Thanks to Nicole & Chris for a great house sit. Home was clean & comfortable, a great house to come back too from the beach all day, lovely breeze throughout the house & great for a beer on the deck over looking the creek. Easy to follow instructions from the owners & Mochi the cat is great company & easy to look after. Nicole & Chris are super easy going & even left a bottle of wine & gift pack on arrival. Couldn’t give them a high enough reference. Will definitely keep in contact & we have some American friends now, Mahalo Chris & Nicole.
Sprat, Lady and Bunter have truly stolen our hearts and saying goodbye was terribly difficult. We have come to love and admire their humans and all of their neighbours too- Andrew and Lisa, Geoff and Denise, Jill and John and Erik, Trish and Toby, Cath and Bentley! There are no better people. Sprat’s/Lady’s/Bunter’s parents, Andrew and Lisa, are incredibly organised with a detailed online welcome guide sent months beforehand, printed as a hard copy upon our arrival, and in our room was a plethora of books, pamphlets, written instructions and information about the dogs, the home and the surrounding area. If that wasn’t enough, all of their neighbours were very warm and helpful- even helping with the dogs’ afternoon ritual at noon if we did a day trip to Whitby or York. They welcomed us with a dinner and accommodated Daniel’s multitudinous medical dietary requirements. The handover spanned 2 days and allowed for the smoothest transition for the dogs. Pickering itself is just the quintessential North Yorkshire town: vibrant and friendly, with all the amenities you could need (butchers/bakeries/restaurants/supermarkets/pubs/castle ruins/a Monday market that has been running since the Middle Ages) at the edge of the majestic North York moors. It is also the terminus for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (the UK’s largest preserved heritage railway) and beautiful steam engines run daily to Whitby! We consider ourselves deeply blessed to have had the opportunity to care for their furry children and their beautiful home- but even more so to have been included in the fold of the Pickering neighbourhood. What a world we live in. We are the luckiest of souls.
"Firstly, I'd like to express my gratitude to Candice for her trust, and especially for her warm welcome that made me feel comfortable right away. The cat is super cute, adding the perfect finishing touch. Communication with Candice is excellent, the apartment is cozy, and everything you need is close by. Thanks again for this wonderful experience."
From the first moment I entered Francesca's house, I got two new furry friends, Max, the German shepherd, and Lola, the poodle. The dogs are very affectionate, it was always a pleasure to go for long walks with them. There are many beautiful paths in this area of Oberwil, the dogs enjoyed romping around. Francesca showed me the house the evening I arrived and we took the dogs for a walk in the neighbourhood. The next morning they left for their flight. After they had left, I noticed that there were several surveillance cameras in operation in the house. Neither in the description for this house sitting nor on the day of my arrival in Oberwil did I receive any information from Francesca about indoor surveillance cameras in operation. The THS conditions do not allow indoor CCTV's! I have never had this experience in any of my previous house sits!!! Truly disappointing.
I had a great time staying here with their two dogs, Bella and Merlot! Both of them are very friendly and love cuddling and walks and will be delighted to have your company! Lisa was great at communicating Bella and Merlot's needs and made it an easy transition for me to stay there, would recommend!
