. Sorry that she had to deal with these extra stresses but you can count on her to be proactive and handle things on your behalf. She takes very good care of Chanel and always leaves our house super tidy.
Jerimiah and Kendra for the Win!!! What can I say. This was our first long term need for a house sitter and our first experience with zeewoi. We were very anxious about going away for so long and putting our trust into a new community but when we video chatted with Kendra and Jerimiah we knew right away they were the perfect fit for our crazy critters and our country home. They were very punctual upon arrival as well as great communicators. We established a four way phone line where we maintained friendly, often times hilarious updates on the daily goings on with videos and pictures of our furry family and home. It was so reassuring knowing and feeling that our home and critters were actually being loved and cared for. Knowing this helped my husband and I to relax and really enjoy our adventure. When we arrived home Kendra had made a nourishing and delicious homemade soup for dinner!!! When the time came to say goodbye the door stayed open. We look forward to future opportunity's when we can share our critters and home again and sit together and share a meal. Thank you!!
We arrived two days before the sit as Ursula wished and were shown around the house and introduced to the pets. Ursula and Charles kept very good care of us during these days and we had plenty of time to learn the ropes. Feeding the cats, dogs, chickens and geese in the morning didn't take very long and then there is plenty of own time before the dogs are taken for a walk in the afternoon. Mystique and Bombac are both lovely dogs but with Mystique you need to be alert for other dogs and cars. She is a very strong dog and you need to have a good grip on her before she decides to chase a car or other dog. All in all we had a very restful stay amongst the olive and carob trees.
