Catherine was a super host - very generous and kind. Jinny is an absolutely gorgeous cat and was good company, and entertaining! Their home is very comfortable and is in the most idyllic location. I spent hours watching the ever changing view, and there are lots of walks with stunning scenery straight out the front door. Perfectly situated to enjoy the glorious Lake District. I hope I can come back another time as there is still so much to explore.
Our stay with Khola was absolutely delightful. Jonathan welcomed us warmly into their cozy home. It felt like a vacation and is so close to the beach. We arrived a bit early, allowing us to take a fantastic walk with Jonathan and Khola, which helped us understand what Khola enjoys, especially her love for playing on the beach. Khola is a sweet and adorable lady! We couldn't resist telling her how cute she is, and she would always respond with a loud exhale. We had such a good time with her. This was one of the nicest weekends while pet sitting! Thank you, Jonathan, Gareth and Khola!
I had a lovely couple of weeks looking after Inca and Minimog. They're both adorable and very easy to care for. Matt and Katie were great—super friendly, easy to talk to, and always ready to answer my questions. Their home is beautiful and very comfortable. The area is fantastic, with quiet, leafy streets lined with lovely homes. I would love to sit for Inca and Minimog again and highly recommend this sit if you're thinking of applying. Thanks again, Matt and Katie!
Thank you very much to Sarah and Rania who made us an amazing welcome. They left the whole house at our disposal, and everything was perfect for our arrival. There is a large dog park right in front of their house, with a snack bar and the people are very nice. More of than, the region is magnificent. We had the pleasure to be 2 weeks with their 4 yorkshires. We literally fell in love with these 4 extraordinary little dogs, filled with love and affection. This was our first experience, and we were very lucky to meet these 4 little dogs who immediately adopted us and were very affectionate, we got very attached to them. It was just happiness.
Housesitting for Geniese and her family was a wonderful experience! They gave me a rundown of the house, explaining my responsibilites while helping familiarize myself with the house. They easily demonstrated how to clean the litterbox robot and how to refill the cat food stations. Operating both gagets were very easy. I was given access to an app to monitor Little and BB's eating habits. I'd get a little notification on my phone whenever one of them ate, with a breakdown of how much they had eaten and what was left in their bowl. BB and me hit it off really well. He often followed my around the house, wanting to be involved in whatever I was doing. He enjoys his pets and "kneeding the dough" on whatever blanket you have wrapped around yourself. BB really liked being up in the cat tree where he could keep an eye on me or take a nice cat nap. I was able to play with BB using one of his feather toys. He prefers stalking the toy before pouncing. He'll let you know when he is done playing by losing interest and walking away. In the mornings BB would like to curl up in bed with me. Thanks to the food app and the litterbox robot I was able to monitor BB for any concern of any urine crystals forming. Little was really cautious with me the first day. He'd make some appearances in the living room to observe or grab a bite to eat. I would try talking to him while not holding direct eye contact so as not to appear scary. On the second day he approached me and gave me a nose boop. By the end of the day he approached me and allowed me to pet him, where he proceeded to flop all over the floor wanting more pets. Out of the two cats he is definitely the more vocal cat. Little is a master at hide and seek, especially while wandering in the garage. Towards the last few days of my stay, Little would sleep at the end of the bed. As this was my first housesit using TrustedHousesitters, my time sitting BB and Little exceeded my expectations! Geniese and her family made me feel welcome in their home. They were very responsive to any questions I had through text and shared pictures of their travels with me. I truly enjoyed my time housesitting for Geniese and her family. I would gladly housesit for them again in the future!
A very comfortable house in a great location, near a large park with plenty of walks & a public pool. I only looked after London (cat), who was a delight - so easy going & a real snuggler. Leah & her family were warm & welcoming - her kids showed me EVERYTHING, included where the Bundt cake tin is, you know, just in case! So, I was set. Highly recommend.

Venetia has looked after our Jack Russel while we were away for 11 days. This was the first time. And apparently Bell our dog has enjoyed her stay. She can be bit vocal has Jack Russell’s do. But Venetia managed to keep under control and Bell was even allowed to sit on her lap and get cuddles. So yes 5* and I will recommend Canine Comfort to anyone who needs a place to leave their animals.
My mother’s golden retrievers have stayed here on many occasions. They are always eager to go inside and make themselves at home, having the freedom of the whole ground floor of the house and unlimited access to the large, safe, enclosed garden. Unfortunately a couple of weeks ago whilst they were staying here, after a day of extraordinarily heavy rain I received a phone call (as the designated emergency contact) informing me that the house had become flooded. I was unable to collect the dogs immediately but this was not a problem and they were kept safe and dry in a small stable a short distance from the main house. The roads surrounding Spaxton had suffered terrible flooding, I had to turn back twice to seek alternative routes and there was a lot of silt and debris on the roads. I was greeted warmly when I arrived and witnessed the devastation caused by the flood waters. The whole ground floor of the house had been 6 inches deep in muddy water which the fire brigade had helped to pump out, leaving a tide mark, silt and ruined flooring and furniture in its wake. As I only had one lead the owner kindly lent me a spare lead and helped me get the dogs into my very small hatchback. She apologised repeatedly and put the welfare of the dogs in her care first over the care for her home. For this we are truly grateful. When my mother visited a few days later to settle her bill, the full amount for the week that her dogs were booked was adamantly refused and the owner would only accept payment for the days they were with her. You cannot say fairer than that. Canine Comfort, I wish you all the best and know that my mother’s dogs really can’t wait to stay with you again.
Amazing - the best place to leave your dog :) A really lovely lady who has looked after all manner of animals all her life. Very knowledgeable and loving towards all animals too!! Lovely area for the dogs to roam around too :)
We have left our Mini Schnauzer, Teddy with Venetia on 2 occasions in 2023 and will continue to do so. He is well looked after and is happy to return there. You won’t find anywhere better and the rates are excellent.
Disappointing. They let us down badly. Premises apparently flooded and my son had to pick our dog up after just a few days into our holiday. Dog fortunately was then looked after by 4 different family members until we returned from holiday.
We love Vanesha of Canine Comfort and her care for our dog Stanley is great. We know he is safe and well looked after. Would recommend
