We spent 2 weeks with Monfils. He is an absolute sweetheart. Monfils is the most independent kitty we have met so far. Since he is an indoor/outdoor cat, he likes to spend majority of his time outdoor. We were told not to worry if he might not show up a day or so. We usually spent time with him on the front porch, the deck in the back or the brushes next to the parking spot. Monfils usually came back when he needed affections, caressed and food. He was vocal whenever we spent time with him. Monfils is super easy to take care of. Kattie house is nicely decorated. She has many plants in the house, and it feels like we are in a beautiful greenhouse. Her house is only 20+ minutes' drive to all the downtown attractions. Kattie was super nice to us, even left us some goodies and checked on us all the time. Thank you so much for the opportunity to meet with Monfils. We miss this little fellow already.
A gorgeous ranch with high energy dogs. Barb is a great communicator.
Susan has been amazing from the from the first second we met! She's incredibly hospitable and basically told me that her home is my home! She took the time to show me around town and really made sure I had everything I needed to have a good housesit! Meeting Simon and Sophie was joyful from the start; I immediately got accepted into the pack! Simon is the friendliest and most laid back cat I ever met and Sophie is just the biggest sweetheart ever. Simon will do his own thing most of the time but he also just really loves hanging around you and he will always come upstairs with you when you go to bed. Sophie just wants to be around you always and will follow you everywhere. She is the most loveable dog ever, with not a single bad bone in her body. She loves going on walks, but playing with the laser pointer is what she lives for. Its incredibly entertaining and just so much fun to see her enjoy herself that much! Bainbridge and the surrounding area is also pretty amazing and the fact that I was able to use Susan's car made it that I could really explore the area and visit all these beautiful places. I really just had an amazing time and 10 out of 10 would recommend sitting for Susan! I miss Sophie and Simon already!
A lovely sit with two very different cats whose characters are very interchangeable. When treats are concerned Dreihzen is most definitely the boss and will push Cuddy out of the way but turn it around & it’s food time then you will have to watch over them like a hawk to stop Cuddy from stealing Dreihzen’s food. Dreizhen is a slow eater and needs to have time to eat but Cuddy will wolf down her food with one eye on Dreihzen’s bowl & step over Dreihzen to finish off her bowl. So I usually just sat in the kitchen while they were eating. Dreihzen was such ashy little cat but loved to be brushed and stroked if she felt like it otherwise she kept very much to herself. She would have a mad 5 minutes as all cats do but usually sat and watched mee play with the toys. So I spent more time retrieving the balls I’d thrown for her. But Cuddy would go all out and loved to dash and run after & attack the toys attached to the fishing poles. But she most definitely however short also needed her little trip outside no matter if there was a new layer of snow . I think while i was there it snowed a total of about 60 cm so I had to shovel the path to the house which was also much appreciated by Cuddy. House is a typical wooden Norwegian house so no candles or open flames (electric cooking). In a great location. 5 minutes from a busstop from which you can catch buses & go hopping all around the island of Troms itself and to the area’s on the opposite shores land and sea side . And added bonus you might even get the chance to see the famous Northern Lights. An experience in itself to experience the virtually 24hr darkness periode a lot diffrent from the 24hr summertime. Communication with Sarah went well. I kept her updated with daily photos and short updates !
We had a fantastic time at Tom and Sally's place. They are a lovely, warm family who made us immediately feel welcome and at home. They made sure that our young boys were well catered for with things to occupy them over the week and there were some really thoughtful touches like leaving Spiderman towels out for them. It was very easy communicating with Sally before the sit and they both left us with clear written instructions of what needed to be done with the animals and house which made our life really easy. The dogs were great; Bunty has a lovely nature and Harry was a good, fun, playful puppy. The sheep and goat were self-sufficient and the chickens needed very little doing to them. The cats were well-natured and easy to feed. The horses were also easy to sort. Percy Shelley, the tortoise, was surprisingly popular and the boys loved feeding him. The house and gardens are beautiful and we had some lovely evenings sitting out under the covered patio. We also made good use of the pool and the boys made full use of the garden. Altogether, we had a lovely sit and are very grateful to Tom and Sally for being so hospitable and easy to deal with. We would gladly go back for another sit.
I had a great time at sitting for Lindsey. She is easy to communicate with, and left great instructions for the care of the cat and the chickens. Juniper is still young and very playful. The chickens are easy to take care of and the eggs are delicious. I want to go back anytime. Lindsey needs help.
