What a fabulous time we had looking after the adorable Wiggie, Indie, Hebe and Pettle.

The house is a lovely house in a beautiful rural setting, well situated not too far from York and the coast, but also in idyllic countryside with chocolate box villages dotted around. Lots of great walking.

Jo, Richard and family made us very welcome and we immediately relaxed enjoying a cup of tea and some excellent home made sponge.

We could not recommend this stay highly enough in this characterful home, and certainly hope we can return one day too.

Cathy
Cathy is wonderful and was very hospitable. She left through notes for care of the ladies and home. She recommend some things to do in the neighborhood too; walking trails and restaurants. Elka and Tully were such a delight. They're very playful and entertaining to watch romping with each other. Elka quickly warmed up to me by napping on my lap and sleeping with me at bedtime. Tully was my husband's little buddy following him around the house. We definitely sit Elka and Tully again! We really enjoyed this sit!

Miranda
This was a lovely sit all around. Miranda and Tristram's home is a large and beautifully restored and furnished stone farmhouse with all the classic Cotswold details but also mod cons, right in the center of a small, quiet village with a pub/restaurant steps down the street. There's a nice circular walk around the fields and along a stream in back of the property, and many other Cotswold tours and walks in the area. Nearby is Roman Cirencester with its archeological museum and shops, charming Fairford and its historic church and river walk, or Lechlade-on-Thames, where you can walk to The Trout, a traditional pub with great food. You do need a car for traveling further afield in the Cotswolds and Glouscester.
Miss Priss is an loveable, easy cat. Advanced in years, she is happy to spend her days sleeping somewhere near you (especially in front of the Aga or woodstove) and getting a couple of good brushings a day (she'll let you know when!). It was easy to become quite attached to her, and we were happy to have her as a sleeping companion at night.
Miranda and Tristram were wonderful hosts and immediately helpful with any questions. Although we never met them, having to pass en route to other destinations, we felt warmly welcomed. We wholeheartedly recommend this sit.
Thank you for a very comfortable and relaxing stay, Miranda, Tristam, and Miss P!

Bruce
Do not hesitate to apply for a sit to care for Lolliepup and the fish in San Miguel de Allende. Bruce and Mary are wonderful and incredibly generous hosts, and Lolliepup is a big sweetheart, who is very easy to care for. We found all the previous reviews to be accurate and we consider this one of those ultimate sits on THS. Lolliepup is a gentle natured, curious dog who will be by your side and looking for affection. She loves to saunter on her walks sniffing every last stone. It is a leisurely and slow walk as you take in all the sights of the local streets and near by park. Bruce and Mary’s home is beautifully designed, clean, very comfortable, and full of light. You will spend a good deal of time admiring their art collection and relaxing in all the sitting spaces that are dripping with foliage and flowers that Mary has curated. It really is an ideal Mexican oasis. Finally the location of this home is ideal. It is a quiet setting off the main streets, but you are moments away from the main attractions and restaurants. Bruce has excellent resources he shares so you can dial in on what the best things to do are. Absolutely no need for a vehicle on this sit. We really do hope to return to care for Lolliepup in the future and connect with Mary and Bruce again.

This sit was so great! A beautiful home, a very kind and helpful couple, and the sweetest and best dog in all the land. Beau was a treat to hang out with, we were sad to say goodbye! Taking him for walks, playing ball, cuddling him, and of course watching his happy food dance were all pure joy. Thanks so much to Natalie and Ben for a great week with their place and their big fur baby.

I have very good month in Coutada at Helen and Ram's home. They helped me with arrival and departure, offered lovely dinner and provided amazing company the day I arrived, which quickly made me feel at home. Their happy zoo: Bonzo, Bandid, Beryl and Monty were great and never let me get bored. They are super friendly, sociable, talkactive and overall easy to take care of. Each of them has completely different character, what makes this house sit very special and I will never forget them (especially Monty, the cat who thinks is a dog 😁) and I already miss them! The communication with Helen and Ram was super easy, they provided me all necessary information and were always available when needed, which made this stay enjoyable and easy. The house is comfortable and well equipped, the village quiet and located close to the coast. The neighbours are super friendly and it was a pleasure to meet them every day during our walks. Highly recommend this place and cute pets! 😊
