Sitting for John and Goncawas a wonderful experience. The were always available if we had questions. Their home is beautiful and comfortable, located in a lovely neighborhood. It was easy to take public transit and Lyft where ever we wanted to go. Resturaunts and a farmers market are within walking distance. Rufus is a super loveable dog. He definitely needs exercise, but knows when it is time to be melow. He was so much fun and easy to care for. We had a great time taking him on walks. There are plenty of great trails to explore with him. We hope to return in the future.
Had a great week in Wellfleet with Kaya and the cats. The cats, as cats, were pretty self sufficient, but Kaya was always excited to go for a walk along the trails in the woods behind the house, or wade into the water to give her head a quick dunk. Very easy-going, happy dog. Kaya knows the trails really well, so if you have a bad sense of direction, no worries - Kaya will steer you home when you're ready.
Kipper was a great kitty- sweet and playful. He’s goes in and out, but always came home for me, so didn’t have to worry too much. There are a few meds to give, but they were pretty easy. Allison’s house was on a quiet cul de sac and the neighborhood is a colorful, multicultural area of Oakland. BART is a short bus ride away and there are many local buses that run throughout Oakland. I love Dimond park- just about a mile away. And Joaquin Miller and Redwood Regional parks are a bus ride away and have tons of hiking trails. The hot tub in the back yard was great to relax in- a plus! I recommend this cat- house sit in Oakland. Thank you, Allison. :)
It was an absolute pleasure taking care of the little princess, Speedy and the little king of the castle, Gonzales (cutest names btw!) Speedy and Gonzales melted my heart from the first second I met them. Speedy is a beautiful and sweet girl who is obsessed from drinking from the kitchen faucet. She showers you with kisses and makes sure you know how appreciated you are each time you do anything for her. Once she warms up, she’ll snuggle next to you and melt your heart. Speedy wears his heart on his sleeve and is just bursting with love. He followed me around everywhere I went. He’s just so cute and gives back as many little kisses as he receives. Both of the kitties are so innocent and sweet, I could not believe how affectionate they both were. They made me feel so at home and at peace. You could tell they were raised with so much love. The home itself was perfect for my little staycation getaway. It is a harmonious blend of modern and retro styles, featuring a delightful nature theme with wooden and caramel tones, plants adorning every corner, and tasteful touches of photography, books, and music. It’s what you’d refer to as a “cool” house. I couldn’t help but feel so zen and at home. As if that wasn’t enough, the magical view of the pool from the living room made me feel like I was always on vacation while the home office nestled in the corner with all the natural lighting one could ask for allowed me to work when necessary. It had all appliances necessary and very close to the grocery stores, dining, mall and necessary shops. Everything was perfect. And last but certainly not least, Danielle and James were the perfect hosts. They are just two of the most genuine and amusing people I have met. They graciously took the time to personally show me around before the sit, going above and beyond by providing a detailed guide for the home and pet care. They even thoughtfully prepared video instructions for cleaning and feeding the little ones, making everything seamless and stress-free. They were so appreciative of all updates and even brought me back chocolates from their trip. They’re such good spirited and grateful couple. They feel like friends now. I’m beyond lucky and thankful I got to do this sit and I’m patiently waiting for the next opportunity to see the kitties again. Anyone would be lucky to care for Speedy and Gonzales and I hope it’s usually me! :)
Lacey was super accommodating and responsive. The house was quiet and clean, close to some stores and transportation. The highlight was obviously Stella, who is the cutest cat ever. She’s super cuddly and loves some attention, very chill and easy to care for. It was a wonderful stay!
If you get to caretake Mimi, jump on the opportunity and enjoy the company of such a sweet little being! Mimi is an absolute delight and very chill to be around. She loves to be with you, be stroked and to cuddle. A truly adorable companion. Zoe (& Robbert) are very nice and kind. All communication was with Zoe and she’s been super pleasant and very helpful. So friendly and welcoming, making sure everything is ok. Their place is totally in line with all this. Spacious, and peaceful, with a wonderful view..! That was a nice and big plus to already a super sit.
