I greatly enjoyed this "country but close to the city" sit and have already booked a second house/pet sit here. Hosts and I are a good match in terms of being responsible (we agreed to meet weeks ahead of time for an "interview", basically, something I would always do if local); expectations for time spent with the cats; appreciation of the natural surroundings. I loved being with these two cats because I admire their mix of independence (they really, really like to explore outside) and affection -- when, being cats, they feel like it, of course. Also the only "trained" cats I have EVER met, which is important as they are free-range outside but we need to keep them inside in the evening/night due to predators. These cats are "litter clean" and also enjoy being brushed.
This sit was a great mini-vacation ! House is cozy and has mod cons but I spent most of my time in the nearby pretty, screened, new cedar "cottage" for reading, dining. House is close to river, with private dock! Use of kayak! Swimming! Or just sit on the dock and meditate. Large flower garden, so job suits someone who enjoys spending time each day watering and light weeding. Job suits someone who enjoys being home at least 4:30 on, to be with the cats, who enjoys gardens and appreciates nature/the river/biking or skiing trails nearby, and who understands and accepts basic requirements of semi-rural living: e.g. water conservation (well water is not unlimited), septic tank etiquette, keeping house cool without A/C, home security. Unexpected bonuses: interesting hosts; cable TV and good WIFI.

Nina & Jeremy
Nina and Jeremy were the perfect hosts. Always there for us if we needed any advice or help. They run a little Airbnb and everything was so well prepared and organised that we had almost nothing to do with that part.. we loved the pool in the back of the very beautiful green property and enjoyed it almost daily. The two dogs Samy and Pepper are very well behaved and we fell in love with them immediately. Very easy to care for!
When we fell sick with dengue at the end of our sit, Nina and Jeremy were very understanding and offered us to stay in one of their apartements, what we highly appreciated. Thank you so much again for everything. We would always go back!

This was a dream sit. Tucker and Sawyer are sweet, gentle, and well behaved. Seriously easy dogs, very chill but great company and fun. They have a fenced yard if the weather’s bad and they just need to potty, but they’re also very well behaved on a leash and we enjoyed our daily walks around their beautiful neighborhood.

Cindy and her husband are warm and welcoming, and the home is absolutely beautiful, immaculate and well appointed. There are multiple comfortable places in the home or on the deck where you can sit with a cup of tea or coffee while watching birds and the light playing over the lake. Communication was great and all instructions were simple and straightforward.

These are honestly the sweetest dogs and I was sad to kiss them goodbye. 10/10 would recommend, and I would love to sit for them again. Everything about this sit was easy, comfortable, and happy.

Lovely stay with friendly, easy to care for, bunnies, kitties, fish and a gecko! Clear instructions and a beautiful home with excellent proximity to all the best that Cape Cod offers. I loved my stay here and it was great to get to know them better. If you like cuddles with bunnies and kitties then this is the place for you!

Jamie and Tipton
Had the best quiet, low key stay on the farm! Jamie and Tipton were warm and helpful in getting oriented and the animals were lovely - dogs + cat sweet, affectionate, and well-behaved; poultry as expected.

I came from out of town looking for something closer to nature and absolutely got that. The local hikes are gorgeous, and every morning had breakfast with a view of the bluberry fields!
