Kaye and her son are lovely and very kind people! We stayed at their place for three nights. The dogs Archie and Molly are very cute and they will love to be around you. At the beginning they can be over excited but soon they get adjusted to the new people and everything is fine. It was nice to play with the ball with them and cuddle them! Thanks for everything Kaye and Perston!
We had such a great time with Arthur and in Stephanie and Jay’s house. Arthur is such a happy, relaxed, well behaved boy who brings a smile to everyone’s face. He also knows his routine so well he practically looks after himself! He is so playful and is a real pleasure to look after, we would happily do so again. Stephanie and Jay went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome - even leaving treats for us on arrival! Their place is in a great location, it is very central and Brixton is such a cool area. Stephanie kept up communication throughout our stay and was also responsive when we needed her. All in all, a great housesitting experience. Thank you so much Stephanie and Jay!
Deepa and her partner are very hospitable people and have a very beautiful house. Deepa kindly picked me up and dropped me from the train station on arrival and departure. Most of their animals are very well trained (apart from the occasional cat poop just outside the kitty litter which is bound to happen when you have animals.) There were a couple of things that soured my experience. The vacuum broke leaving 8 cats and 2 dogs worth of fluff throughout the house! This isn’t necessarily Deepas fault or something thing she could have prevented but it did cause the worst case of hay fever (allergies) I have ever had. I know it wasn’t Covid because I tested myself each day. I wasn’t even able to explore that part of town because I was hiding out in the basement where the animals aren’t allowed. Another minor issue I had was feeling though this was a job and Deepa was my boss rather than me being a volunteer. At times I did feel a little trapped as I wasn’t able to leave for more than 4 hours at a time so I would recommend if you sat for Deepa to have a car. Deepa occasionally came across a little rude. Perhaps I could have accepted this if there were only 1 or 2 animals. However there where 10 indoor animals! 8 cats and 2 dogs is no small feat and in my opinion this is not a job for a volunteer but someone who is being paid. All the cats were fed differently and allowed in different parts of the house. I probably should have known the intensity before coming into this. However I am a farm girl with sheep and cattle so I didn't understand how cats could have been that hard. I do apologize for forgetting to return the key. I purely did not have enough money to ship it back and should the funds have been covered, it definitely would have been shipped. Thankyou for letting me stay at your place. Best wishes for you and your pet’s future.
I had a great sit and stay at this beautiful home of Emma and David with a large garden I truly enjoyed. Close to the city center of Cambridge everything is on your doorstep here. The cats are lovely and very easy to maintain. The behaved like rockstars and we hade lovely cuddle-times in the evening before they popped out and when they came back in the morning. The communication with Emma and David has been brilliant and if there is an opportunity I would be happy to sit here again.
Fiona and Craig were very accomodating and we felt instantly comfortable in their amazing house. Sadly our sit was only a few days, we would have loved to stay longer! Fiona left us heaps of info on the area and recommendations for things to do which was really helpful. And of course, Walter and Doris were so fun to look after! They LOVE attention and Doris will always have a toy with her. In classic Frenchie style, they are hilarious when they’re excited or sleeping - with the snorting and snoring 😂 they both have awesome personalities so there is never a dull moment
This sit was so much fun! Mary was very communicative any time I had a question. Nellie is a very sweet, cuddly, and energetic dog and so easy to take care of. She slept beside me all night in the guest room. DC and Annapolis are just short drives away if you want to site see. 5/5
