This was Lana's first sit and we would definitely recommend her for anyone to use her for a sit. Arrived on time, communicated very well and our kiddos fell in love with the care she should while watching over them.
From our first message and video call through to the hand over Lisa and Sam were very easy to chat to. Upon my arrival to hand over keys and meet my new pet friends, ( Enzo & Saffi ) they made made me feel very welcome. When it was time to retire to bed it was almost like we were old friends. ( This was great for me as I was a little nervous as this was my first solo sit without Jeanette with whom I have sat with on many occasions, but had always taken a back seat while she did everything ) They took the time to give me all the information about their home, showing me where everything was and a quick how to on the items I wasn't sure of. The market garden was also a delight, having super fresh strawberries is a real treat. Their gorgeous home is located in a very prominent position in the village with excellent vistas. Hebden Bridge is absolutely beautiful, I now understand why it has the title of the greatest town in Europe. Enzo and Saffi were initially a bit wary of me, but I soon won them over with treats and patience. Once this had been acheived the petting began. Both Enzo an Saffi have a routine and are early rises which suited me as it meant I made the most of every day, once they had been supervised with their meal. Enzo can can be tempted to over endulge himself if Saffi fails to complete her meal. So supervison is required at all meal times. From start to finish this has been a splendid time. I can't thank Lisa and Sam enough for trusting me to care for Enzo an Saffi and their lovely home. I would definitely return if they ever are in need of a sitter in the future. cheers Karl
Communication with Andrea was very easy and we didn’t have any problems during our housesit for he. She is really nice and very welcoming. The kittens are so adorable. They were very playful and always kept us company, even at night when it was time for bed. We couldn't ask for anything more from a housesit, beautiful location, and very comfortable house. We are more than happy to come back to take care of Stellar and Milky again.
We really enjoyed looking after Sara and our time at Barton-on-Sea. The house and location are lovely with lots of beautiful walks to give Sara the exercise and play that she loves. A real pleasure to walk. At the house Sara is very well behaved and has clearly been well trained to follow 'house rules' which make her a pleasure to look after. Excellent communications with Terry regarding all aspects of looking after Sara and their home. Thank you.
What a great sit all around! Heidi was a great communicator and prepared us for everything we needed to know about the pets, home, and location. Demi and Tigs were adorable companions and easy to care for. They would sleep all day or hangout outside on their own and let you know exactly when it’s time to feed them. The home is very well equipped for remote workers and so serene to soak in the view. Overall there weren’t many responsibilities other than taking care of the easy, sweet pets! We highly recommend this sit and hope to see Heidi, Demi, and Tigs in the future!
Nicholas and Becci live in a lovely house in North Finchley and it’s convenient to walk to cafes, green areas and fantastic bus routes. The house has a beautiful back garden with seating area to eat your food on a nice day and it is also where Akira loves to sit outside at times too. Akira is a beautiful dog and tends to keep to herself by either sleeping on the sofa downstairs, garden or in her bed. She did come by once with a ball in her mouth to play for a bit which was very cute and the highlights of her day are dinner time and walks outside. Brian the cat is a bunch of joy, very entertaining, loveable and I even managed to give him tummy rubs which he seemed to love! He loves to play with his toys and is very energetic. Throughout the day he does nap and likes to be tucked in with his blanket before bed. If you want Brian to sit on your lap, place a blanket and he will jump over and cuddle wit you. During this sit, Brian was not allowed out in the garden as he was recently in a scuffle with other cats and the owners were in the process of trying out a body suit for Brian. Nick and Becci have been amazing in their communication and ensuring that they sent a well detailed Welcome Guide and messages throughout the day. They were always there to answer my questions and I felt I could be really comfortable asking them and reaching out to them. I really like how they used voice notes as I felt that they were there guiding me through all the different cupboards and where everything was kept as I did not get a chance to meet them in person. In fact this is the first sit I did on TrustedHousesitters without initially meeting the owners. It just shows how incredible this community is with the trust! If you're looking for an easy sit in London with fantastic owners, I would recommend this sit 100% 5***** I would definitely sit for Nick and Becci again when the opportunity arises.
Unfortunately my impression was that Robin Leech and Fiona Leech are not very nice people. They treated me in a patronizing, cold and strict manner like I was just another member of their housekeeping staff. The feedback they have given is unreasonable and undeserved. The house was very tidy, cleaned, hoovered, bed sheets washed, dried and folded before departure. The dogs were also very happy indeed with lots of love and attention as well as faithfully sticking to their daily routine and taking 2/3 walks per day. I shall address the undue criticism and complaints of Robin and Fiona... Firstly, they were given plenty of notice that the original sitter in the group couldn't make it due to a holiday and that her sibling would take care of the sit solo. They accepted this and agreed it would be fine. Secondly, the lights. The house has very little natural light. So yes, a couple of the lights were left switched on by the stairs and in the corridors as I didn't feel comfortable walking around in the dark, especially in a very big, very old house. Fiona felt the need to tell me off about this frequently on Whatsapp. Next... Both dogs had a chunky electric collar with large metal bolts sticking into the throat to electrocute them. While I found this cruel, I respected their wishes with these electric collars. It was a fairly complicated system to get used to. It required taking the collars on and off many times throughout the day in different zones of the house, garden and grounds... for toilet breaks, walks and sleeping times. Robin and Fiona learned from the gardener that one of the dogs had been zapped by accident during a toilet beak. It was a simple mistake to make yet they were very stern and unforgiving about it. One morning I did happen to wake up 2 hours late at 9:30am due to a poor nights sleep ... The cleaning staff decided to gossip about this by text to Robin and Fiona who absolutely chastised me for sleeping late. The cleaners also sneaked into my bedroom to take photographs while I was in the bathroom which was not a pleasant experience to be "snooped" on. The reference to smoking in "other rooms" of the house is very false. I was allowed to smoke in the kitchen which I kept very well ventilated and respectfully did not smoke indoors inside any other rooms of the house. Only outside. I changed bedroom on day 2 as there are 7 different guest bedrooms in the house. I didn't think this would be problematic as the cleaning staff would be arriving the next day. My initial room was not very cosy or warm and had a bug problem ( being closest to a big field. I had bugs landing in the bed at night ) I was encouraged to use the Amazon television during my stay and to use any service that was free of charge. I did so and received umpteen complaints from Fiona, paranoid about being hacked. It was quite unnecessary. Overall... Despite my efforts to be reassuring, helpful and friendly in this situation, Robin and Fiona proved to be quite rude, insulting, dramatic, unfriendly and untrusting. It was not a peaceful sit as I had hoped.
