We had a wonderful time with Logie and Boru. They are super characters and take delight in each other and human company. Logie is a well behaved Labrador that adores carrying sticks and fetching balls. Boru (his laid back big brother) was built for lounging majestically on the sofa or at your feet. He is so gentle, good natured and affectionate. The highlight of their day is their two daily walks followed by food. Fortunately for them and their sitters they live in the best of the Cairngorms foothills. The village is friendly and the walking surrounding the house stunning. Boru and Logie are happy to be left for a while so you can visit the many local places of interest and restaurants, inns and tea shops in the village and surrounding area. Linda and Peter are great hosts and made us feel so comfortable. Their home is so easy to live in and has beautiful views over the stunning large garden where the dogs love to relax and play. In brief, I can only endorse the positive views from previous sitters.
This was our first house sit and we thoroughly enjoyed being there to take care of Inky, the birds and outdoor plants. We haven't had a cat for a few years so Inky was fun to be around and play with. The house is in a great quiet location and was very clean. We had a comfortable bedroom and bed to sleep in and the bathroom is conveniently located next to the bedroom. The backyard is exceptional, and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the wild birds each morning! Thank you, Harriot, for trusting us with Inky and your home. We would enjoy returning.
Absolutely wonderful sit. I cannot say enough good things about Nigel and Natasha's warm hospitality -- they were friendly, easy to communicate with, and have an absolutely lovely home. All three bedrooms were available for me to use, and the cleaner came regularly once a week, which was a real help since I was remote working most of my stay. I was perfectly content to be at home with Hiccup, Spindle, and Billy, but Natasha was able to help me coordinate alternative coverage as well as continuing Hiccup's regular doggy day care so I could play tourist a few times in London. The house is perfectly situated a short walk from the Northern Line, which can get hot and crowded in the mornings. If you're planning on taking it anywhere, I'd have a leisurely coffee, then morning out with the dog on the green and then take it in once the commuter traffic dies down. Hiccup the sweet chocolate lab is an absolute angel -- always bringing you a soft toy, equally ready for a sofa cuddle or a walk. She can be a bit stubborn and pokey on her lead, so I mainly took her around the open space and greenways surrounding the house. If you do take her out she's fabulous on public transport, and gets lots of love and attention from strangers. She's super laid back and playful with other dogs, and most other dogs in the area are similarly well-behaved so it's not a source of anxiety. She is MAD for food, so you do have to be mindful of that, but it also makes her easy to bribe with treats. Because of this I didn't take her to a cafe or pub, and probably wouldn't recommend trying. The brothers -- younger cats Spindle and Billy -- were generally absent whenever the weather was sunny and nice, but hung around the house with me when it turned rainy and cold. Billy took some coming round and bribery with treats, but he was convinced eventually. They're both absolute sweethearts, often to be found napping together next to the airing cupboard. I very much appreciated the chance to do this sit, and would recommend it for anyone who loves cuddly animals, leafy suburbs, and friendly hosts in a beautiful home.
Jessica's house is incredible and it's in an excellent location for everything! Murphy is such a great dog, we loved spending time with him and taking him on many walks. He's very calm and obedient off the lead at the park and always put a smile on our faces!
Nick and Fede have a comfortable home in Waterford. Maeve and Friday were easy to be with and we took Maeve out often. She is reactive with other dogs but with notice of their arrival, we got her to sit and remain calm - mostly. Frida is very keen to escape into the garden and will take any opportunity to do so but she can be easily coaxed with treats. Ireland is beautiful and we had a wonderful time.
We had a great 5 night sit at Jon’s. Frank is a calm chilled out dachshund, Milo is super keen walker, likes to get there first but will race to the finish with Dinky, cute over loving little, as the name implies Dachshund. Overall these guys are great company, took a day or so to get used to us, but when we all got to know each other it was sad to say bye. Jon and Cristian’s home is in a beautiful part of mid Devon and with the weather as we had, sunny and warm it was a great time to be there. Unfortunately they couldn’t travel in the car but we left them for a few hours to explore Seaton and Beer on the beach
