Such an interesting and energetic family of five, with pets to match! Each of the three cats, Tiger, Venkman and Bob have very distinctive personalities, each endearing in their own way. And Josie, the young dog, is a sweetie. The 2-level, 4-bedroom house had more than ample space for everyone! Sitters who are a couple or a family would be comfortable, and it would be good to have more hands for petting! The cats were very happy to get attention, although they were not overly demanding. Josie, at the time only 8-months, needed the most attention for frequent walks and playtime. Sophie and family took great pains to have the house clean and in good condition upon my arrival. I very much appreciated that Fanny, the housekeeper, continued to come once a week to help keep up with things. When the weather cooperated, it was lovely to sit on one of the decks, the patio, or the front yard with Josie, who sometimes listened quietly to the mourning doves, or chased insects, or chewed on anything she could get her mouth on (yup, she’s a youngster!) The family and the animals are all lovely. I recommend this sit to people who have time to give all the animals some love!
Lulu is a sweet dog. She is smart and loves to just hang out around you. She needs you to stay with her most of the day, because she gets anxious when she is left alone. I enjoyed working from home with Lulu. The neighborhood is peaceful and beautiful. I really enjoyed my stay!
Cannot recommend this sit highly enough! Lorna and Frank are great and their house is really a very special place. Babe (their cat) is a little older and likes to sleep a lot but is good company. The property is slightly remote, making it difficult to access the nearest town for supplies but if you like solitude and appreciate the beauty of nature it will be a very memorable experience!
I thoroughly enjoyed sitting with Mo. He is a sweet cat who loves lots of attention. Jody is a fantastic host and left everything set up for a seamless week. I would enthusiastically sit again!
I loved taking care of Mighty! She is a super sweet dog who loves cuddles and being outside. Solene’s apt is in a great location and it was clean and had everything I needed for the stay. Solene was always responsive via text if I had any questions. I’d definitely love to watch Mighty again!
Our stay at Daniel's and Benji's home was wonderful. Benji is such a lovely and super well behaved doggy, he has an easy routine for any doglover and the most important is to share quality time with him. The appartment is beautiful, tidy and comfy and Daniel left us a very detailed welcome guide with all the useful indications about Benji and the house.

I feel quite strongly amount writing this review. I have only been using Neil, Essex Pet Services for a short while. Neil has a naturally calming demeanour which is essential for my very spirited dog. He is genuinely incredibly good with animals and provides a home from home environment. He is contactable, honest and reliable. Anyone who has spent a few minutes in Neil’s company would truly believe he only has the animals in his care at heart. Having used a previous home broader for the past 2 and a half years I was very nerves about trusting my dog with someone new, however Neil completely won my trust the moment I met him, each time I’ve used Neil my dog has return home happy, healthy and content.
Essex Pet Services have been walking and boarding my dog Micha for nearly 5 years now. Neil and the team know their stuff. She is picked up and dropped off, making life so much easier. The prices are beyond reasonable. Neil is amazing with Micha, she loves to see him, and gets so excited when she hears the van. Cannot recommend these guys highly enough. Would not trust anyone else with my fur baby. Thank you so much xx
Essex pet services are absolutely amazing!!!!! My dog Belle loves staying with Neil on her holidays & loves going out for walks with him. She gets mega excited when she sees him and it’s great piece of mind to know that our Belle is being looked after & loved whilst we are away. I wouldn’t leave my dog with anyone else! Not only are they professional but they are the most caring people I’ve ever met.
I can not recommend Neil more! There is no one else i would trust to look after my pets. Regardless of the speculation of late I will continue to use Essex Pet Services with absolute peace in my heart. Neil is a very sincere and compassionate human being. We’ve been using Neil & Maddy since 2015. Neil even brought our dogs to our wedding so we could have them in our photos on our special day. We’ve since moved to Suffolk and still use Neil for boarding when we go abroad. Our dogs love and remember Neil and always come back happy and worn out.
We love Essex Pet services. Always reliable. Always dependable. We would be totally lost without the love care and attention that our dogs get when we can’t be there to do it. Could not recommend highly enough. Neil deserves a bloody knighthood.
Ran out of stars to give! Neil is absolutely amazing with Dougie. He has had him nearly a year now and is very helpful and accommodating. It is clear to see that both Neil and Ryan adore animals and I could not imagine Dougie being with anyone else. I am extremely thankful I found them! Thank you both for everything.
Neil is a real life Doctor Doolittle! My dog is very wary around new people but she took to Neil immediately. I couldn’t be more happy with the service and the price and would highly recommend Essex Pet Services. Don’t believe everything you read in the papers either.
Excellent service. The company has looked after our Italian Spinone for over 6 months 3 days a week. Always accommodating and our dog gets a great doggy day care service with plenty of exercise and stimulation. The company posts videos and photos regularly So we can see how he is enjoying his days. Would definitely recommend.
Highly recommend these guys, our Milo loves spending time with them and any mention of uncle Neil and he goes crazy! They have looked after him since he was a crazy pup (he's still crazy) and we are so happy that we choose these guys to look after him. They had him during our 2 week honeymoon and everytime we go away. There is nobody that I would trust to have my boy while I'm away. Thanks for all you do and Milo loves you all.
