I enjoyed 2 dinners and good conversation with this lovely family before they left for their holiday and after I’d been fully briefed how to feed the alpacas and keep the dogs and cats separate and to their normal routine. It’s difficult to take the two dogs on a walk together, although I did 3-4 times, as Chewie barks at everything that moves and pulls on the lead. However they walk very nicely together when there are no distractions! Jenny suggested I take Chewie to their dog sitter which I did a few times and enabled me to take Lady on other interesting walks. Jenny was right to say that they enjoy a good run around in the paddocks chasing a ball (which will get destroyed!) and it was hilarious to watch them. The alpacas were curious about the dogs’ antics too and they were surprisingly easy to look after/feed. Both dogs are very affectionate and clearly love each other. We enjoyed our evenings together and they love bedtime! Eddie the ginger cat was very affectionate and eventually Beast, who ran a mile when he first saw me, came round to allowing me to stroke him. Beauty had been awol before I arrived and remained so. The house is nearly at the top of a long road with magnificent views of Mount Maunganui and surrounding hills. Very easy house to live in. It’s 10km from the nearest shop so a car is necessary and, thankfully, Jenny lent me hers which was easy to drive. All told a lovely home, family and animals. I hope to meet up with the family again before leaving the North Island.
We had a lovely stay at Myles and Toni's home. Myles was great on the comms and really generous with helping us get to and from Lincoln. Molly and Lola were such great dogs. We really enjoyed taking them for walks around the spots Myles provided in his guide. Molly is great on the lead and Lola's recall is brilliant. They were super playful but very chill in the evenings/after a nice long walk, loved having an evening snuggle on the couch. Polly and Blyth were very chill and mostly kept to themselves upstairs (they're a bit timid around the dogs). We'd definitely recommend doing your next sit for Myles and Toni. Thanks again!
We had an amazing few days in Edinburgh while taking care of Bailey and Islay. Mike and Gina were very thorough in how to care for their babies, which we appreciate and respect, as it shows how much they care for their little ones. The apartment is very comfortable and in close proximity to a few great options for coffee, drinks and dining. There are also two easy-to-catch buses just outside, or take an easy uphill stroll to New Town.
I've had a great time with Ivy! She's such a lovely dog and loves you in an instant ☺️ very funny. To commute to Brighton centres was easy and quick:) their house is in a lovely quiet area. I've had the blessing of amazing weather every day which made my stay even sweeter ! Very lovely Family 🙂
We have spent our first week at Sarah's home and we are so grateful for this start in a new country. We enjoyed our time with the pets. Since we do housesitting with our toddler it was very important for us that the pets are childfriendly. The cats and our toddler became best buddies and it was just lovely to take care of them. Sailor and Skipper are very kind and cuddly cats. We have taken the dog Cali into our hearts since he is just a very funny and special dog. Inside the house he is very chill and such a sweetheart. Just outside it is important to give him enough space to other dogs and to avoid them as much as possible. In genereal we felt very welcome and the house and garden are just beautfiul, very tidy and so well organized! Sarah and her family are very generous and kind people. We felt that we have a likeminded lifestyle which made us feel even better. It is located in a very nice neighborhood. We would always come back and we just miss it already :) Thank you so much from all of us!
Deidra was wonderful to communicate with. She is very honest and easy-going. All the animals were incredibly sweet. We loved having quality time with all of them. Deidra‘s home absolutely beautiful and in an incredible setting. It felt like a mountain retreat to spend a few days there. I hope our paths cross again! We’re really missing Luna & Rio!
