Wow, what a wonderful location and a lovely sit! The house is in an elevated position on the side of a hill halfway up a farm track with fantastic views of the Brecon Beacons (Skirrid & Blorenge). There's no passing traffic, just the shepherd moving the sheep. At the bottom of the track is the canal or if you walk up the track you can head out into the hills along very quiet lanes. For a half hour walk you can turn left at the top of the track, then left again and come back to the house via the gate at the bottom, or if you carry on you can turn right along the canal and come off at bridge 85 straight up a bridal way, then turn left to come back along the road to the house via the top track. The countryside is stunning, the people warm and friendly and you might even see the resident kingfisher on the canal. Truffle is an absolute sweetie and will be with you wherever you go. Jimmy often hung out with us in the garden and by the wood burning stove (plentiful supply of logs) in the evening and Wilson liked to snuggle up with me at bedtime. They're both lovely purry affectionate cats but Truffle will tell you off if you show them too much (ie any) attention! The house is comfy and cozy and Eleanore left a great welcome guide including some lovely illustrated instructions, which meant a quick one hour handover was ample. Eleanore and Marcus were very welcoming and enjoyed regular updates via What's App. If you're looking for somewhere peaceful right in the heart of some stunning countryside and the best weather in Wales with 3 adorable housemates then look no further! Abergavenny, Monmouth and Crickhowell are all close by and definitely worth a visit.
