Tag was a great choice. She exudes calmness and a sense of quiet confidence. She communicated well with us before, during and after the sit. We knew our pup was in good hands and could relax and enjoy our holiday.
Sometimes, knowing what a sit is like when things don’t go to plan is useful for house-sitters to know. What happened on my sit with Anna was no-one’s fault, and if you a) have free-roaming cats b) clock-up enough house-sits, may well happen at some stage. Firstly, all of the things that other sitters have said are true – it’s an emerging butterfly of a house-nearing-completion, very stylish, clean, large and comfortable. The location is fantastic, with everything you need close by. The cats are very sweet-natured. Anna was a very good communicator before and during the visit, made every effort to accommodate me, and I was very comfortable. During my sit one of the cats (Nicolas) had an accident – perhaps a fall - in the middle of the night and dislocated/paralysed his tail. This meant vet visits, confinement in one room for seven days, pain medication and trying to ensure he didn’t jump anywhere – not easy. Disturbed by being shut off from the kitchen, and Nicolas’ sometimes vocal protests at confinement, Goose then seemingly decided to take off for a day or two until normality returned. This situation is obviously not ideal for either party, and is a real test of a house-sit arrangement. Anna was great. She was of course very worried about her cats, but as long as I communicated clearly, acted promptly and did everything I possibly could , she was always on hand, arranged relatives to come and help me, discussed best options with me and even recorded herself calling Goose when he went missing so I could play it and entice him home! She paid for/reimbursed all expenses incurred promptly. This whilst trying to hold together a family holiday that was only a week long, but must have felt very short! All was eventually well, Nicolas’ tail started healing, he enjoyed lots of cuddles, and Goose returned when he got hungry. Zoe watched all of this with wide-eyes and comforting snuggles. But it is testament to Anna and Michael that despite some drama, we left on good terms, with all cats safely present and correct! I hope sitters can be reassured by this.
Debra and Jim are a kind and generous couple who rolled out the red carpet for us in every imaginable way. From the first evening when we became acquainted with them, Oliver, and their lovely home, we couldn't have felt more welcome. This is a first class sit and soon became one of our favorites. Oliver is 100% little boy at heart and may have the happiest temperament of all the dozens of dogs I've known and cared for over the years. You'll see once you interact with him! Debra and Jim provided detailed information and written instructions which made the various tasks and responsibilities associated with the sit all that much easier to track and complete. Their home, with its many amenities, is conveniently located and perched right atop a large, gently sloping lawn leading right down to the waters edge. We had privacy, serenity, yet were not isolated - the best of all worlds. Yes, Trisha and I heartily recommend applying when the opportunity presents itself - you won't be disappointed!
My daughter and I had a nice stay at Mary's very comfortable home in Denver. Nacho was so much fun! He let us know when he wanted some attention and liked to curl of on the couch next to us. He's so sweet, I miss him already!
Had a great stay with Lily and Lucy. They are very sweet dogs, each with their own personalities. Although they both love a good walk and a cuddle! The location can't be beat for Central Berlin and is very close to a large park for long walks with the dogs. Michelle was always quick to answer any questions and kept me updated with her and Jo's return home. Thanks again for having me!
We loved this sit and especially looking after Ziggy! He is so lovely, very easy to look after, and we enjoyed his company. The house is perfect - we felt very comfortable there and it is in an excellent location. As we were without a car we found the transport links to be very good. We made several trips into Edinburgh city centre which was easy and close. There are lovely walks in the area too with amazing views of the Forth Bridge. All communication ,before and during the sit, with Pauline was great and we really felt welcomed. I would highly recommend this sit.
I had such a lovely time taking care of Princessa. She is very adorable and easy to look after. Once she is used to you she loves to play and snuggle. Can definitely recommend staying with her!
