I feel privileged to have been Andrea and David's first trusted housesitter! They are wonderful, open, generous hosts and I felt very welcome in their beautiful home, which is expansive, well-appointed and just like the listing photos. The highlight of the sit, though, was the furry occupants -- the handsome Boy and the gorgeous, energetic Kitten, but especially huge love bug Benny the dog. Benny looks like he'd be very ferocious, but then he just melts your heart with his loving playfulness. At the same time he is extremely protective of his home and family, and I felt 100% confident walking deep in Forest Park with him at my side. At 110 lbs he could be quite a handful if he were not so well-behaved, but fortunately he walks very, very well on lead (he's reliable off lead as well, but it's best to only let him off in certain specified areas, as he looks somewhat intimidating to strangers). There were some walks to be had right from the house, with many more within a short drive (Subaru provided). Benny is young enough to go for miles and miles and he’s used to regular runs with his folks, so if you’re a runner, so much the better! Each of the animals has his or her own individual feeding habits, but they were all very easily managed. I had a chance to meet and chat with some of the friendly neighbors, including one couple who dropped off a care package of local produce -- even though I already had access to a bounty of tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers from Andrea's raised garden beds out back. Overall this was a joyful sit – I felt a real connection to humans and pets alike, and I hope to be able to fill in for Andrea and David during some of their future travels!
I had a wonderful time watching Scat Cat and Toulouse at Rosa's apartment! Rosa is very friendly and easy to communicate with, and her apartment is located in a cute, quaint area of the city. Scat Cat and Toulouse are both lovely, fun, and affectionate kitties, and I very much enjoyed the time I spent with them. I highly recommend this sit and would sit for Rosa again in a heartbeat!
I loved this sit! Jackie made me feel so welcome and was I spoilt with a delicious home-made cake to enjoy on my sit. Jackie's home is beautiful, calm, relaxing, all mod-cons. My bedroom was likened to a hotel country-house hotel bedroom - gorgeous! The girls (cats) are lovely and not trouble at all. Thank you Jackie, it was a pleasure!
Can you say too cute for words? Fuji was such an easy dog to take care of and just adorable. I loved having him as a companion for the few days that I got to stay. Rem and Nathaline were so easy to communicate with. They even left me a surprise Christmas gift which was totally unexpected. Their home is very comfortable and welcoming, as is the area they live in. I highly recommend taking a sit for them if you have the chance.
Ash made me feel really welcome and Indy and Finn are the sweetest cats - I was truly charmed and it was a pleasure looking after them. They’re affectionate, very funny hunting for their Dreamies, and easy to care for. Ash’s flat has everything you need, and is in a great location, lots of cafes/bars around and good buses/trains to town and the west end should you want to adventure further. Would happily sit here again!
Benson is a wonderful dog and this sit was absolutely delightful. The apartment is across the street from the best park in the city for dogs to be able to run and play and fetch off leash, and Benson absolutely loves to go there. He plays well with the other dogs — the other dog owners are friendly— and the park is beautiful in all weather. Natalie made me feel incredibly welcome and the apartment was very comfortable. I strongly recommend this sit and would happily take care of Benson again.
