Shandy was awesome. She took great care of our old dog Marlo - took him on lots of adventures, kept a close eye on how he was eating and drinking, and sent us a ton of updates. We came home to a pristine house, and she even laundered the linens she had used and left them folded and organized for us. She has great energy and enthusiasm, which was helpful when I felt maxed from planning our vacation. We're looking forward to hosting Shandy again.
Wendy was the nicest host I’ve had so far on TrustedHousesitters! Hosting me for extra days before and after the actual sit was no problem for her and I felt very welcomed from the very first moment. She gave me rides from/to the bus station, helped me to get some groceries before she left for her camping trip and in general just made sure I have everything what I need for my stay. Her house is beautiful! It’s located in a quit new and calm neighborhood close to Maple Bay with lots and lots of trails just across the street. I also enjoyed hanging out in her beautiful backyard where she grows lots of vegetables and berries in. It’s just a neat place to hang out at. Her furry companions Duffy and Kai are just the sweetest. Kai is really shy so he wouldn’t show too much appearances during the day but he still is a nice and friendly cat. Duffy is a goofball! He really is a sweet guy and a big cuddler. He enjoys your attention and some good rubs just as much as sleeping with you in bed - under the blanket 😂 I really didn’t mind it, he’s just so sweet and feels safest when he’s close to you. I haven’t had any issues with him, not even while giving him his medicine (eye drops). Such a lovely companion to have around :) Sitting for Wendy really is a recommendation by heart. We spent eleven wonderful days at the beautiful new home of Stephanie, Taylor, and Piper. Their house is spacious and has several areas in which you can relax or work, including an upper story entertainment room that leads out onto an incredible covered balcony terrace. From the terrace you have a panoramic view that directly overlooks a new park with lots of walking trails extending well beyond their immediate neighborhood and into an adjacent nature area with even more walking trails. Plus, you can enjoy all of this while admiring the Rocky Mountains in the distance. From their house it’s a quick and easy drive into either old town Arvada or Golden, either one of which has many more dining and cultural opportunities than we could possibly enjoy during our visit. There’s also easy access to downtown Denver, Evergreen, and Boulder. Stephanie and Taylor gave us great restaurant recommendations and we also found many others on our own. Also, Stephanie and Taylor’s very informative and complete welcome guide had lots of recommendations for all sorts of non-dining activities in the immediate area. Stephanie and Taylor made us feel right at home and went out of their way to provide a super comfortable stay for us. They are kind, generous, thoughtful people and great communicators. As much as we like the area and all that it has to offer, the real highlight of our stay was little Piper. She loves company and is a real snuggle bug. She also happens to be just about the easiest pup you can imagine looking after. She’s absolutely adorable, and so fun to hang out with. You can count yourself lucky if you get a chance to know her! A very enjoyable sit that we highly recommend!
We had a great weekend in Climping. Jane and Pete were very friendly and gave us a thorough handover. The cottage is in a fantastic location with a huge window in the kitchen-diner looking out onto fields. We loved the mornings watching the great variety of birds and the gorgeous skies as the sun came up. Tilly and Ted are the most cuddly loving little characters who were always game for walks. Toby the elderly cat stayed indoors, mainly lying on the heated bathroom floor and greeted us with loud purrs whenever we saw him. Perkins spent a lot of time outdoors but was very friendly when he did come in. The walks from the door are lovely and as we were blessed with sunny weather in January, we enjoyed the beach and sand dunes towards Littlehampton then the dramatic sea and man-made rock pools towards Elmer the other way. We will miss all the pets, especially the lovely cuddles on the sofa in the evenings. Hopefully we will get the chance to go back again!
Even though the sit was only one night, it was very good. The dogs are amazing to walk with and their recall is very good. Heather and Nigel are sweet as well and wonderful to talk with. We hope to be able to sit for them a lot more.
What a special sit :) Lovely, warm, generous Sally and her beautiful pets have become wonderful friends. Adorable, perfectly behaved Labs Tiggy and Pippi were such great and affectionate company and Moo Moo the cat the easiest to care for. Sally was so accommodating and flexible, with perfect communication and very generously offering to let me stay on, when my next sit cancelled. This worked out beautifully, as Sally then took the opportunity to add a further trip. Her house is very comfortable, with all conveniences and walks straight from the door. Lovely Cobham with all facilities just a short distance. It really felt like home from home, with such lovely energy from Sally and her daughter Kitty. I look forward to revisiting the girls and miss them. Please don’t hesitate if you have the opportunity. Best wishes and thank you Sally.
Rob and Nickie were so warm and welcoming to me. They made me feel part of the family. They were very kind and generous, making sure I had everything I needed for a great stay in their beautiful home with Sophie. Rob and Nickie's home is in a great location close to Bondi and Tamarama beaches with easy access to cafes, restaurants and public transport. Sophie is such a sweetheart. She is a very easy girl to care for and love. Sophie has a beautiful calm personality and a gorgeous smile and loves to be by your side. Sophie loves snuggling on the couch together, Vegemite on toast and going for walks to the dog park to meet some of the local boy dogs. Sophie became blind 2 years ago but she does not let this stop her loving life. She gets around very easy with some help using key words to guide her. She requires daily medication and eye drops and takes these very well, with some treats of vegemite on toast and apples. Sophie and I bonded immediately, she is a very special girl and I can't wait to care for her again later in the year. Thank you Nickie and Rob for trusting me with your gorgeous girl and your home.
