I don't know where to begin to sing the praises of Barbara and Jan! Barbara is a cat whisperer and within days put a spell on all three of our cats and won over all three of our cats, including Pixie and Lucie who are quite skittish and wary of strangers. (We made sure to inspect their car before they left in case one of our cats decided to leave with them!!) Both Barbara and Jan were calm and practical when soon after we left, all three cats suddenly started vomiting. It was extremely stressful to have this happen when we were ten thousand kms away in South Africa. We eventually narrowed it down to a bag of kibbles that was past its sell-by-date. Once the food was changed, the cats were fine. During particularly bad winds, a tree fell on our electric fence and Jan offered practical assistance to chop up the tree and fix the fence. The weekend of our return, Omicron chaos hit Europe and we ran the risk of delays in getting back home from South Africa. Jan and Barbara immediately reassured us that they could stay an extra five days. We received regular updates with photos - and plenty of humour! Our home was spotless on our return, our fridge was cleaner than when we left, and Jan even chopped up extra kindling for our first fire. We had one of our best holidays ever in our home country, and knowing Jan and Barbara were looking after our cats played a big part in that.
